We went last year and this year 2024 and oh man they doubled the size of the haunted house and added the awesome skating rink. My girlfriends and I were extremely scared. This is supposed to be the worlds largest haunted house. Ha I really doubt that, worlds largest is pretty far fetched . I love the customer service at front and all the characters in the haunt tho. THe scares were great . There was no line and the parking lot was the best ever. What I like about this haunt is that they bring out all my favorites like freddy, jason, michael Meyers, it was great. I was like wow I remember that guy. I liked the huge breaking bad trailer home horror area. The gore factor was pretty nice. I think I've been spoiled because I've been to a lot of haunted houses, so my expectations are set high. I was hovering between 2-3 stars, but finally decided on 2 stars, because it really does say "Meh. I've experienced better." It's not hard to scare me. But I do love Halloween. I'll walk into a Spirit Halloween store, and the stuffed spiders will freak me out. Putting them in a dark room with eerie noises will make me scared. But The "World's Largest Haunted House" leaves something to be desired. First of all, it's $5 for parking. Being in an area where there is no other place to park without getting towed, they have a monopoly over the parking situation and they know it too! Kinda annoyed, but I was determined to have fun and it it's as scary as everyone else says it is, then the parking is just a small nuisance. The next bad thing, I went through the website and found a $2 off coupon. Their website is old, outdated, and not very clear. Their "coupon" is a small image in the middle of a long webpage. I usually print coupons off at home (something many people don't do anymore), but printing this one wasn't working for me. I couldn't copy the image, it wasn't clickable, and unable to open the image in another window. I made the safe assumption that I could open it up on my smartphone and show it to them. (Something many businesses allow, plus their website made no disclaimer that I had to have a physical copy of the coupon. I went up to the ticket window and the woman asked for $44. I showed her the coupon and said, "Here is your coupon I have for $2 off!" Without hesitation, she starts YELLING at me! "WE DON'T ACCEPT THAT. YOU HAVE TO PRINT IT OUT." "I'm sorry, but I tried to print it out, but was having a hard time. Believe me, I would've if I could!" "IT DOESN'T MATTER, YOU SHOULD HAVE PRINTED IT OUT." *super angry and rolling her eyes* "It does not say anywhere on your website that I had to print it out m'aam. And no other indication that it cannot be accepted via smart phone" "FINE. I'LL ALLOW IT THIS TIME" sheeeese! Talk about grump eh? Not like I'll be back anyway. So onto the actual haunted house. The wait is a bit long, so that there is ample room between groups. They give you a "sneak preview" before they tear your ticket to get your adrenaline going and to make sure younger kids can handle the scares. I was actually impressed and excited. However, the actual haunted house was boring, predictable, and hardly scare worthy. It is "large" because it is repetitive, not because there is actually anything unique aside from change of theme. Other haunted houses have actors interact WITH you, you walk THROUGH scenes. You become ONE with the haunted house and that's what makes it scary. This one lacks that personal vibe that makes you feel exposed and vulnerable. The worse part? They had an employee follow every group. No, not an actor with a costume on to "stalk" you and scare you. A regular dressed employee with a flashlight and cellphone. Our guy followed us so closely and was texting on his cellphone, shining his flashlight to "guide" us through the maze, that it took ALL the scare factor away! It's not scary anymore when his flashlight shows us what's coming up next. Plus, he would knock on the wall right before we rounded a corner to 'alert' the actors to get into position and prepare to scare us. Every time we heard him knock on the wall, we knew someone was going to jump out, and we were right. To give them benefit, the couple we were paired with enjoyed it, and said they were scared a couple times. Younger kids also seemed scared. Seasoned haunted house guests might want to look elsewhere for a good scare. The scenes were well put together, a nice variety, and some actors were very impressive. In the end, $22+$5 parking is way too much to pay for this haunted house IMO. I had a better scare for cheaper plus free parking at Dead Times Dream. Or pay a few more bucks and go to the Winchester or Great America's Haunt. The staff could use more training, patience, and the haunted house could overall use more diversity in their scare tactics and incorporating the attendee into feeling like they are walking THROUGH a haunted house, rather than simply 'viewing' it. read more

Full Disclosure: I DIDN'T GO THROUGH THE HAUNTED HOUSE Yeah, that's right. I paid the $20 and promptly exited at the very first opportunity. What? You calling me a chicken-shit? Ahem. NO. My 9 year-old freaked out after the first scene and pulled my arm and, despite all the bravado going into his first haunted house, he could not find the "fun" in being scared. :) We got lost trying to get out and the Freddy Kruger guy was super sweet when i explained what was going on and he escorted us out and was very gentle and supportive to my little guy. Awwwww. Freddy also promised my son to give his older brother an extra dose of fright. Now the two 14-year olds looooved it. They loved it so much they couldn't stop talking about if for hours and hours afterwards. Ha ha ha. So, I guess that qualifies as a 5-star right? Probably, but I'm going to ding them a star because it sucks that I ended up paying about $40 for me and my youngest to basically just turn right around from the get-go. I appreciate their strict no refund policy but I think when a child is that afraid right up front, the rule is too harsh. Plus, given how scary it's set up, they should have set an age limit like the other haunted houses do to avoid this situation. read more

