Each and every stay has been very pleasant. Students from the university work the front desk and valet along with the onsite restaurant. While the hotel could use some renovations, the students make the stay worth while. I haven't had any major issues and when something came up, they were quick to correct them. We even got to use it for our rehearsal and we started setting up the day before (huge stress saver)! Sparrow has so many great outdoor ceremony options. With the wedding taking place in March in OK, we opted for indoor. I am so glad we did! It was perfect. Chandler was available by call or email any time I needed him. We also got to rent the decor shed which had so many cute things that we would've had to buy otherwise. Like there's a silo (I think that's what it is?) right outside the venue and also train tracks right outside too. It definitely feels like you are in a more or less secluded area, even though it's very much still in Edmond. The ground outside the venue was mostly large gravel up closest to the entrance, and small gravel further away (like where most people ended up parking). It wasn't the most level ground, which made it a bit difficult for those of us in high heels! It also didn't help that it had rained earlier that day, so there were tons of puddles... so many that you could barely avoid stepping in dirty water, not to mention the wetness paired with the gravel paired with tall shoes just made for a slightly wobbly walk inside. Not the worst thing ever, but if I were the venue, I'd definitely consider paving more of the ground outside to counteract this! There is a small deck type thing out of the front. They have stairs and also a ramp up to this deck which leads to the front door entrance. Inside was smaller than I expected it to be, but it definitely fit everyone that came to the wedding and the reception. It has sort of a mix of the cute country vibe and the fancy warehouse vibe thing going on. I believe you could see the bricks inside, and there were also barn doors on the windows just for example. There was a small balcony in the back. From what I could tell the only way to get up to the balcony was by stairs. Then through a hallway in the back they also have bathrooms and a groomsmen room and bridesmaids room. Because the ceremony and reception were both here, we had to all go outside to wait for them to switch from rows of chairs to tables. I'm not sure if the venue itself was in charge of doing this, or some outside third party, but it didn't take too long (maybe 10-15 minutes). Luckily, we had food and a coffee bar to keep us occupied while waiting for this switch.

I don't usually leave negative reviews, but this stay was beyond disappointing. The hotel was…read moreoverbooked by five rooms, and despite having a confirmed reservation for two queen beds, we were given the last unoccupied room in the hotel, a king room. We specifically needed two beds, but the front desk clerk didn't care at all -- as we checked in at 2am she was only interested in the fact that we were last check-in for the night. The room smelled musty and was dirty, showing a clear lack of upkeep and cleaning standards. After our stay, when we called to complain, the general manager told us we should consider ourselves lucky we even got a room and that we "did not get charged for the upgrade" to a king suite, as if giving us the wrong room type was some kind of favor. She also admitted that she routinely overbooks the hotel and does not honor room type reservations, then claimed it wasn't her fault because "third parties overbook the property." This explanation either shows she doesn't understand how her own business works or is just purely interested in maxing revenue to the detriment of customers, since overbooking is a deliberate hotel practice, not something that magically happens. Even one of the front desk employees later acknowledged that the hotel was overbooked and said the situation "should have been handled better." To make things worse, IHG corporate seems completely unable to do anything about franchisees who operate in this manner, leaving guests stranded and frustrated when management refuses to take responsibility. I've stayed at many IHG properties over the years, and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. I would avoid this property entirely as it is highly likely that if you are able to get a room at all it will not be the type of room you reserved and it will no doubt be dirty and smell awful. In addition, you might want to just avoid all IHG properties in general.

The staff member was sitting at a table in the lobby eating take out and watching tv on his phone, and he left me standing at the desk for a long time before coming to check me in. I don't think there was an employee at the counter the entire 3 days I was at this hotel. They were always either hiding in the office or hanging out with friends/eating in the lobby. When I finally got into my hotel room, the shower curtain was covered from top to bottom in dirty hand prints like in the picture. I understand that everyone is understaffed these days and it must be hard to keep up with the cleaning demand, but this was egregiously dirty. I called the front desk to ask to explain the situation, and the staff member was barely apologetic, and I had to ask for a new room - it was not offered to me. The next morning, there wasn't much food at the continental breakfast. The pancake machine was broken. The cereal dispenser was almost empty. The fridge barely had any food or drink in it. However!! I will say -- the sausage gravy and biscuits are actually so delicious. I was shocked at how good it was. I'm not giving this hotel 1 star because there were a few staff members who were very kind and polite throughout the stay. I probably won't ever stay here again when I am back in Stillwater for work travel.

I've attended crafty classes, hand lettering classes, and cookie decorating classes at The Collective. It's easy to find, plenty of parking, and a safe area. They offer a kitchen, WiFi, work space, bathroom, and security system for their members. It's a very bright and open space, which I like. It definitely gives off a productive vibe and it's fun to be around other women and accomplishing things. Definitely a great space and fills a need in the community.
