This location of Menards is huge…read more It's two story with a cart escalator. I didn't even know such a thing existed. But, at good ol' Menards? It sure does. I have a love/hate relationship with most locations of Menards. The love: They have literally everything. Their stores are packed with anything you may need for any DIY project you're considering, whether it's an indoor plumbing project our an outdoor landscaping adventure--they've got everything you need. The hate part comes in with the same note--they are so large and have so much stock that it's always a bit hard to navigate. So, exemplary service comes in clutch. Unfortunately, in my opinion, that's where many locations of Menards falls short. Not so, at this location! We were on the hunt for something specific, enlisted the aid of a worker who walked us to the aisle and made sure we found what we needed. Hurray! Get to it!

I have purchased several pieces of 1/4" mild steel, steel bar and pipe for projects in my garage (picture of my heavily used workbench provided) and shop, and an aluminum bar to enhance the security of my patio door (replacing a plastic strip). Big box and hardware stores typically don't have the size of metal that I need, they won't cut to size, and their prices are always 2x to 3x more than Speedy Metals. I would guess that most of their customers are industrial and commercial, but even so, they have had no problem whatsoever with my smaller orders. Quality metals, great service, fast, and great prices. I would recommend them without hesitation.

That includes equipment, fixtures, jigs, hand tools, finishes, and a whole lot more. They usually have staff available to help you out as soon as you enter the front door. On this trip I was looking for specific sanding drums for a Rigid benchtop sander. They had exactly what I was looking for, and the price was reasonable, which you can't say about everything there. If you are a woodworker, you really need to check this place out. Bring your checkbook, or Visa or Mastercard.

Lots to learn about craft and larger project wise. Quite an impressive selection and range of tools and other materials. The staff (two gentlemen) were very friendly and knowledgeable. I did notice flyers for a variety of classes they offer for the public. I'm curious to see what I could learn to build. Making as an activity is always fun! They also help you bring your purchases curbside to your car. Which is helpful as some of what you can buy is very large and/or heavy. Neat learning experience!
