Boho chic furniture, Asian snacks, fancy teas, unique wines, and seasonal gifts all in one place. I needed to get a hold of myself because I could do some serious damage here lol. When you first sign up for their rewards, you get a $5 off coupon. Best believe I signed up. Then I made a second trip back; but this time visited a location in Fort Worth, TX. I got some Christmas ornaments and goodies. Overall, a magnificent place to either window shop or spend all your money! It's fairly priced and those pesky marketing emails come with coupons! This location has nice staff and tends to have a good selection. Word Market is one of my favorite places to buy gifts from for friends and family. Their Italian imports and German imports have nice selections. In particular, the Kimbo coffee is 10/10 and I haven't found anywhere else that sells it in the US. read more

Their store manager makes up her own rules. She refused to do a price adjustment on an item within the 10 day grace period. She claims because it was a holiday item. OK. I told her I understood and asked if I could return it. She speaks loud enough so she can try to humiliate me. She said yes, you can return them but I refuse to resell it to you. I called corporate and that is not a store policy! The cashier and the manager both told me the item was sold out. The site and store had 5 of these. Pic below! Shopping in Houston, Texas... This is another cool store that I learned about from my Los Angeles friends! Two years ago, World Market had Hello Kitty items. I bought tote bags, journals, plates, and more at that time - in Pasadena, California. Sadly, all of those items are gone now, so, we looked at new merchandise... There are cute pillows, fun kitchen gadgets, beautiful dishes, cool clothing, unique accessories, adult beverages, nice furniture, exotic carpets, and more! I got some useful recyclable tote bags to bring home as gifts! World Market in Houston has the most friendliest employees! Not to be confused with the place you get baby beds (Cots Plus), the PC place (Comps Plus), the stables (Colts Plus), and all the girls who don't like me (C**ts Plus). It's a good place for furniture if you have a lot of money to spend, which is weird because the name of the store suggests it's low price discount type stuff, but the fact that it's right between the Heights and Montrose should be a good sign that this is not a discount store. Those who like cheap deals, find them in another part of town. This is more high-end discount which isn't really discount. read more

Would love to love this store. Really would. Even as a longtime customer and a member of the rewards program, I continue to find it frustrating to shop there or get items easily online. Went in to buy a chair, and of course had my cart piled high with numerous other items. Found out: 1. My 20% off coupon would not be honored since the item was already on sale. 2. The item was not in stock. 3. When I found a similar chair that I liked just as well, it was not in stock either. 4. Although there are many employees, you have to find one who is doing some thing else to help you. Was told about the items that they were available to in other stores, and I could drive the distance to go find them and other stores. None were close by. They would not have an item sent to the store. They would not sell me the chair I wanted from the floor. 5. My free item with purchase, for being the above mentioned loyal customer was gone. They said they only had a limited supply. And this was second day after the promotion started. It had been a candle, and they were offering stalks of pampas grass instead. Two very different things. I have no interest in stalks of dust-collecting grass. So, voted with my feet and walked out. Found a much less expensive chair with free delivery on Wayfair. If these retail stores really want to stay in business, they need to provide an actual item of merchandise to the customer with no hassle Simple idea. Apparently not happening. read more

There's a lot to like here. Their sales are prime, plus, whatever the sale price, you can Google and get a 10% off coupon. I have found the quality of their merchandise, and their food, to be excellent. They also have an above-average selection of wine, and there is always some on sale. If you buy a lot of food, you can work it off... L A Fitness is next door! Go to the very back of the store, and you will find the food blow-outs (55% off) at the aisle end-caps. This is a smaller World Market than most of the other locations I have shopped in - well, that is to say the wine section is much smaller than those in the other locations. They have the same deals as the one in the Woodlands, there is just noticeably less of it. The tchotchke section leading toward the register is considerably larger on floor space than in the other stores. I expect this location was targeted more towards people who had read Stephen Fry's The Hippopotamus (or seen the outstanding film adaptation featuring Roger Allam's star turn) and wanted to decorate their apartment like goddaughter Jane's home. Meanwhile the other locations understand they are largely a wine store for how I use them, as an alternative to Spec's when I am hosting dinner parties with the girls, rather than just putting a straw in a 1.5L bottle when my only other plans for the evening are Fortnite battle royale. Also, this was one in a numerous string of consumer experiences where a store only had ONE cashier working. What to heck, capitalists? Either get some robots in the mix or hire some more teenagers, pronto. You cannot run a store with one cashier, especially a slow one that was burning daylight ringing up the tchotchkes of the one guy in front of me while I was standing there with a heavy basket filled with sensibly priced wines I wanted to be elsewhere drinking, not holding in a basket in line in this store. read more

