This is a cool fall festival and event to visit during halloween season. A beautiful laid-back and spacious atmosphere, and country music played through the speakers near the big barn, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available, and a few merchandise vendors on site, as well as beer and wine for sale. However a big negative here are the LONG LINES. Not only were lines slow, but there were extra unnecessary lines. Two lines for entry, one for wristbands, then the other for security. Two lines for food, one to place orders and pay, the other to pick up orders from the appropriate truck/tent (the steak quesadilla and tri-tip sandwich weren't even worth the wait... though the former was bigger and better). Also, there was one SUPER MEGA LINE (worse than Disneyland) for the Trail of Lights and Frights due to lack of instructions from staff and no signs to indicate that there were actually two separate entries: one trail is for kids, bright and safe (with LIGHTS), the other trail is for the haunted attraction (with FRIGHTS) where the sounds of chainsaws and screaming could be heard coming from behind the corn field (this is not the same as the regular corn maze on the farm by the way). It was definitely fun and creepy! The corn maze was cool and not too challenging, lit even after dark as they have a giant flood light high above. There was also a good amount of entertaining activities for both kids and adults, including a pumpkin patch, mechanical bull, and giant jump pillows. But again, a lack of instruction and signage, especially for the biggest attractions on site. I even saw people sliding down a hill in potato sacks on the far end of the farm, but there was no clear sign about "slide mountain", so you would not know about it unless you happened to go in that direction or had a map of the farm. As a reminder there is uneven terrain everywhere and lots of walking necessary, (especially in the trails of lights and frights, and corn maze), so wear comfortable walking shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. Despite the issues I mentioned, we still enjoyed our time here. And the cost of tickets is worth it if doing the Trail of Frights (since it's comparable with other haunted houses, but you also get other farm activities on top of that). If I could give negative stars I would . We had our wedding there 9/5/26 let me start by saying the venue is gorgeous I give it that but the staff and management need to be better . The only good part about the staff was the bartender we had with purple hair I didn't get her name . We get the venue at 8am I was told there'd be an "operations manager " she didn't answer her phone any of the times that I called we get into the venue and there's not even the right amount of tables we asked for my husband had to go back home for a leaf blower to clear out all the trash from the previous nights party that was outside . The so called manager didn't get there until almost 12 and then tried dictating where to put the dj and dessert bar . The bar wasn't ready by 3:15 like we wanted and I being charged an arm and a leg for two bartenders when only one person is making drinks ! The other is just taking tally of the drinks , we paid $1500 for a par tab bar but they were still asking my guests to pay for their drinks!! I ask for Paloma's as one of our cocktails and they tasted like straight grapefruit juice not to mention they ran out of grapefruit juice by 5:30 . I paid for two bussers to be there at 4pm they sent one home and the other girl was just at the bar chit chatting meanwhile my guests were clearing off tables and instead of the so called operations manager doing her job and helping clear tables since she sent someone home she handed my guests bags to clear off the tables the other busser didn't get there till almost 530 or after and then him and the other girl busser were upstairs hanging out in the bridal suite taking selfies where all of our personal items and purses are and my maid of honor had to tell them to go downstairs and do their job . Not to mention there's two cameras in the bridal suite where we're supposed to feel comfortable getting undressed ?? And then they tried telling us if weren't out by 11 we were going to get charged $1200 . Which by the way their website lies it says you get the venue until 12pm , the contract says 11:30 but they'll tell you strictly at 11:15 and then hound you any minute after that about charging extra . Also my husband ended up putting his card on file which they closed out for no reason , told him he was being charged $120 but yet he was charged $240 so I don't know if the so called manager left herself a tip or what because they don't give receipts for anything . You're better off going somewhere else and saving yourself the headache yes the venue is beautiful but the inconsistency and clueless staff isn't worth it . read more

