I stopped to get some local beers. Big mistake! First when I opened was OK. Second one I opened practically exploded when I opened it. Bottom of can is marked 01-22-24 . Decent selection, but most beers a few dollars more than Total Wine or Beverage King from what I've seen, a few great cheaper finds too though. Staff isn't overly helpful, but is what it is. Lots of wine, a little more diverse beer selection that Beverage King, probably a little better liquor selection as well. I'll be back, but doubt this will end up turning into my go to spot when around. read more

The owner has one of the worst attitudes I've ever seen on a human being. He treats people horribly. I wouldn't dare try his old dusty bottles of liquor that probably have gone bad 5 years ago. They absolutely refuse to greet you. Whether you're searching for the right wine, or at the check out.... they will NOT say "hello" ! I was at check out today, and there were two men. I placed my items on the counter and said "hello". NO RESPONSE! So I said, very loudly "HELLOOOO". Finally, "oh, hi" and they tried to make up for that with a "have a nice day...blah blah". Someone said this to me today about this place "You could land your private jet/plan in here and fill'er up. I agree..... There is endless options and I suggest you try the wine tasting located in the middle of the store. We picked up a bottle from there. A rose bubbly and normally I wouldn't drink that. Score!! Sometimes they are too sweet and give me a headache, but I was fine and it was delicious. the bottle of Moet was in the frnt locked up, if you are wondering where it was (we ended up getting something else that the staff recommended and it was wayyy less $$$ yet delicious). We were going to go after we checked in our hotel, but are you kidding me it was RIGHT there when we got off the exit. My friend grew up in the area and told me he really likes this place before he leaves home and he stocks up. I did believe me. I really love wine and love to support the ma and pa spots. I know this is big, but it's defiantly like a ma and pa, because its in the middle of no where. Idk, that's my personal feeling about it. I gave them a lot of my money. I would highly recommend World Of Beverages to anyone! The prices are very affordable. Customers can return their cans or bottles there for cash or for a discount on their total alcohol purchase (which is a convenience many liquor stores do not offer their customers). The owner is always friendly and will gladly suggest a wine or hard liquor recommendation. I have been going there for many years and am always satisfied. As a bonus, they have a wall of rebates at both the entrance and exit doors so you can take the rebate information that applies to your purchase and save a few more dollars. Parking is easy and spacious. They also offer tastings of everything from wine, beer, tequila, and vodka on select days (usually starting around 5 PM until 7 PM). read more

The owner of this establishment is very rude & has a nasty attitude & lacks customer service skills! My husband & I have been customers at this establishment for years & I've returned my empty bottles, purchased from his establishment no less, with no problem, when the manager (don't know his name) is running the place. Well, I was in the store on Sun., 1/31 to return $3.00 & some change worth of empty ODoul's bottles & I sensed the owners attitude immediately! He started questioning me about whether or not I purchased them from his store. When I told him that my husband had purchased them from the store he had the audacity to want to know who my husband was!!! Well, I was taken aback & told him that it was none of his business who my husband was & shouldn't matter! He actually started arguing with me saying "yes it was his business!" To say I was 'PISSED' off is an understatement! He actually argued with me & me with him, as I walked out the door, after getting my $3.00 & some change from the returned bottles. He actually left a customer in line & followed me out the store arguing with me until he saw my husband leap out the car to find out what was going on! He immediately backed down when he recognized my husband! Prior to me leaving the store, he actually threatened to fire his manager if he took any more returned bottles from me because I told him I've never had a problem returning my bottles when his manager was on duty. To think that this man actually owns this establishment is incredible! He has no people skills & is a total jackass! Of course WOB has the best prices & selection. But very surprised to see the manager walking around with no mask, even though there's a huge sign requiring masks for customers. He came and stood WAY to close to us to discuss wine, and at the register he was eating a meal. We are still in pandemic and considering he's Indian and the seriousness of the pandemic in India, he'd do at least the minimum. I guess WOB just doesn't care about safety protocols and the health of their customers. There are other places to shop. read more

back in the day World of Beverages was THE BEST and biggest liquor store around, now it just looks tiny compared to the mega package stores that are popping up. Sad, but these guys still have a unique selection and a few things I had not seen elsewhere. Worth checking out if you are killing time hunting for new beers. read more

First things first: check bottle dates when you shop here! This store has no compunctions about putting last year's seasonals on the shelf and selling them at this-year's prices. A friend of mine bought 2011 Victory Festbier this year right around the time all the other stores were putting the 2012 out. Not cool. That said, they have a massive selection of craft beer and there's something for everyone. They're very good at getting certain stuff in stock - such as Berkshire Brewing Co's beers - which makes them worth checking out regularly. WOB also seem to get seasonal releases a week or two ahead of other local shops, which is a plus. This place is a little pricey compared to BevMax, but that's what you get for shopping at a non-chain joint. read more

I like their mini spirits selection and variety. but the cashier ringing me up was rude and starring at a clothing website adding things to her basket while mine was still full waiting to be purchased. I used to come here more often, but this place has been sold and these people are not smart, I had a bottle explode in my car, no reason I can think of, but the store manager, maybe owner wouldn't replace it, I know from experience that the suppliers don't have a problem replacing them if the seal is intact. Only visited once. Is not nearly as spacious as Total Wine or Stew's, a bit run down. Kind of like liquor stores from a generation ago. Was not impressed at all. Why anyone would go there over Total or Stew's, I don't know. read more

This place has it all. Wonderful selection of both fine and inexpensive wines, fully stocked on all types of liquor, and a very extensive beer selection from around the world. The staff is knowledgeable and generally helpful. It is a larger store than a typical corner joint, and so it is able to stock an impressive collection. It is my go to place to buy alcohol in Norwalk. Highly recommended. read more
