So glad my boyfriend and I found this little hidden gem! We walked in to check out dining chairs because we saw a sale sign on the window. We ended up spending a half hour looking at everything in the store. We found tons of stuff we want to come back and purchase. They buy stuff from around the world. So if you find something you like, buy it soon because there is a chance they won't have it again. They have everything from home decor and kitchen utensils to food and jewelry. Lots of random items and food from tons of different countries. We asked the staff several questions and they were very helpful. So we definitely didn't have the same experience of not being able to locate staff or managers like other yelpers did. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend anyone to check it out. When we selected a bistro table, we were informed by a sales associate that we would need to purchase a returned table that had been marked as a "Manager's Special" before a new table could be sold. The returned table was missing the wooden insert that covers the umbrella hole. We put the chairs, umbrellas and umbrella base back. While I appreciate that the returned table was discounted, I was interested in purchasing a new, complete table. There was another complete table nearby, which made the situation even more confusing. The sign on the front said "furniture" so I went in to look for a desk but they didn't have desks and it looked like they had as much food for sale as furniture. I only bought a metal pot scrubber and a drink. I went to check out and the cashier asked me if I wanted to join the rewards program to get 15% off the first purchase so I said yes. He tells me to scan the QR code which doesn't work because my phone camera can be finicky with that. He then tells me to send them a text to join the rewards program which I don't know how to do because I only ever text people in my contacts. So he's then doing it for me and by now there's other people waiting because of this rewards program nonsense. When I finally get the text back from them asking me if I want their spam texts I reply no and then all of a sudden I'm no longer eligible for the 15% off. read more

I started shopping at the Fort Collins store a few months ago and I've been there on numerous occasions. I read the previous reviews of poor customer service in the past, and I'm happy to report that is no longer the case. I found the cashiers friendly and they know their job. The store itself is unique with all sorts of fun things to discover from around the world. They have Hungarian paprika! And English Christmas crackers! PG Tips tea! And more. read more

I went to World Market to pick up an online order. Jasmine, the store manager, made the process easy, she answered all of my questions and it was obvious that customer service is of upmost importance to her and her staff. I frequent this store and the staff is always friendly and polite to me. Tonight was an outstanding experience, so that's why I rated it 5 stars. read more

When I was a teenager growing up in California, Cost Plus was one of my favorite places to spend idle time. I loved going through the trinkets from all corners of the world, and it probably had more to do with dreaming of visiting exotic places than anything else. So it was interesting to visit the shop that just opened in Ft. Collins and see it through adult eyes. I can see now that many of the products they offer are mass-produced reproductions rather than imported products, e.g. decorative cast iron Japanese teapots for just $20 rather than the $50 or more that you'd spend on an actual import. Still, even the reproductions have their place -- I thought about buying an inexpensive nabe pot, and might actually go back for one. What I found most beguiling, though, was the imported food section. I'm sure I never noticed this section as a teenager -- after all, if I wanted Japanese sweets why would I get them at Cost Plus rather than the markets in J-town? Well, now that the nearest J-town is 70 miles away, and the local Asian market is not a pleasant shopping experience, it's nice to have another option for manju, Meiji chocolates, senbei, etc. The selection is haphazard, but there's stuff from all over the world as well as things I remember from childhood but haven't seen for years (Toffifay? Fruit Stripe gum?). Right now there are lots of Christmas items from around the world -- tins of cookies, marzipan, pannetone, etc. Fun to browse, and to taste. read more

Although this store is fun and an adventure to visit, I'm giving a low rating because of their atrocious customer service. Be prepared to take the blame if something goes wrong at the cashiers, their customer coupons don't actually work, and if you complain, don't expect even a simple apology. good luck! read more

Be sure and go here and get exotic chocolate brand, Vosges' new Wild Ophelia chocolate bars! They are cheaper than the main Vosges brand but the quality is the same. They have here a great hickory chocolate bar and a chocolate beef jerky bar! I prefer the bacon bar more but I was very excited to see this new chocolate series here! I have not seen it anywhere else but I am sure the few and far between of retail Vosges stores have or online but I am just as happy to go here and get them! read more

