I have been bringing my children here for 2 years and couldn't be happier. The teachers are incredibly warm, attentive, and treat the children as if they were their own . Every day, my child is greeted with a genuine smile and feels safe and loved. The communication from the staff is excellent, and we always feel informed about their daily activities and milestones . Horrible! My child went there for less than a wk. The first day they were unaware I had made arrangements w/the director my child to start. The teachers were clueless. The second day they called to complain that ny child was in a pull up. He was 2 about to turn 3 at the time and had just learned to potty on his own. Since he was transitioning from head start to this center I thought I'd put the pullup in case he would have an accident given that it was anew environnement and wouldnt know where the restroom was. I got a call from Pam stating "your child was wearing a pull up this is going to be a problem." Gave me no chance to explain anything or my reasoning I didnt know there was a rule against wearing pull ups! 3rd day i get a call that he was agressive and hit a teacher. He had been in head start for months and never had an issue with any teacher which keads me to think that someone did not know how to interact with him. He had a minor speech delay at the time as well so it was bad. Pam eluded to my child being a problem & pretty much forced me to say I wouldn't be bringing him back. The teacher appeared to have some delays herself. She closes her eyes for extended periods of time & take a while to get words out. The whole place was strange and Pam has no manners or tact when addressing behaviors. She seems to think that you talk and care for children like an adult. If you're considering this child care center go somewhere else. read more

I've waited a few years to write a review because I didn't want to review too early and not have a thorough review. The biggest thing I've noticed is there's very little turnover rate. The same teachers have been working here for years. My daughter started here in the toddler room when we first moved to San Pedro in 2019. She moved from toddler to preschool to pre-k. The pre-k program is absolutely perfect. Your child will probably be reading before Kindergarten if you send them consistently. My daughter just started Kindergarten this year and she's one of the top students in her class and consistently gets complimented by her teacher on how bright she is. I had twin babies in 2021 and they started going to the infant room. I can't say enough great things about the infant room. The teachers and director truly care about my babies and I have zero mom guilt about bringing them. read more

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review. I wanted so much to love this place. But after just shy of eight months there, I can definitely say I don't recommend it. Aside from the first couple of weeks there, I never felt welcome as a parent at World Tots LA. I always felt rushed out when I dropped my son off, who started there at 12 months old. I would be reprimanded for dropping my son off past 9:30am. My husband works in the port and has odd hours and sometimes would only get to spend extra time with our son in the mornings when he got home. They didn't care. Despite our paying for the care, I was constantly reprimanded and given snide comments for dropping him off after 9:30. We asked the director if this was required and she said it was recommended, but apparently this wasn't relayed to the staff, who told me constantly it was a requirement. A teacher even yelled at us a few times, or raised her voice, saying that if we brought him after 9:30, we shouldn't bring him at all. My son would often come home dirty. Dried food or snot on his face. When voicing concerns, we were often met with a condescending tone from the teachers or the director. Not all of the teachers. But unfortunately, the ones who would listen and seemed to truly care were few and far between. I felt snubbed. I read the good reviews about this place. I hoped for the best. I eventually felt like I would walk on eggshells and try to be as nice as possible because I didn't want to risk anyone being unkind to my son. But we left. It wasn't worth it. Especially when there are other daycare centers in the area that are competitively priced with good programs and kind staff. I only regret not leaving sooner and hoping things would improve. The week before we left, my husband picked up my son from school with a bloodied face. He had gotten hurt on the playground, and we should have been called, but weren't. I don't know who has left these others reviews. I notice most of them are from 2,3 and 4 years ago or more. I am truly glad these families were happy with their care. I do wish I could say the same. As a fellow parent, I beg you to please look at all your options and do your research. This place has a good location, but there are also other good options in Pedro. I hesitated to write this review, but I feel like if I was being treated rudely, other parents were too, and that breaks my heart. It is so hard to leave your child in daycare as it is, and to deal with these additional stresses, it's just more than a parent should have to take. All the inspections done and what not don't take into account how the parents, the customers, are treated. And I just worry that if I'm not treated with respect and courtesy, my kid won't be either. Well since there has been a new director it's been hard to get a hold of anyone. I did have my daughter there she liked it but there are other programs much better then this one. I would not recommend this facility. read more

This is not a safe childcare facility, and when I make this statement it is for the teachers. It took me 4 months to heal from the trauma this facility caused my child and I, she is still traumatized . My child was injured here and I was not notified immediately. I was notified 3 hours after the incident when it was time for me to pick my child up. The teacher that was supposedly watching my child went home. She did not feel the need to inform her director or myself the parent. That my child was injured nor did she write an incident report. I was told several different stories on how my child was hurt but at the end of the day they do not know how my child was hurt because they were not watching her. To add they took my child along with two other children on a wet playground, because it was raining the day my child's braids was ripped from her scalp one day after her second birthday. I do not understand how someone cannot have urgent concern to inform a parent when there childs hair has been riped from there scalp. Last but not least when I obtain the police report the initial teacher whom had no concern for my child injury. Her statement was different from the statement that she wrote for her facility. I can't end this review without stating that I also had another child that attended there same timing. I was told she killed a fish when I picked her up one day. They cannot explain where they were when she was able to get to this fish, and they never wrote an incident report about it. When I asked why there was never an incident report wrote. They finally wrote one which was an apology for telling me that she killed the fish, that it was now a mistake and my child did not kill the fish. Which was completely different from what the teacher had told me happened. I really hope they take the necessary precaution they need to keep people children safe but for my experience that was not the case. read more

