When Grandma says to take the kid to karate lessons, you do what she says. My wife and I began the search for an ideal environment to enrich the life of our daughter. We attended a few introductory lessons at other facilities and did quite enjoy them. However once we attended WCC we knew it was the place for us. The staff is attentive and professional. The education on respect, patience, focus, and a vast array of other important life skills makes every lesson worth while. Do not enroll into here and stay away from this place! To be honest, In terms of class, it's great. But in terms of business and how they operate, it's a SCAM. They will let you sign contract for first year AND THE CONTRACT WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY REVIEW WITHOUT YOUR ACKNOWLEDGMENT unless you really spend time to read their contract word by word. And they will automatically charge you for monthly fee start from second year even you told them you do not want to continue the class anymore. They will not tell you there is a cancellation form until the first hundreds of dollars due balance letter send to your home. Guess what no matter what you explained they will tell you you didn't sign the cancellation form. Meanwhile they work very closely with a credit collection agent if you do not agree the agent will continue to help them to accumulate the charge until you give up. So, stay away from this place. I asked for 1 month of classes put in my 30 day notice of cancelation on the day of signing up and they have already tried to charge my credit card $400. After the month was over the continue to try to charge my card for $200 a month. Every month I am dealing with this to let my four year old try to see if he liked taekwondo. I never write reviews or comments, but this company is truly a fraud. There are plenty of other places to send your kids in the Tampa area to learn martial arts. Absolute scam artists. They will auto renew your after school care for the life of your kid if you don't fill out a cancellation form. If you tell them you're not coming back, they don't offer up the cancellation form knowing they're gonna scam money out of you until you figure it out and they WILL NOT refund you even though THEY KNOW what they're doing is wrong. My daughter started taking taekwondo at the World Champion Center in January. We are very impressed with the instruction she receives and the level of care shown by the Masters. During the school year, they pick her up from school, make sure her homework gets done and teach her taekwondo, as well as respect, focus and commitment. They also worked with her individually so she could compete in the Sunshine State Games and she won a gold medal. We are very pleased and highly recommend you check it out. They offer a free trial class or you can come and just watch. They also have a summer camp with classes, trips and swimming. We quickly felt part of WCC and highly recommend it. read more

HORRIBLE!!! They charged me for 2 months while the business was closed for COVID. When I called about the charges, Jessica told me how they called all their clients to see if they wanted to put their account on hold or attend online Zoom classes for Taekwondo instruction. She admitted that most people put their account on hold. I explained that I NEVER received a phone call or had a message left asking if we wanted to put our account on hold. Furthermore, I explained that we did not opt in for Zoom services, did not attend any Zoom classes, nor is that what the contract for services covered. She refused to return all my money, eventually saying that she was going to refund only one month and the other she will hold for a future month of service. The whole conversation was lengthy because she took time to stall and think of excuses why she did not want to refund my money. In the meantime, I had already pre-paid for the summer program, so they were holding over $1,300 for that. When my husband previously called about what procedures they would have in place to protect the children if we kept our son in their summer program, there was more stalling, no answers, and a question back to us asking why we wanted to know! DUH!!!! It's a pandemic and people are dying. Do we really need to answer why we would be concerned? At that point we cancelled Taekwondo services and the summer program. We were told our check was in the mail. Not surprising that we haven't received it yet. I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS SHADY BUSINESS!! 6/10/20 - Update: I was told to come in on 6/9 to pick up a check for my summer program refund (after waiting over 2 weeks for a check Jessica "supposedly" mailed). She wanted my husband to sign a document saying we were receiving a full refund when that is not what the check was written for. We simply asked for the explanation to be listed on the document as to why it was not a full payment. Jessica refused to write that on the document she wanted us to sign and furthermore, refused to give us any of our money back at that point! We signed a contract for both of our girls. 3 and 10yrs. We were told we would be able to return on or before a certain date to make a final decision. We returned on said date, choosing to only continue with the older child. We were told read your contract you should have come yesterday. Annoying but our bad...should have read it. So we need to do 3 loss of interest appointments for the little one. We made the appointment and brought them both back. After waiting 45 min they finally decided it was time to talk to the overly upset 3yr old...long story short...she came home in tears and hid in a closet. My child has never acted this way! Ever! This mama bear is more than upset. Need less to say, we won't be continuing the older child's martial arts training here either. I'm writing this review while waiting for our second loss of interest appointment. The sooner we are done with this place the better. read more

