Wooley's was the spot for so many people to wait for the Mayor of Idyllwild to appear at 2 pm. Such fan fare as the car with a red, white and blue sign drove by, circled and parked in front of Wooley's. Cheers, claps and what a turnout indeed for Max 111, a golden retriever. After the crowds dwindled I went inside this store and found some cool kid toys for the grandkids and a newborn puppy booties. I even bought a geode. read more

I was here a few months ago and visited the shop. They have so many hats and different things that say Idyllwild on them. Lots of coats and t-shirts even kids stuff etc. The hat that I wanted was a trucker type hat but because it's actually winter they took more of the warm things out and put away some of the summer type things (obvi)so I did not see the one I wanted. I did see a style that I could go for so I ended up with a pink one. I also got a few unique coasters. There was a lot of people in the tiny shop. The woman that checked me out said she's retired and gave the business to her son. She was pleasant given the chaos of the store being so busy! read more

We have been to Idyllwild many times, but we had never visited Wooleys until today. We needed to find a beanie for one of our sons. This establishment is quite interesting. They have a wide variety of cold weather gear, as well as wonderful locally made arts and crafts and decorations. Customer service and cleanliness of the shop is excellent. I was unhappy to see lots of products made from animal hides and skins. The worst were the hats made of raccoon fur and with raccoon tails! Kill raccoons to make them into hats? What a terrible thing to see nowadays. The store needs to modernize and grow a conscience. read more

One of a series of little giftshops in downtown Idyllwild. Mostly they sell clothing but they also sell some Idyllwild themed t-shirts, sweatshirts, magnets, and postcards if you're into that kind of thing (which I am). they were selling fairly generic-looking Idyllwild postcards for 40 cents each or 3/$1.00 which i believe another place down the street was selling for something like 50 cents! i'm not sure if the postcard pricing is reflective of their overall pricing, but it seemed like the best place to buy a postcard. also the post office is only two or three blocks away so you can send that postcard off too in the same walk. oh also this place has a restroom, which is nice. read more

Upon a visit to the Idyllwild today I needed to purchase a new mask and I really thought this store was fantastic. It is a very cool store that has everything and has that old time store feeling. Came here to get a sweater as my girlfriend was unprepared for the cold at our campsite nearby. The place is open later than the other stores and has reasonably priced and good looking sweaters for $26.95 if you need to get something warm in a pinch. The lady didn't pressure us and was friendly. read more

Deerskin gloves, wool slippers, serious winter jackets, plethora of hats, leather products, flannel, great gifts - also a youth and baby section too. It is the cutest gift and clothing store in the area. We were driving south and we decided to go off-road (off the main ones at least) People there are super friendly and they have quite a variety of gifts, from very affordable postcards to huge statues on the thousand dollars prices. It has a very inviting environment, it's like you never want to leave (plus it was cold outside) If you are in the area definitely make a stop there, you won't leave disappointed. read more

My wife and I have been customers of this store for many years. We've always used our frequent trips to Idyllwild to drop in and purchase the interesting merchandise. Sue and Denise are always so warm and helpful. Sometimes we may simply buy socks (Wooleys own brand & mohair winter socks.) OR sweaters, scarves, shoes and such. Our last visit - 8/20/2016 (Idyllwild Jazz Festival weekend) we stopped in to visit. We bought new hats (& socks:)). I inadvertently left my old (Tilley Airflow)hat in the store when I wore my new Scala straw out. I called Wooley's and spoke with Denise who remembered us and our hats. Sue and Denise then arranged to ship my old hat to me. It arrived today. Pam, Sue & Denise are loyal to their customers. I'm sure this is not the only instance of such generosity of spirit. A fun and wonderful shop owned by a woman who was friendly, informative, and so helpful when my husband & I confessed to her that we had only just arrived in Idyllwild the night before...but that our cat, whom we brought along with the dog for a family vacation, had busted out a window screen and escaped from the back deck. Ack! Fortunately, the cat returned later that day, hooray! (That was the end of his independent vacation time.) Like many other businesses in Idyllwild, this shop is also dog-friendly -- our pup was excited to go inside (for AC on a hot day!) with us. The store is stocked aplenty for guys and gals, and there are dog-themed gift/collectible items as well. We purchased a retro-style dog poster metal print, and also pair of sunglasses for me. This was our first trip to Idyllwild, but we look forward to returning on future visits! read more

If you want any of the things this small town shop carries then I recommend it. They have hats, gloves, scarves, leather goods and sheepskin products such as Bear Paw boots (fake ugg boots) and Nepal style shirts. The owner was very helpful and gave excellent service as customer service goes. I would shop here more if it had more things I needed. Cute mountain town shop. read more

Met the most charming and lovely lady while visiting this berg for their annual tree lighting. I believe her name was Sue and she was so helpful and attentive to me and my grandchild. The selection here is great. Yes they are a bit pricey but they have items thats cannot be found elsewhere. Wooley's is an great place to shop for leather goods, artisan jewelry and clothing. I make a point to shop there every time I visit Idyllwild - which is often. The staff is always friendly and helpful and I've yet to walk out the door without a gift for family members or myself. read more

Denise also went out of her way to replace an earring I lost from a set I bought there. She's got her own line of gemstone earrings and jewelry that you won't find anymore, and the price is very affordable. Earrings for $20.And they're locals so they know everything about the area. I was very happy to see this store, and to discover all it's cute treasures. It's not too touristy and sells local art pieces for a cheaper price then galleries around. Most of the things inside are locally made or shipped from exotic places (which isn't reflected in allot of the prices which is nice- nothing really overpriced like you find in allot of touristy places.) The staff and owners are great and a lady walks around most of the time to help you and give you useful tips about Idyllwild. Bought a pair of mukluks and a beautiful scarf from India.