This was back in October 2025, it's a beautiful place, good staff, however the issue is their security. I think they hire random ppl or security companies because i saw another review on google reviews on how her daughters wedding, Swank farms "randomly hired" a guy off the street, sounds similar to what happened to my family while we waiting in the line to the maze. My father in law kept asking security about letting people cut lines, security doesn't care and quote "I am not their employee I just stand here to look nice for the company" so i believed it. I'm not surprised if they'll hire more inexperienced security. read more

I held my daughter's Quinciañera at Swank Farms Venue! July 2025. Here are the pros & cons of this venue: Pros: - Beautiful Indoor/Outdoor Venue with plenty of parking - I was able to bring my own caterer - I had access to space from 8am to 11:30pm Cons: - Venue Manager/Owner was looking over mine & my guests shoulder all the time (this was stressful) - I paid for 2 bartenders (neither of which appeared to have bartending experience - I selected only beer for my guests (made 4 different beer selections one month in advance). The beers I selected were not provided to my guests. No one ever mentioned my guests would be offered a full bar. I had drink tickets for my guests; when they went to the bar they were under the impression the tickets were good for any drink, bartenders had to tell my guests they were only good for beer, the lines backed up, there was confusion. Did I mention guests were charged $15 for margaritas that were made with the cheapest tequila (Jose Cuervo.) - Two weeks before event my music sound tech wanted to confirm the venue had sufficient electricity/power capacity. I asked the manager/owner & she was unable to confirm for me. I had my sound tech call her directly since I'm not a sound engineer & I wanted to make sure they had the electrical power needed for the day of the event. The venue manager/owner was rude to him & hung up on him. The day of the event sure enough; we are about to dance the most important song (mother/daughter dance) and power goes out! Frustrating! - The venue has security cameras in every single angle of the barn, except the bathrooms & upstairs middle dressing room. Oh but the manager/owner made sure to personally do a check-in of yes the women's bathroom & the upstairs areas. So unnecessary & intruding on privacy. - I paid one security guard which venue hired. Guy appeared to have been picked up off the street (no uniform or badge) - Once event was over at 11:30pm, I had to make sure venue was clean, owner/manager kept on calling me because I was going over the 30 minutes allotted otherwise she would have to pay her staff over time. - I found dead mice inside the venue a few days before our event. If I'm following my obligations contractually why are you micromanaging the event. This was so stressful & dont think I would ever use this venue again. read more

