This is what he's done for me and my wife: My wife loves to hear me sing. Derek and I met about 10-12 times in the parking lot of Lowwes in secret because I wanted to surprise my wife with a CD full of love songs that I sang for her and she loved it. Derek walked me through the process: choosing a quality Karioke microphone, recording song on my phone, giving phone to him where he put all songs on a CD and sim card, showing me how to operate mic, sim card, and USB port. He even took the time to give clear and written step by step directions for everything whild always maintaining personal and professional patience. A number of Downriver tech support businesses are incredibly dishonest; I've gone to a few…read more(including one which stole our new, authentic powercords and replaced with an off-brand, chewed up one they said was ours and put bloatware on our PC!), but I was incredibly relieved to have run into this one. I did a dumb thing that I knew was a dumb thing and my PC suffered for my transgression. I called them because a different place I was originally going to call didn't answer and I'm really glad this one did. First and foremost this is FEMALE FRIENDLY which seems like a silly thing to highlight, but based on the other places I've been to, you either get creeps or people who talk down to you. They didn't here and were both kind and professional, a rarity in any business. Secondly, they ran me through some things I could do on my own for no charge. Let me reiterate this, an employee of this business, for no charge, offered me a solution that their business specialized in. This is above and beyond and again, for free. This is as honest and considerate as it gets, especially in a field where people tend to take advantage of those who know less than they do. If you're looking for somewhere that actually is honest and affordable (I was given a quote for the issue and it's cheaper than other places -- especially if you take advantage of the coupon they have on Yelp!), this is the place to go in my vast experience dealing with family members and their messy PCs. The issue I have goes further than what I had initially thought, so I'll be taking it in to them and reporting back but in the meantime, in terms of actually dealing with a variety of Downriver PC businesses (for phones, gaming systems, and PCs), this was definitely the least painful experience I've ever had, including using Best Buy's Geek Squad for a family member. The experience was pleasant enough that I felt hopeful and am willing to write this much on Yelp over it. :)

They left our previous providers account active in our system, many of our machines did not have the previous vendors monitoring software removed and visions installed, the backup of our information has not occurred for more than 45 days and I had to notify them, active directory was never cleaned up from out previous vendor, and the list goes on. In addition there were no security group setup to limit access to certain websites and streaming services - something our new vendor did from day one. They definitely have the right intent and the techs are very nice, however the execution leaves much to be desired. We were Leary at first because we were one of their largest customers in total seats. Smaller companies would prob be ok.
