Once inside, you will be able to rent/buy any equipment that will get you (safely) up the walls. It had been a long time since I climbed so I did take the quick belay course $6 and was climbing up the wall in no time. If you just want to climb on the shorter walls (called bouldering) you will not need to have a harness or take the class. You will need to buy a day pass $10 or some other membership. Shoe rental is $4 and I skipped that as I did it in a pair of vibram five fingers shoes. The only other cost for rope climbing is for a harness ($4). So, for either $20 or 24 you can find yourself climbing up one of the various walls, each with its own unique challenge. Some of the walls are really difficult and some are just difficult enough that you will feel really proud of yourself if you can reach the top. And pay no attention to those around you that scale the walls like spiders, they were just like you once. The vibe is really chill and people are friendly and able to offer advice if you need it. I recommend taking breaks every once in a while so that your arms can rest and watch other climbers. My best tip is to use your legs, they are much stronger than your arms and will really get you up the wall. Climbing is very challenging and I really find it both frustrating and rewarding. You will have fun (go with some friends: they do have group rates) and get a workout too!

The campsites are a good size and are all in the woods, which we prefer. The bathrooms are super simple, but the women's restrooms are impressively clean. My husband did say that the men's restrooms were pretty much unusable though. I have not used the showers, so I can't speak to those. The price is good and I am happy to support a state park. We also haven't gone down to the lake or used any of the other park amenities yet, but look forward to trying them out. Each campsite has a firing and a picnic table and a paved driveway, perfect for our truck top tent. My only complaint so far is that the last time we stayed, there was a dog who truly barked without ceasing the entire time, with the exception of quiet hours because it was taken inside to sleep. I understand the dogs are allowed in the campground and that they bark, but we weren't able to relax, and the campground wasn't peaceful because the barking was that bad. I do wish there was some sort of policy for this. However, this won't deter us from coming back because I do believe it was a coincidence.

I have volunteered at Sarajevo Farm (Springboro, OH) for over a year now. It took me several…read moremonths to identify an equestrian farm that met all of my expectations; a place that is family-oriented, responsible, caring and safe. After meeting the owner, Ms. Bobbie Henderson, and hearing her beliefs regarding teaching horses and people, I knew that I had found the right place for me. Bobbie believed that individuals should earn the right to ride; understand and bond with a horse, learn to ride utilizing natural horsemanship concepts and theories, and understand what it takes to own one of these beautiful creatures. Showing up just to ride does not provide the knowledge and skill needed to truly understand, and successfully ride a horse. Thus, everyone taking riding lessons 1) learns proper horse handling, grooming and tacking, 2) contributes to keeping the tack and barn clean (mainly light sweeping), and 3) carries out responsible behavior through learned leadership skills. Through this process, I've had the pleasure of observing young people with high anxiety, short attention spans, and self-assurance issues gain much-needed confidence when given the responsibilities of understanding and caring for a horse. It is absolutely amazing process to watch!! I believe in Sarajevo Farm, their purpose and instruction process, and hope to be with them for years to come.