So I was hired to be a part of a secret shopper program and this place is bad. The staff don't know where a lot of their product is and they don't enforce mask mandate and have been reported to Larimer health department. They need better training and more precautions. read more

The last three times I've been here every person I ask for help has such a terrible attitude. They don't smile, they act like I'm an inconvenience to them. I'm super polite and thank them several times. Either it really sucks to work there, they are all extremely unhappy with management or they haven't been trained to help customers. I did meet one brunette at the register that was very sweet and helpful, but the people on the floor are really unhelpful. read more

I went in to purchase a table. Was confirmed on the price went home to get my truck came back (same day) and the table was $200 more than originally confirmed. Questioned the price and the manager fixed. The cashier " Taylor" seemed to have a HUGH issue with this. Would speak to me, just handed me my receipt and didn't say anything when I said "thank you!" Just slammed her drawer closed and walked away. I turned to her asked if something was wrong because clearly there was. And she continued to be that "nice fake rude" I told he manager on duty and he didn't seem to care one bit. Wow! I thought management was supposed to have the best customer service out of all the employees. I should probably verify if she is a "manager" but Pascal the "manager" has NO Customer Service skills and is snippy when anything is questioned regarding policies or needing explanation. Flat out rude would better describe it. Her co-workers are mortified, by the looks on their faces, at responses coming from her mouth but you can tell they are fearful of her backlash so they don't say a word. I'll order online next time if at all... Geeze, I guess the $4,000 I contributed in sales last year doesn't warrant good 'ol customer service. read more

My wife and I just moved to the area and have purchased a number of items from this World Market. Every time we are in we are greeted by polite, enthusiastic and helpful associates. Although it is a busy location I never feel rushed by the workers and feel that they genuinely want to help! Keep up the good work. read more

