This happened while Auckland had the typhoons, and roads were flooded - they subcontracted out to Conroy's who are based in Napier - which as you know was a flood zone. even with all those things going on, the global shortage of containers - my household good all arrived in the USA, much faster than I was expecting - Im guessing about 6-7 weeks door to door. The rest of my family will follow later this year and bring the rest of the household goods and I will without a doubt be using the same moving companies.

It was stressful, belongings that have personal and practical usage were in all that stuff and I wanted it to be safe and secure. The staff at Storage King Remuera were very friendly and helpful which made the whole situation a easier. They emphasize that if you want to extend your lease on your storage make sure it is done so in advance, otherwise a hefty fee will be added to your bill. Another handy hint that may save you some dollars before you book with them, if you have your own padlock, a nice big strong one, take it along, otherwise you will have to buy one from them, an additional cost that may make you grit your teeth that little bit harder.

What I liked about this facility was the fact that I could drive right up to my container, and that there was no stairs to deal with - handy when you've got big kauri bookcases. I liked how secure the place felt, there's a automatic gate that's activated with a personal code and the manager lives on site. However upstairs where my storage unit was the lighting is a little dim so it's hard to find things in your unit when you need to grab something. One thing I was quite disappointed with is that the metal handles of my drawers went rusty and the duvet I stored in there grew horrible orange mould. So if you store your stuff in there, make sure it's protected against the dampness.

They have a range of units here, from quite small to big garages for boats and the like. They also offer deals if you sign up for a certain length of time and offer monthly billing if that's easier for you.

The whole phone call must have been less than five minutes, and most of that was me being unprepared with the pick up address. The movers picked up bang on 9:30am, which was exactly what I'd asked for (after changing my mind), and dropped off in the timeframe the quote was for, which was brilliant. I'll definitely use them again.
