I have 3 main complaints: First, I was given misinformation about the procedure: I was told by a nurse this was a simple procedure that would heal quickly and not involve stitches. I found out on the day of the procedure that was false: it involved multiple stitches and several weeks of recovery. Second, I was assured by a nurse that the procedure would be covered by my insurance. I found out afterward that was not the case. Nothing was covered, I was simply sent a bill for thousands of dollars which I am now paying in installments, and will be for more than a year. Lastly, it took them two passes to remove all the cancer, despite it being a relatively small area (smaller than a penny). Same visit; I never even left the chair. But I found out later I was charged for two Mohs surgeries. Why I should have to pay double because they failed at their job is beyond me. In any other situation, if you pay for a service and the service isn't fully rendered, they make it right at no extra cost. So if you go here, plan to do your homework. Maybe get a second opinion. Google what to expect. Get any information you're given in writing. Call your insurance company yourself and ask if your treatment will be covered. And be aware that if they make a mistake, you're the one who will pay for it.

Despite having no…read morehistory of skin cancer or concerning moles, I was required to strip down to my underwear with only a paper sheet for "full-body exams" on multiple occasions. These exams were completely unrelated to my chief complaints (face and scalp) and made me feel incredibly vulnerable and unsafe. I have to wonder if male patients are required to strip down to their underwear for facial redness as often as female patients are. During these invasive exams, Dr. Armile performed multiple biopsies on moles that were not changing or irritated. Every single one came back benign (non-cancerous), yet I am now left with permanent, "Frankenstein-like" scarring on my ankle and hip from these unnecessary procedures. He also ignored my severe gastric distress from the oral medications he prescribed--a problem my second-opinion doctor fixed instantly. When I exercised my right to a second opinion to find a doctor who actually respected my boundaries and treated my symptoms, I was "blacklisted" and told I could not return to this practice. Because he is the only provider in Mahoning County for certain plans, he is essentially acting as a tyrant--controlling the local insurance market by discharging any patient who questions his methods. If you value your physical boundaries and want a doctor who focuses on your actual medical needs rather than performing invasive, unnecessary surgeries, please look elsewhere.
