FRAUD my mom subscribed back in May for 6 months, the first week she never received the newspaper so they extended her subscription for a week, all of a sudden mom gets a bill in the mail. She didn't ask for nor did she want the premium but they took the liberty to add it to her account. So her 6 month subscription turned into only being not even 4 months, if you count the no shows. I hope you all are proud of yourselves for cheating an elderly woman out of money. Ooohh don't forget, on top of it all, the delivery man delivers when he fells like it. deceptive practice by the worcester telegram i signed up for 52 weeks of sunday telegram on august 14 2019 then they stopped delivering paper on 12/29/19 when i called the said subscription ran out was told i am paying for cross word puzzles and other things additional $9.00 each time when i called i spoke to someone from florida big help that was and when i didn't get delivery no one ever showed up with replacement like someone from florida would bring me a replacent paper .worcester telegram is a joke operation.all it is a scam.zero rating is all they are worth.they wonder why no one gets newspaper anymore.they need to get there act together read more

I am at my wits end. I have tried to contact the T&G via email and they never go through. I am completely fed up with the absolutely terrible delivery of the morning paper. I have on numerous occasions advised them of this via different methods and nothing is be done to correct the problem. It is consistently late and on a few occasions I did not receive it at all. I really like the paper, It has the best coverage for central Massachusetts. My problem is with the home delivery. I was told that I would have delivery before 6 AM daily. This has not been the case. It would arrive by 6 AM about half the time. The kicker was when I did not receive a Sunday paper the week of Thanksgiving. There is no way to contact Customer Service because they are closed on Sundays. Not a happy camper. read more

I purchased a one-year subscription for the paper edition of the Worcester Telegram as a Father's Day gift in June 2020. Delivery began immediately, within 2 days of my purchase. The delivery service was consistent, and the delivery person never missed a day. The reason for my low review is as follows: The cost was a special offering at that time, $208 for a year. To my surprise, I began to receive subscription renewal notices in December 2020, noting that the subscription would expire on 12/12/2020, approximately 6 months into the 1-year subscription. When I called to inquire, I was told that, if you accepted "extra", "special" paper items, delivered with your paper, that would reduce your subscription period. I pointed out that I had neither requested nor okayed that; indeed, we never knew we were receiving anything "extra" (which were never identified as "extra", or optional; and deny delivery... to whom? Leave the item at the end of the driveway?). The customer service response was that this is usually included in the fine print when you sign up for a subscription.. In the end, the Telegram was delivered daily until the end of January 2021, so we received 7 months of the 1-year subscription. read more

I added 13 more weeks to my subscription on june 6,2019. I have not recieved a sunday paper since. I call every Sunday and I get the same run around promising me they are working on it. I am living in an elderly high rise with 15 floors. Doesn't anyone in this building get a paper? I am in a wheelchair and on oxygen I can't get out to get a paper so every week I call one of my married children to go out and buy me a paper. I pay $4.50 for that paper on top of what the Telegram has from my subscription..I am on fixed income and can use that money for other things like food or rent. I am tired for the same old comments that they are letting the district manager know about my problem. Last week they said they would have someone call me. Guess what no calls surprise surprise. I have has a subscription with these people for over 20 years and this is how they treat me! I have no complaints regarding the paper; however, the customer service department is horrible. I spoke to one employee today named Joselyn and she was very disrespectful and spoke over me every time i tried to speak. I asked to speak to a manager/ supervisor and she said one was not available. We have been receiving our neighbors paper for over a month now (we are located on road, them on circle) and Joselyn told me that her notes said "our account had been cancelled and that we aren't receiving papers". She got snappy with me when I told her that we received a paper today still. I even mentioned to her that I knew it wasn't her fault, i was just trying to get the situation resolved. I've worked in customer service for over 15 years and this poor experience has made me post of yelp and write the president of the Worcester telegram & gazette.... read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! I subscribed to 6 months of the Sunday paper and paid for the entire subscription, when I started to receive the paper daily instead of only on Sunday's I called; I was assured that my subscription was only suppose to be for Sunday and was told they would adjust it. I still received the paper daily, so after a week (thinking it was maybe a delay in getting the information to the delivery person) I called again.... this occurred 3 times, and finally they got it right. Well at least I thought they got it right until I received a bill 6 weeks into my subscription. When I called I was told that because I changed the subscription from Sunday to daily the price went up and I owed that money for the past papers I received. I explained what took place and how I never wanted the paper daily, and that I have called 4 times and explained this, and everyone assured me it was all set. I was told I would get a credit to take care of a portion of the bill but that any future deliveries I would be billed again. I requested to just end the subscription, I didn't want to pay any more than I already have when I didn't even get the paper for 1/2 of the term I paid for I decided it was best to cut ties and buy the paper at the store when I wanted it. I was told, they would credit the account and stop the paper. Well... the paper stopped but the bill did not and I received a call from their billing department looking for payment... at 9:30 AT NIGHT. I told them I cancelled my subscription and that I should not have a bill. They said "ok I will note your account, bye" I quickly said "WAIT! I want to make sure this is taken care" he rudely said well I cannot do anything about it, I asked to speak with a manager and was told that I needed to call back during the day. So... my attempt to speak with a manager went one for quite some time; 4 calls made each of them being on hold for over 30 minutes and the call disconnecting... 2 1/2 months after ending my subscription I finally get a manager on the phone. She explains to me, that the bill was not for the subscription being changed from Sunday to Daily but in fact it was due to some extra inserts I supposedly received. I asked if that was something I signed up for? She said no, they just get added occasionally and then get billed. She assured me that she would take care of the balance. FINALLY!! I was excited to be done with this - I felt like I finally talked to someone who listened, cared and got the problem resolved. WELL GUESS WHAT!!! the very next day, I woke up to a paper on my door step, my first thought... ugh!! not this again! So.... I called, AGAIN! I got someone on the phone, I explained I didn't sign up for the paper and I wanted to make sure I was not billed. He tells me that the paper is part of a grace period through March. WHAT! What does that mean, he says you will get the paper every week through March then you will have to pay for it! NO! NO! NO! I DO NOT WANT THE PAPER!!! He explains he will cancel my subscription (the one I never requested). I asked about the paper I received yesterday, he says you will be billed for that; but its only $1.80 (or whatever the cost was) I tell him I do not want to pay for it because I never requested to get the paper. (its not about the $1.80, its the principle at this point, I have already over paid for the paper that I never received). He said "OK, I will credit your account; have a good day." "WAIT!" I shouted, because I was not going through this again; I asked to speak with a manager..... and here I wait on the phone 47 minutes and counting ---- fingers crossed I do not wake up next Sunday; or any other day to a Telegram & Gazette paper at my door!! read more