We've only been here for a few months and in that little time I've seen so much improvement in my child. All the staff are so nice and helpful and even in a crowded class I really feel my child gets quite a bit one on one help. They make it so fun for the children that my son gets excited for every class. I also love how their schedule works so well with our busy schedule. read more

The Masters are great, son loved the introductory class but they only offer a 30 month contract. It's hard to commit to 30 months when you don't know if the child will still be interested in 2 1/2 years. If there was a shorter term contract we would have signed him up bc he loved it! read more

I do believe the trainers are competent and the environment is good for young learners, as I too grew up in martial arts overseas. However the business dealings are very flawed. We came into contact with World Champion Center of Collier Parkway at a fall festival at the Grove and was marketed with a free trial. We took our children to the free trial and by the end they asked us to sign up. I told them at the time that I don't believe it's something we could do, due to our family's chaotic schedule to begin with. The instructor assured me that we can get the paperwork started, that I won't be charged anything until we say whether or not its something that will work for us. He went on to say children can continue for two weeks and cancel if we don't think its for us. My wife had to drop the children off and leave the day of the free trial and I had to meet the kids there to pick them up, which I reiterated with the instructor during the paperwork is probably why we won't commit. Less than a week later after being unsuccessful at taking the kids back to the facility (not even once not even to drive by the place) I made multiple calls to cancel and CONTINUOUSLY was told that the business manager needed to call me back. After being given the run around for 3 days I had my wife go up to the facility and return the unworn GI's back to facility and cancel in person any and all further involvement as the instructor said was sufficient to cancel. The same instructor that claimed I needed to wait for the "Business Manager" to call me back mysteriously was now the BM (I know it was the same person because I recognize the Korean accent. My mother is Korean so I know) and refused to take back the GIs and treated my wife unfavorably to where she felt the need to call me at work. Over the phone I expressed to him that our children have not ever once been back since the free trial and his answer is that he cannot track who comes and who doesn't even though I personally seen sign in sheets for the participates at the day of the free trial. He also stated I had two weeks to cancel and I told him we came on the 13th I called several times before the 20th and my wife is there in front of you today and today is the 19th. Before getting off the phone he stated he will call me back which he never did UNTIL........ After I disputed the charges with my bank the instructor/business manager FINALLY called and requested that I reverse the dispute and he will write me a check for the refund because he didn't want a returned check fee and it would be more convenient for them to just write a check. I told him at that time I cannot do that (the bank already processed it). I reviewed the fact my wife was there on the 19th and that my account should've been refunded then but he failed to comply. For whatever reason since the "cancellation", even though we made multiple attempts to do so via phone calls and in person, the facility is now continuously calling me and writing letters stating I owe +$500 for classes they never went to and cancelled within a week of "starting paperwork." Now I have another letter stating they will turn it over to the attorneys if I don't pay. I am posting this to detail how they do business and forewarn people what they may be facing. This message will also be the same one I send to corporate to elaborate that this has become harassing at this point to write or call me anymore on a closed matter that was dealt with in October. It's January and I just received another letter and it may be time to seek a lawyer to deal with their unethical business dealings with potential clients. I hope this helps whoever decides to read it. Everything I wrote is true and just. I do not wish to appear as though I'm slandering them because I'm upset but I'm writing this to express my experiences with this location of WCC. They seem like great Taekwondo practitioners and educators but their business practices are shady at best in my personal experiences. read more