No wonder there's not many recent good reviews but if I could choose from - stars I would choose the -5 so I took my 2 1/2 month old baby girl for the first day as I was happy and excited for her to start since I had to start work my fear at a daycare was that she was not going to get the attention as how I do with her but I knew since theres more kids and not just mine . but for it to be the first day of course I was just checking everything hoping it went good for her but with just one day in there I seen she was not in good hands special at a 2 1/2 month old baby. when I drop her off she stared to cry I kinda of figure it was because she don't know this people and she will be ok. so I left I called 2 time during the day and Christie said she was doing fine so that made me more comfortable so it was 3pm and I decided to pick her up when I get there I heard my baby crying as soon as I open the door I seen they my 2 1/2 month old baby on the floor just crying and crying that even her throat sounded different from crying a lot as the day care staff was just there sitting talking to each other as soon as my mom grabbed her I noticed she had scratches on her face they said she could of scratched her self so for it to be the first day was expecting to find my baby happy so I could've feel comfortable with the daycare and take her back.i felt so Bad for my baby that I was blaming my self for taking her there so I called Christie and I told her what I didn't like and she said the couple of times she went in there she seen the were calming her down from crying so basically my baby was crying ALL day like literally all day I dropp her off crying and then when I called basically she was crying and when I picked her up she was crying I wouldn't recommend this place for infants ! read more

Wonderful staff, not just a daycare with "baby sitters" here. Here you will find professionals with child development focus at the forefront of their curriculum and structure. Emotional, behavioral, and educational standards make this a SCHOOL, with well-rounded academics for a wider range of pre-K ages. We have a 5 yr old who graduated from World Tots LA last year. And a 2 yr old who is continuing a second year this Fall. I feel both our kids are benefiting from the instruction and nurturing here. We are happy to say we are able to continue our youngest for a second year without hesitations. It is rare to find a preschool that satisfies all those critical parent-worries, where children literally fall in love with their teachers! Our only regret is not finding/researching this place sooner, because we were unable to take advantage of the toddler class with our oldest child. However, he still learned so much academically, and socially, that his introduction to Kindergarten couldn't have been smoother. read more

My daughter went here from 2017-2020 in the infant and toddler rooms and again from 2021-2022 for Pre-K. All of the teachers are absolutely wonderful and take excellent care of the kids. My daughter was always happy and excited to go to school and I felt at ease knowing that she was safe and happy. She always came home with different crafts/activities. Once she was in Pre-K, the teachers even started teaching phonics and reading. She graduated in June and is so ready for Kindergarten! read more

I'm so lucky and relieved to have found a wonderful place for my son to learn and have fun! He started here in February when he was 15 months old. He initally started off in the toddler room but we quickly found that other 15 month olds there were more advanced than he was. Seriously, these kids started here in the infant program and they can drink out of a regular cup, can run, and eat with a spoon! My son was placed in infant care for a few weeks to catch up and he transitioned from infant care to toddler care over the course of a month. Three months later my son has caught up and has developed so fast. I love seeing him play and interact with the other kids and teachers. Knowing he's drinking from a cup, using a fork, running like crazy, learning new words daily.... really.... new words everyday has been a wonderful experience! The teachers and Director are doing an amazing job with him and who knew that my kid who never really had any interaction with other kids until here could have so much fun while learning new things every day! Tuition rates are very reasonable. About 1/2 of what you pay for LaPetite or Kindercare. They serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks. (Healthy of course) The daycare facilities is safe! Secured entry not to mention the Port of LA Police station is 1 block away and the Fire Department is across the street. The Director and teachers care about the kids! Truly the best place you can take your child! They have a loving staff, organized and structed learning activities an amazing child to provider ratio. The incorporate and instill discipline and learning into daily acitivities. It is not a "drop your kid off to be watched" daycare. This place will actually grow and develop your child. Well, I have had the GREAT pleasure of having my two girls attend this school, and I have got to say that we LOVE it!! I have gotten to know the teachers very well over the years and I feel that they have taken a personal interest in my children and their learning. This is an amazing place for your child. Get on the wait list when you find out you are pregnant. The staff is great! They really care about the children. The staff all have children of their own and understand child development first hand. There is a very low staff turn over because they are treated well and are happy at their jobs. The facility is clean and well maintained. The building is very secure, located next to the police station and across the street from a fire station. Children there are happy. Being an educator myself I can highly recommend this place for children. My child was reading at early first grade level when transitioning to kindergarten from World Tots LA. read more

World tots of LA is one of the best school in town... my 3 boys have gone to this school from infant room -Pre K.... the teachers are all warm and caring its a great and safe environment.. Ms Susie and Ms Rosina were my kids favorite teachers they still ask about them and they are 6,11,14 years old... I recommend this school...