I tend to like things on the expensive side of the spectrum, but on a whim I dropped into Cost Plus World Market during their 30% off sale, and snagged a buffet table for $380. And I actually really like the piece, which was great because I was about to spend $1600 on a piece I wasn't too crazy about elsewhere. If you're making a big furniture piece in-store, be prepared to load the box in your car - so bring a friend. Purchasing online might be a better bet, but then you risk items arriving damaged... At first, I didn't like that I had to assemble the buffet table, but due to the price, it was absolutely worth it. Aside from furniture, they have international snacks, wine, home decor, rugs. I am so happy that I have a World Market near the casa. My wallet gets lighter and lighter each time I stop by haha Each time I've visited, the staff have been friendly and the cashiers always ask if I have any coupons to take advantage of. When visiting just take your time browsing through the neat selection of home decor, kitchen tools, snacks and trinkets for the little ones, I am sure that you will walk away with a bunch of stuff that you JUST HAD TO HAVE. lol Some of my fave finds have been their key holder hooks, kitchen utensils, and their colorful rugs. As bad as my experience was at the Humble location yesterday, is as good as my experience was today at the Yale location. Alaina, the manager was a dream, genuinely cared, and trusted me to come pick up my Chloe table without having paid first. It was all assembled and waiting for me. What a professional store she runs! She, and several of the other members of her team were very nice and helpful too, the total opposite of the service at the Humble location. This was my second visit to the Yale location, and certainly won't be the last. The store is laid out nicely with A "no clutter" feel. I know Pier One had the "clutter" perception, tried to rectify it, and look where they are today. I could have stayed in World Market much longer. As I mentioned earlier, I'll come back when I'm not on a tight schedule, and certainly recommend the store to my friends as well. As an ex-flight attendant, my antenna is up when it comes to customer service. I strived every flight to make the passengers happy, and to want to fly United Airlines again. I expect this same kind of service in a store, and Alaina and her team gave that kind of genuine, caring, top notch service. Alaina has everyone on top of their game. Which by the way they only had one on hold . And then when I told them they only had one the lady said o Okai And came back with just the same rug which at that point am bothered because the cashier that was ringing me out made us feel like we were holding the entire line up . And then when I spoke to manager she said I don't know which rug . Their only one written down so I Accompanied her to go get the one I wanted . I told her about how the nice lady that I reserved it with said their was a rug sale today for 30%off . She looked at me like I was so irrelevant and brushed it off . I ended up getting the rug and when we were leaving nobody even bothered to help us to our truck when their was two people helping one white lady to their car with simple pillows . I ordered something for my home online to be picked up at the Yale store, and it said there was one in stock and it would be ready for pickup the next day. Fast forward one week later. I called three times. Only one of the three people was nice. The first two acted like I was inconveniencing them and complained about their system limitations and how they could not see my order. The second lady made me call the main contact line for all stores. I couldn't reach anyone there so did the virtual chat. I had to ask several times for my order number; she said the same robotic answers despite my persistence and then provided the number and stated it was "waiting to be picked" at the store. I gave it 5 more days, called, and they still hadn't found my item in the warehouse so asked if I wanted to cancel. They clearly had no intent to call me to update either. I would not recommend ordering from here. I cancelled my order. I don't particularly want to go ever shop in store either based on how I was treated over the phone by more than one employee. Save your time and money and consider choosing elsewhere. read more