We recently attended a wedding at Swank Farms. While the site is lovely, the staff was unorganized and not helpful. Appetizers/charcutier boards were being assembled as the guests waited. The guests were told the bar was not open and when it did open, there were no mixers for drinks and for $ 14.00, I received barely an inch of wine in my glass. We went here last year for the pumpkin patch and my kids had an amazing time! It's the most reasonably priced pumpkin patch in the area, with plenty of fun booths and vendors for adults to enjoy. This is our go-to place for a Fall Maze. We've been going here for years and have never been disappointed. Last year we enjoyed the Sunflower picking and the Night Lights. This year we only participated in the Maze, which was a lot of fun. If you have children, there are so many additional things to do. Huge slides, Jumping Pillow, Hamster Wheel (Large Tires on a Track), Goat Feeding and Cow Train plus a few other activities. Here's What I Think... This place S U C K E D. There was trash on the ground everywhere. Empty beer cans and bottles every two steps kind of litter. In the corn maze I saw not one, not two, but THREE(3!!) grown men walk just steps into the corn and urinate. There were kids everywhere and these adults thought this was appropriate and no one was around to stop them. Kids were ripping up full corn stalks and throwing corn around the maze. It was $64 for two people, and they do a really great job advertising and making it look like there's a lot to do here. But... there's not. It's crowed, even on a Sunday night, with overtired children and drunk adults. They have MULTIPLE signs saying "NO REFUNDS" and "ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK" and now I know why. WOW!!! This place is definitely losing business. My family and I decided to go on a Sunday around 5:30pm. We are getting into the second week of October and this place was EMPTY. People were leaving left and right. Large families were getting back into their cars. We wondered why and when we got to the ticket counter it made total sense. $30 dollars cash to enter or $38 with card!!!!! Per person For everyone!!!!! Even the adults. Which by the way what the hell are adults paying for? The jumper? There's nothing included like food or drink. The slide? We just wanted to take our 2 boys so they could play around and we were willing to pay for our boys. No problem. We came last year and my boys had a blast. If you paid for the maze you had a nighttime wristband which allowed you into the maze. We didn't pay for the maze with our little ones so we didn't do it. Simple as that. We got a barrel of pumpkins before we left too. Unbelievable that they are charging this way. I took a look around while trying to see if there was anything new to account for the crazy entry and NO!! In fact there was less than last year. The pumpkins were disappointing. Went Saturday 10/4/25- it was opening day of the season; they opened at 10 and they had the Hoptoberfest event 1-4. I feel like they should've just opened at 1, because nothing before that was ready. No one was doing the cow train, garbage cans weren't out, there was no food, things were still being set up all over. I kept having to tell my kids we'd come back later. Half of the food options weren't available, and what was available wasn't very good. (The worst cheeseburger of my life, no joke. Half the size of the bun, a thin hard crunchy cold disc, cold cheese, and we were one of the first few orders of the day.) Even most of the pumpkins were half green and so many parts of the corn maze needed to be cleared of plants and random fully grown corn stalks. I'm totally sympathetic to learning curves and training when there are a bunch of young kids running things but while everyone was super nice they just didn't seem to know what they needed to do or what was going on. I adamantly urge families not to go to the "Trails of Lights and Frights". We went last year with our 1.5 year old in a stroller looking just to walk this trail and see a bunch of pretty lights, that was the low expectation we had and wanted to see. Unfortunately, it does not meet that, like, at all. First, it is not clear where the line or entry for this area it is nor was it clearly marked where to go. We found ourselves waiting in a line we were not aware was for the corn maze, which is a LONG line. When we finally got to the front to check out the "trail", wow. The line for the corn maze IS IT. Like that whole space, IS THE TRAIL. So you will just see a long line of people in between some trees with rope lights around them. THAT IS IT. Also, enjoy some of the actors from the corn maze with their chainsaw and mask to come running out to scare ya. Fun. We tried to plead our case to the front desk space for a refund because this was certainly not the experience that is advertised on their website. No luck. They will not give a rodent backend. We did get our money back through our credit card company thankfully. Now, maybe you want to go here for the corn maze or other spooky experiences, enjoy. I just would strongly urge families interested in this "Trails of Lights and Frights" experience to not go unless you had other interests there. read more

My husband and I have visited Swank Farms before Halloween for the past two years. Although Swank Farms is a bit of a trek, we're happy to make the journey. We love picking out pumpkins from the pumpkin patch, wandering through the corn maze, strolling through the garden, and taking photos throughout the property. They even have an adorable red barn that is great for taking pictures and serves as a small store and dining hall. We never leave Swank Farms without picking up delicious homemade pumpkin fudge and caramel sea-salt popcorn. This is such a god size pumpkin patch with so many things to do for all ages! We bought our tickets in advance online and they were slightly cheaper than at the door. There's animals to feed, sunflowers to pick, the trail of lights, the haunted maze, tractors and jumpers for kids. They also have food trucks with a variety of cuisines. read more