Seriously had the best time ever here. To begin with, I'm the faint at heart so I already knew it was going to be an eventful night to begin with. I'm so proud to have made it out without exiting early hahah! They definitely target the ones who get scared the most so I got a lot of action; my boyfriend had to help push me through the hallways. DEFINITELY WORTH THE WAIT AND MONEY! He also said this is tons better than the Great America attraction because it's bigger (the Great America attraction lasts 3-5minutes, this took me a good 10minutes but that's me being a biggest chicken hahah), darker (seriously, we would be lost in the pitch black hallways), and the actors really get into it. We had planned on going to two haunted houses that night but after this one being the first, we ended the night. I am not a wuss, but this haunted house was impressive. The constant shock and scares were intense and made me want to take some of the emergency exits. Well done. Worth the money. This house is aimed at a lot of shock rather than horror. Though the horror is there, I would say that if you are at a risk of heart attack or other serious conditions that would be effected by high blood pressure, I would not recommend this. read more

Great scares! I really like being surprise scared and this did just that. Went with a big group but they let in only 6 at a time and probably 5 min apart which is awesome because it gives the actors time to set up their scares. You don't see the group ahead of you being scared and ruining the effect. I would give 4 stars overall until guy at the end taking our opinion told us all the actors were volunteers. Doing it for the love of scaring people. Just awesome, cuz I love Halloween myself. 5 stars and will return next year read more

Not the worlds largest ... Just the largest haunted house, long and dark hallways, a maze inside the building, is like a 10 minute walk inside the haunted house, every hallways is empty, nothing to be scare, but you pass many little sets where they get you right there,then is more dark empty hallways :(.. For our first time experience this place it was great, we got scare several time, but at the end we notice the this place can be reduce it size by half if they only get rid of the empty hallways, or at least decorated them more, and have some of the monsters walking around this hallways, like the lady that was following us behind the whole time, to check on us. Many exit route, very dark, very little to see, very small sets, not so many monster, one monster for each set, maximum 2, for a $22 per adult a think is a expensive, just because I walk a lot of empty dark hallways. Kids just $20, still too expensive. This will be our one an only last experience to this place, not the "worlds" or the "largest" its just another haunted house that I know it could do better if they put more effort to it. read more

Tried to go here tonight. It took forever to even find the place because there were hard to find and nowhere to park.

I would not call this the "largest" haunted house. Most of your time is spent walking through made-up hallways which take you to a small "scary" set. The sets were very small, which was disappointing. Also, after walking through the graveyard, we looked behind us and two of the employees were making-out!! We had barely gotten two feet away from them and they started sucking each other's face. Unprofessional! Definitely not worth the $20, I wouldn't go back. read more

Overhyped but still a lot of fun! I went to haunted house last year and I was more scared reading the warning labels than I was actually going through the haunted house itself. It was pretty inventive and they had a lot of different scary elements, from people that would follow you around to things that look inanimate that move at the last second. Ughh? This is still around? Okay, for $22 plus $5 for parking, you'd expect a lot, right? Nope - not this thing. It's essentially this: Walk through a pitch black corridor, enter a staging room where a monster is dress up and yells at you. Rinse, repeat. First few times, it kind of works. But that's all the "World's Largest Haunted House" is. The same thing over and over again. There's really nothing else. Nothing pops-out, no complex, eerie atmosphere. No originality or surprises. In other words, it's a boring haunted house. The good news was, well, there was no wait. We went last year, I think on the Saturday before Halloween, and there was only one family ahead of us - that's it. They were nice, and they monsters genuinely tried to scare you, but overall, it's a dinky little maze with really no atmosphere, frights, or originality. For $27, you can get this 10 minute long borefest, or you can go to Great America's Halloween Haunt. The Winchester Mystery House had an excellent maze that was around the same price which was, well, amazing, but unfortunately, it is discontinued for 2013. read more

By far the worst haunted house in San Jose. I live really close to where this event is so my friend and I decided to check it out from the outside and see how long the line is. We got there and were asked to pay $8 for parking when it was supposed to be free. But we just wanted to see it from the outside and come back later so we left. Then we came back around 11pm and there was no parking fee. The line wasn't that long but was moving very slowly. After going through the entire thing (probably in less than 10 minutes) we were disappointed. The actors were not that scary and it was the same thing over and over just different theme. I wouldn't waste money here. Just go to Dead Time Dream because it is much better than this one with 3 short haunted houses which are actually scary. read more

The best thing about this place is that you go with just your group and not with a huge group of random strangers, which makes it even more scary. The actors are pretty awesome and the hallways are super dark. My boyfriend happens to fear clowns and the clowns got him so good, and plus they started calling him by his name and came out to scare him at the very end. Plus the Freddy Krueger was super scary! This review does not reflect the contents inside this haunted attraction. I had every intent and desire to go, as someone who loves to be scared. However I am glad I went to the website first. I wear braces on my knees and ankles to walk, and have no problems whatsoever doing so, they simply prevent me from hyper extending, since my ligaments suck. The web site states that no one is permitted to enter with "any form of temporary cast, medical brace or crutches." Ive been through most haunts in the bay area, and this has never been an issue. Only one has ever even asked about the walking stick I use, and only because they thought it was decorative, and understandably that would not be permitted. When told it was needed, POE was happy to let me in with it. I am not only dissapointed, I am offended. read more

Entertaining. But with two kids, that's $64 for 15 minutes worth of spooks, plus the drive. That they can get away with claiming it to be the 'world's largest' is the scariest part of this moderately sized showroom. Good job to all of the actors and designers that put their time and effort into good performances, but it's just not worth the money. I go to this event every year...This haunted house is outstanding in my book . verry scary from the moment you walk in its scary . The actors are very inergetic and in your face . I almost wet my self and it took me 18 minn to get thru the maze ..... It felt like a eternity....... The clown had me crying for help . ( I dont like clowns ) 22 $ to get in but i printed a 2$ cupon off of there web site so 20$ to get in was great and FREE PARKING .....
