World Market is always a nice scavenger hunt when you don't need anything and find goodies. When you return to get the product again, it's gone or priced much higher. I rarely find things they advertise that bring me in the store, but I come out with other things I'll enjoy. Some things are well made, some are "cheap trinkets in higher prices". Aisles are skinny and crowded and it's best to shop on weekdays. So I'd say it was "ok" not fabulous and I will return. read more

My husband and I visited this store a couple days after Christmas. The selection was great; the sales were even better. This visit was all about the coffee and noodles. Whole bean. Ground. World Market sells an imported shredded beets that my mom absolutely loves, so she ordered them ahead and we stopped in today to pick them up. It's a super easy process and while they do offer curbside, we popped in to see what else might be interesting. I headed directly to the wine and candies aisles, looking for interesting stuff. I found it in spades. Imported English candy, German chocolates, Japanese confectionary and all sorts of wines from regions I've never tried. So many choices! World Market also has tableware, glassware and large sections of decor and furniture. Much of it is quite expensive but it looks to be top quality. First time here on November 7th at around 2pm on Tuesday, went to this place and it was a very decent experience. Staff was friendly. We decided to buy some treats. The treats were ok. Store was clean and organized. Went in here looking for bourbon pecan ground coffee. Staff tried to find it for me since it was a seasonal fall ground up coffee and now in winter season. They tried looking for it on the floor all over, then checked the system and it said they had 15 items for it. They said it was probably in the back in a box somewhere and they'd look for it and the manager Ged or Jed took my number they would call me when they find it and get it and I can come in to purchase. Didn't hear back from them so I decided to call them on November 11th Saturday, at 2:07pm. They said they remembered me and that they still needed to get to the back and get to it once they find it they would call me. Still waiting for the phone call. Hoping they will call me. I love world market because it's like an inexpensive pier one or z gallerie..,So now I get out of my car, all mellow and some lady in a Prius on her cell with a Coexist bumper sticker almost mows me down..Then she gives ME a dirty look...So much for coexist...So now I am trying to get back to my Zen place ...The doors opens and I smell woods and floral and all the color and texture and all the stresses of the day melt away...I see sales, clearance and wish I had a bigger car...Two people asked if I needed assistance.... World Market is the Wind Beneath My Wings, the meatballs in my spaghetti. It's one of the places I must go to when I'm visiting the area. There are three in SW FL in Estero, Fort Myers, and Naples. There's none in Tampa. :-( No wonder I have to stop here before I head home. I'm in this store for hours, and it is hard to leave. I love it that much. I love the home decorations here, the foodie section, the alcohol section, kitchen, bathroom, and outdoor furniture here. They have cute bags, jewelry, accessories, trinkets, gifts. They have it all. Interesting market. A little like Pier 1 mixed with Steinmart, and small ethnic markets mixed in... German, Russian, Italian, British, Scandinavian... We went during the holiday season and found lots of the chocolates, teas, wine, beer, ornaments, cards that you probably would have had to visit half a dozen shops to find. And, the prices were good. We've been to another location in Ohio that was a bit better organized, but part of the difference could be the holiday season, and the fact that we were at this location late on a Sunday. The staff was noticeably busy restocking and organizing.... and despite that they were friendly and helpful. You will definitely find things here that are difficult to find. read more

We ordered a throw rug online which showed "Only three left" and "Pickup today". Waited 3.5 hours and no email stating it is ready. Went to the store and was told they just got the order and they don't have that carpet there. I said why did they show there were 3 left? Salesperson stated "That is the misconception people have. We don't have anything to do with online". Ma'am that is not a misconception, that is false advertising. I cancelled the order. read more

Fun store! They have a little of everything. The fun part was they have candy, cookies, treats, drinks (alcohol and non alcohol) from all different countries! There are dishes, furniture, drapes, rugs, the food items, tea sets etc there. Great place to shop if you are hosting a theme dinner party! Wish there was one on the east coast! read more

20January 2024 - I had a text message for 25% off of non-sale items. I took the ad to the store, where the staff was unable to download the 'in-store code' they said they needed after wasting 15 minutes of my time. So they said they could not give me any discount. The intent is clearly to scam customers by enticing them into the store with a promise of savings that they have no intention of honoring. I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in this regard for false advertising. I suggest that customers only shop with and purchase from honest merchants. read more

I've driven past this place a million times while visiting Fort Myers, but never stopped in. I can't believe I've never been in. I'm kicking myself in the butt now. I thought it was going to be like a Michael's inside, but I was completely wrong. It's like if Homegoods and Pier 1 had a baby they would have The World Market. I loved all the bottled soft drinks, juice, wine and beer, snacks, condiments, seasonings, candies, and more. Basically, the edible section of course. I love World Market and have bought furniture from the Fort Myers location in addition to regular visits for smaller items. I just visited at 7:57pm understanding they were closing in a few min to grab a last min item from the kitchen section in the front of the store. I had no intention of keeping anyone there late and knew I would be in and out quickly. As soon as I walked in the door the cashier yelled that they were closed. I would have understood if she had reminded us that they closed at 8, but it was clear she did not want us to continue into the store. Very disappointing and surprising considering the many positive experiences I've had in the past. read more