First impression: most of the employees do not know what is going on, nor what they even sell. I have been there three times now and if it wasn't for the last trip I would be giving this store 1 star. The first time I went in I could not find anyone to help me find anything. I was in the food section when I heard something over the intercom and a little lady with curly hair came out of the back somewhere looked right at me and just walked off to the front of the store. I tried to chase after her but my hands were full and she didn't hear me calling after her but a really nice tall lady, named Suzy, did. She came to help me and a man, named Ryan, came by with a cart load of boxes and gave me a handled basket so that was really nice. He also signed me up for the rewards program and gave me 10% off my purchase!! Besides not being able to find an employee I would have rated this trip a 5. However when I was ready to checkout the trouble began. The line was really long and it took quite some time to make my way up to the cashier. When I finally did several items were missing prices or had the wrong price. I now know that this is a common issue there. The cashier, Katrina, called a manager up, who turned out to be the same lady that came from the back and walked past me in the food section. She came back up from the back again, I assume, scanned her lanyard punched something in on the key pad and just walked off back to the back of the store instead of to an open register. I didn't get her name because she was gone both times before I even knew what was happening. The second time a few of my items did not have the prices on them and one item had the wrong price. The cashier called for assistance over the intercom, nothing, he called again, nothing, he called again and finally a brunette hispanic manager named Viola, shows up apologizing that she had been helping another customer. That was a total lie. I had been all over that store 3 or 4 times in the past hour and a half and never saw this lady once. When the cashier had finished explaining the issues, the manager looked confused and said "I didn't even know we sold that here, it must be new, let me go and check on this for you." (One little note here I had been looking at these little containers in the kitchen department the last time I was in so I know they had been there at least 2 months.) Then she left for another 5 or 10 mins only to report that she could not find the item and they were just going to give it to me for that price anyway. Good thing I am an honest person because that is twice I was given the price I said it was; the first manager didn't even go look. The last time I was in the store was the redeeming trip. A big tuff looking guy in a beanie with a southern accent, named Clint, greeted me with a smile and a good morning. He offered me assistance and coffee before I had even grabbed a shopping cart. He meanwhile had a big box over his shoulder helping someone out to their car. Just as I was about to look for someone to help me there he was again from around the corner and asked me how my coffee was. I bombarded him with questions and he knew everything! He told me about a tin of gingersnaps that were AMAZING and 75% off made by people who ride reindeer to work in Sweden!! I asked him about food from Poland, chocolate, tea, coffee, curry and he answered everything without blinking an eye. I finally stumped him on food from Switzerland he pointed me to VOS water then told me he would check with "his gourmet guy." Turns out this wasn't even his area. He later told me that he was the Furniture and Stock manager. I thought he was just a stock guy, then I thought he had to be the food guy, turns out he is running the show And Thank Goodness because I was loosing faith that anyone was running it. He was very perceptive, took my coffee cup when I had finished it and offered to refill it with another flavor, he took the table that I bought up to the register so I didn't have to haul it around the store, told me about double punch Wednesdays on coffee, and helped about 4 other customers in the meantime. Every time I turned around he was there and he and Ryan, the nice guy from the previous visit, unloaded a big cart before I left the food section. Then I go to check out and Clint is there as well. I was beginning to think he had a twin. I had the same pricing issues this time according to my receipt, but Clint knew the prices and corrected them before I even noticed. James, the "Gourmet guy" was really knowledgeable as well. He taught me how to make my own marinade using a few of their sauces. Turns out that Ryan knows where everything is as well. He helped me find several little kitchen utensils for a gift for my sister. Long story shorter. . . Clint, Ryan, Suzy, or James may be the only people there with a clue. Ask for them! After a handful of visits, I still can't quite tell what's going on in this store. Either the staff are wildly incompetent, or wildly mismanaged. While most of the floor employees seem to know enough about their products, if the item isn't on the floor then it might as well not exist. Once I asked a floor employee for help finding a particular pattern of their stacking mugs. While the associate quickly directed me to the stacking mugs, they were out of the pattern I wanted. However, she looked the mugs up on the store's computer, and said they were supposed to have 14 of the pattern I wanted in stock. She went to the back room to find them for me, and after waiting around the store for 20 minutes, I still hadn't heard anything else about the mugs. I tried to get in touch with a manager on duty, but after walking around the store for another 10 minutes, I was unable to find a single other employee, so I just left the store. On another occassion, I was at the store during the holiday season, when it was insanely busy. The line was wrapped around the inside of the store, although the cashiers must have been working hard because I got through the line in less than 10 minutes. During my wait, a woman who appeared to be a manger or general manager named Jackie was handing out ginger snaps, which was nice. But then, once I was close to the front of the line, I saw one of the cashiers ask Jackie for help on the register, so she could help another customer get some furniture unloaded from his car. Jackie then tells the cashier sorry, and that she didn't know how the register worked. She then continued to hand out cookies, which was a confusing response to one of her employees requests for help with a customer. I also find it a little ridiculous that the manager or general manager of a store has no idea how to run a register, and is unwilling to help her employees or customers. On yet another occassion at this store, it was early on a Tuesday morning, and the store was relatively empty. There was no line at the register, so after I was done shopping I didn't have to wait at all. Once I got to the register, I informed the cashier that I needed to make a return, which she assured me wouldn't be a problem. After she rang up my handful of items, she began to try to return the hand towel I had brought back. This is when the trouble began. She told me that she would need manager approval for the return, and called for a manager over the store intercom. After a solid few moments with no sign of a manager, the cashier called over the intercom again. Still no manager after another full two minutes. Then the cashier called for assistance for a third time. Almost immediately, the cashier's phone rang, she apologized to me, and picked it up. It was the manager, and the cashier informed the manager that she needed approval for a transaction. At this point I had become fairly impatient, as I then began to wait another five full minutes for the manager on duty to arrive. Finally, after waiting for what seemed like forever, a manager named Viola appeared from the back of the store. She only said a quick "Sorry," pushed past the cashier, punched in some numbers and scanned some kind of barcode, then told the cashier that if she needed help, to call a certain extension instead. I find it unacceptable that a cashier should have to ask three distinct times for help from her manager. This store definitely sells some relatively inexpensive and interesting products, but I have yet to have a pleasant shopping experience here, after the store having been open for at least 5 months. I would recommend taking your business where the management has some clue of what's going on. And Cost Plus should seriously reconsider the management choices it has made. read more