But, every time I visit I am sorry I did not bring my pajamas so I can spend the night in the store and wrap myself in the beautiful array of bohemian sheets and comforters!!! Seriously, I have it all planned out. I will hide behind the massive selection of rugs right before the store closes so I won't be noticed. When the coast is clear, I will head straight to the candles and light each one for that "extra" effect. I'm surprised by the average reviews for this location. Within the span of one week I visited this Heights location & the location by the Galleria. The customer service here was far superior to the Galleria location. The ladies working the Thursday morning I visited constantly asked if I needed help, smiled & were extremely friendly. The Galleria location had employees who didn't acknowledge you while entering & exiting. When I asked a question they acted like I was bothering them. This store is consistently inconsistent. Today i ordered and paid fir a zen garden for my son. I paid online and wanted to pick up when i arrived . First off i waited over 30 minutes as they serviced everyone in line. The prepaid pick up items were at the end of the register. I was pessimistic as i waited with another customer who paid online to pick up at the store who they wouldn't honor her coupon. Although they sent me an email telling me my item was ready it was nowhere to be found. Their website said they had others in shock also not true. I drive 45 minutes to get there. I'm not really sure what is happening at this World Market and neither do the employees. The past few times I've been in, there is only one register open and a line through the store. When I asked why they don't have other registers open, the lady told me they never have more that one open. I'm not sure the logic behind this but it's inconvenient and super frustrating. It has finally opened! After many months and much anticipation on my part World Market is finally opened in the Yale Shopping Center next to Sprouts. World Market is one of my long time most favorite stores and this one does not disappoint. It is well organized and well staffed. Unfortunately, the chair was discontinued shortly after I purchased it, but she went at great lengths to find a replacement office chair and have it sent to me. I'll just take one of everything. :) This store is GREAT! It has gifts for anyone on your Christmas list, and even all of the things you didn't need you knew you needed in your life...and wine bottles are 20% off when you buy four bottles. Yes, I can hear your car keys rattling now to go scoop up that deal, look for Tiffany, she'll take care of you! But, just in case you have not gotten in your car and left yet, some other notes about the store: - The entertaining section and glassware selection is awesome - the pieces are beautiful, durable, unique - and you name it, they have it. - There are tons of cool cooking devices and gadgets, and row after row of unique food items and interesting cocktail concoctions. Perfect place to find something really unexpected for even the pickiest person on your Christmas, birthday, etc. list. Or maybe yourself... - The wine glasses are some of my favorite things to purchase there (for my house, for gifts), as well as rugs and other home decor items (particularly seasonal items). I have been anxiously awaiting this locations arrival, as I live very close by and have a new home I've been furnishing and decorating. I love World Market! This location, however, needs a lot of improvement. Every time I go here - and I mean every time - someone, or myself, is having a problem with something. If you ask the staff for help they are clueless. I understand that this is a new location, but they should have brought in an experienced manager to train the staff. I have waited numerous times behind someone who's waiting on a price check. They use the intercom for help and we wait.... and wait.... and reluctantly, finally, someone comes to help the cashier. I was checking out once and they asked me if I was a World Market Explorer member, which I am. I typed in my phone number then it asked the cashier for my email. When she tried to go past that she was stuck and had to call a manager. My last visit, I was purchasing a lamp that had no price. I offered to look up the sku on my phone but she said she'd check on the computer. The computer wasn't working, so she called someone in the back to look up the sku. The lamp I was buying had some French words on it, so she's spelling out the French words and spelled them out about 5 times. Finally, I open up my phone and google "french lamp world market" and lo and behold, there is the sku. Get it together people! Also, the middle of the store is empty most of the time. The store is not stocked up with all World Market has to offer. They need to whip it into shape here. I am so disappointed! read more

This store is the worst. We went last week to browse. Among other frustrations, they item we wanted most they at two in stock on. However, they would not sell the only one we could find because it was their "display." My wife and I decide to buy online for in-store pick-up. They said two items unavailable for in-store pick-up splitting our total purchase into small enough amounts that our coupon was no longer applicable AND we had to now pay shipping on the second portion. Finally, to top it all off, when I go in to pick-up the order. The first associate seemed to have now clue what an in-store pick-up was. The second had "to go find it." The whole thing took them 15 minutes to sort out and finish. In a day and age where companies are finally recognizing the importance (and sustainability) of excellent customer service, this store has me thinking that World Market is missing the mark completely. read more

When this place first opened it was amazing. I gave it a 5 star review for service, organization and products but this place has really fallen off over the past few months. Let's just start with service, it's nonexistent! You can make eye contact with each employee there and they will pretend like they don't see you. One employee in particular was awful, his name tag said Kris. I have been here several times, and he appears to be a manager of some kind but instead of checking to see if customer need assistance he is too busy flirting with the employees. A separate time I was there he refused to sell me TWO items because one didn't have a price tag and he "just couldn't sell it to me" and the other he said that "it was the last of the item and other customers needs to be able to see it in store"...what sense does that make Kris? Let's now go to products, almost 3 out of 5 items that I picked up had no price on it. Are we just supposed to guess how much everything is? And it's not like there is someone around that can tell you bc the employees are avoiding you like the plague. I really really regret spending time and money here.