My subscription expired but they still delivered the paper for a couple months after. Now they send a bill and expect me to pay for those papers. I called the 800 number and they're telling me I should have notified them that I am cancelling my subscription but since I didn't notify and papers were still being delivered I need to pay for those papers. I told them I am not paying for something that I did not order and that I had to pick up that trash that was appearing on my lawn and throw them out every day. The paper was horrible and the customer service is horrible. I asked to speak with a supervisor and she told me one would call me back today. We'll see........ read more

Great daily newspaper with talented writers and photographer. They serve a huge population fairly using good journalism ethics. Their online is coming along with some slideshow and video content. This publication is the best source for up to date news in the area. read more

I would give them a negative star if I could. In December, they took our money for a year's subscription. Now, they raised the rates, and are telling us that we need to re-up 5 months early. We have had the Worcester Telegram delivered for 30 years. The newspaper industry has fallen on tough times and we understand the struggles that they have to deal with. We have always especially valued the thought full balanced editorials they have published. In the past year especially all we see are re-tread articles from the Washington Post and increasing partisan editorials from third rate local authors. (not talking about the nostalgic articles). I'm not sure they even have editors who read local articles - errors that make it through a spell check but would embarrass a good editor make it through to print. I've loved the paper for so long but the quality paper I once knew is gone. A dedicated reader is lost forever. read more

I'm giving 1 star but really cannot give that. I signed up for 13 weeks delivery. They cashed my check on October 3, it's November 8 and I have yet to receive a paper. I have email, left voice messages, spoke to a person on the phone, and still no delivery. I got someone on the phone yesterday her name was Ashley, who said they would try another way to deliver my paper. I said why don't you just send me my money back and we'll call it a day. She said she'd have to charge me nine dollars because that's the fee to send the mailing to my house that got me to sign up for the paper delivery in the first place. I said you sent me an unsolicited advertisement, how do you expect to charge me for it. She had no answer for this, I asked to speak to a manager. She said she would have one contact me. You probably already guessed no one has called. I enjoy getting the paper delivered, I'm old-fashioned in that I actually want to read the paper. The Worcester telegram is apparently not set up for this kind of program. read more

The thing I do not like about the Telegram and Gazette is that they are VERY ARBITRARY about the comments they allow the readers to make on line. Some subjects, you can say near anything you want...other subjects not so much. I believe they have a bias in certain areas. I do not recommend this paper..I say go to one of the Boston Papers. read more

Paid for a year in advance for my Sunday only paper due to issues with the T&G delivering my Sunday paper and tossing it anywhere causing nme to run over it breaking my snowblowers sheer pins many times during the winter of 2015 into 2016. The paper no longer delivered anything but the Sunday paper, no special papers, no holiday papers etc.. I was paid in full through August of 2017 and due to an increase 6 months after they were paid in full for a year they pulled my date back to April 2017. This is the cost of doing business and getting your customers to pay a year in advance. I am not getting interest and now the T&G has had my money for 6 months and are reducing my Sunday only paper by 6 months. The T&G really shows they cannot be trusted as a company! Their call center isn't even here it is in CT not Worcester Mass. They will honor the bill payment a year in advance or they will never see a dollar from me again. read more

My MIL loved this paper when she lived in Dudley. However, she has moved outside the delivery area and after trying for over a month to get the paper delivered or mailed to her, well, it wasn't happening, we were told it would be delivered (not likely since we are an hour away,) then it would be mailed, it wasn't, then I called and was told they don't mail them, they do, right after that she got a 1 paper. I requested it be canceled and a refund send, now 4 months later and I am STILL trying to get her money refunded. Every time I call its a new song and dance. Horrible way to run a business. When I ask to speak to a manager I'm told they are not available and they will call me back. I was told that 3 time and have NEVER received a call from anyone. I've worked in CS, I've worked in management and I've worked in an accounting department. How hard is it to follow through? No very unless you've no intention of doing so. read more