5 stars! Just imagine Home Goods, Pier 1 Imports, and Total Wine had a baby and your result is World Market! It is one of my favorite places to shop for household goods and some tasty vino. The furniture, art, and bath decor section is to your right, household goods and glassware is to your left. In the back you have a large selection of wines displayed perfectly, information and price specific for every bottle. They often have great deals on select brands and tend to have bundle deals available as well (for example, save 20% if you buy 4 bottles of red wine). Their beer section is smaller, but you can always find some fun craft beer brands in stock. Next to the wine/beer section is an awesome specialty foods section. You can find a variety of exotic and unique spices, sauces, baked goods, snack items, coffee, teas etc. I often leave the store with one specialty food item, even if I don't have any need for it, because it's fun to explore a little beyond my standard food shopping brands. The furniture and art sections are a bit on the pricier side, but the quality of their furniture is apparent. Found some great wicker baskets and a unique table lamp for our place. The center of the store tends to be focused on seasonal decor items. During the holidays you can find some very unique pieces, but again they can be a little pricier. As for their household goods, they are actually quite reasonable mainly, depending on what you are looking for. I picked up a set of quality snifter glasses for $3.99 each and was able to use a coupon as well. They have a small clearance section. Just make sure to check the items, as sometimes they are damaged or missing pieces, but you can get some really good deals! The employees are extremely helpful and ways have a very pleasant demeanor about them. The store itself is always clean and well-organized. We know everyone loves a little deal, so once you sign up for their email list you get great coupons sent to you --- often anywhere from 10-15% off anything in the store (minus alcohol) or $10 off $30 spent. I came in on Monday and was browsing the store. I just moved into a new apartment and have been looking for a couch. I found a couch that was on sale that I really liked so I decided to purchase it. When paying for the couch the worker didn't even ask for my name and number I had to ask him to write it down. I put the couch on hold and told him that I would be back the next day to pick it up with my boyfriend. My boyfriend and I drove 30 minutes to pick up our couch and when we got to the store the workers were very rude. We asked to get our couch and they had no idea what I was talking about, I told them that the guy from the day before wrote down my information, but they didn't bother with checking. I pointed to the couch that I was supposed to pick up and they said they would look in the back. The guy came out a few minutes later saying that I need to have the receipt to get it. We explained that we had just drove 30 minutes and asked if they could please just look it up on their system and I showed them the card that I used to purchase it. They would not check and said that they could not do that. It was very suspicious how they were acting so we asked if the couch is even here they said they don't know if it's here because they need the receipt to check. (Makes no sense) I understood needing the receipt for proof of payment so we drove back home and got it. We came all the way back to the store, gave them the receipt and they did not have the couch! We had wasted so much time and gas, I was furious. They said they would give me a refund, but we really wanted the couch. The associate called the Naples store to see if they had it. The Naples store claimed they had it so we drove 40 minutes to pick it up from Naples. We got the 2 couch boxes from Naples drove the hour home and started assembling our couch. Once we took both pieces out we realized that they had give us the same exact piece!! After all that we had been through why could they not have double checked to make sure that we were getting the correct couch? Needless to say I called corporate and will never be shopping there again. read more

This is one awesome store. I visit my folks for Christmas, and always insist we visit World Market. The prices are reasonable, and they have everything you could possibly need; from wine to throw pillows. It's a great, fun store to hit for stocking stuffers, greeting cards, unique holiday ornaments, kitchen gadgets, cool tableware, curtains, good wine, little furniture pieces, games, puzzles, kids' stuff. Really, you name it, I bet they have it. This is like Pier 1, without the gouge-your-eyes-out prices. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. This is the worst store ever!!!! I purchased an item online to pick up in the store. It arrived damaged. I took it back to the store and they stated I had to ship it back so I reached out to customer service via the phone. They asked if I had contacted customer service online. I wrote to customer service online only to be told I'd have to wait 1 to 2 weeks for a follow-up. After 2 weeks and no response I called the 877 line, but this time found out that the store was in fact responsible for replacing the merchandise. World Market has incredible stuff BUT and it is too big a but to over look, the customer service is more than subpar. read more

Lots of unique items and edibles. Great place to shop for goodies if you are making a gift basket for someone. I bought a really nice Moroccan hanging lamp there, as well as some odd kitchen items. One girl seemed not to care, nor did she know any answers. She had an indifferent attitude and the cashier seemed to not realise we had breakable items UNTIL we asked for it to double wrapped. I really enjoy this store. They have a wonderful selection and have a very expansive collection of food stuffs from other cultures. I also enjoy the various cookware and dishes that they have to prepare Asian cuisine.