3.5/5 My family and I made the trip out here to check out the Swank Farms Fall Experience. We arrived and parked in the gravel unmarked parking lot. The ladies at the front checked us in gave us our wrist brands and a word search puzzle for the maze sharing the history of Swank Farms. We walked in and the space was huge. It didn't really have the pumpkin patch vibe as everything was spaced far away from each other. It felt more like outdoor activities that you do when you visit a barn. There was 1 jumper, a slide (you get into a potato bag and slide down a hill of sand), and an area to slingshot tennis balls and blast targets. Also a LARGE jumping pillow which looked really cool. They had a bus that kids could explore. There is also an area where they have pigs, goats, and chickens (in separate enclosures). Adults can feed 2 stalks of corn per adult to the goats which was neat. They have 2 areas to pick out pumpkins ($.60 cents a pound). There was a large corn maze. In the middle of all this was a barn that was selling fudge and other Swank Farms merchandise. Off to the side there was an area to buy snacks and drinks. We ordered a lemonade and grilled cheese, and both were good. The lemonade was fresh and not too tart or too sweet. The grilled cheese was made on delicious sourdough bread. The guy making our food was not wearing a mask but was wearing gloves. They also had two oversized wooden chairs to take pictures in. I looked around for a hayride or a ride for the kids and found one by the maze area, but it looks like it was only for kids. I was disappointed there were no rides for adults to go with their kids. The pumpkin selection had a small variety of different pumpkins. No one was wearing a mask since the activities are outdoors. It was 74 degrees, but it felt like 85 on the day we visited. There's very few shady areas so make sure to bring sunscreen, water, and a hat. Many of the walk areas are just dirt so I ended up walking out with a glob of mud on my shoes. The staff at the front were efficient but I didn't see any other staff inside the patch other than one other lady. It wasn't very busy because we went on a weekday in the morning. Plenty of portable restrooms that are well maintained. There's areas to wash your hands with soap and water. This pumpkin patch is better suited for older kids. The overall space can benefit from a more festive fall appeal and activities parents can do with their younger kids. read more

I really like how big the farm is. With so many people and how spacious it is, it doesn't feel that crowded. The farm is very kid friendly, and everything was placed pretty far apart. Do want to note, barely anyone was wearing their masks. I get that it's outdoors, but with how crowded it is, you would want to stay safe. I don't think the employees were wearing their masks either ‍ Let's start with the good. My son thoroughly enjoyed jumping on the giant "pillow", going down the dirt and inflatable slide, feeding the goats and pigs. The rest was mehh. The corn maze was okay, you can see through and they numbered it so you didn't really get lost in it or tried to find your way out. I imagine the sunflower field must have been beautiful when it was in season and bloomed. But when I went, the sunflower field was dead and barely any flowers left. The pumpkin patch was all the way at end so it's easy to miss and pick out a pumpkin. I paid extra for the field of lights. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but it definitely wasn't that. The field of fright was not scary at all, they let a bunch people in all at once for the line to go through quickly and wouldn't be so long. The kid friendly field of fright was literally all the way at the end on an unmarked field. To be honest, the kid friendly one was a bit more creepy with how dark it is, how far away it is from everything, and how much dolls they used. My family comes every year, but this year was crazy. My family went last night and it all started in the parking lot. We had to park in the back overflow dirt lot and the security guard directing traffic was ridiculous. We pulled into the spot he told us to and was angry that we didn't get close enough to the car we parked next to. He was throwing his hands in the air and shaking his head maniacally. We did adjust ourselves like he wanted. Then we parked the car and he hit the hood of our car hard. Why did he hit our car? I don't know, but it was highly inappropriate and their staff needs more training. Next, all I have to say is be careful of what line you stand in. There is not one staff member going around telling people which line they are in. There are no signs, nothing. They only need one person to help out in that area. Besides all that we are 10 days away from Halloween and the lines were long, but that is to be expected. So if you go expect to be waiting in long lines for everything. Also, either eat beforehand or plan to drop some serious money to eat on the farm. read more

This review is for the Halloween pumpkin patch: I bought tickets online for the Halloween pumpkin event and lights at night and took my son on a Sunday afternoon (it was pretty crowded.) I saw some sheriffs there so I thought mask use would be pretty regulated, but it wasn't. There were a good amount of families without masks and I even saw some workers without masks. There were 2 lines to get in when we first got to the entrance: 1 for pre-paid online sales and 1 for purchasing tickets on site. It was easy to get in and no one checked bags. I didn't see any signs that masks were required and I didn't see any limit on the number of people they were allowing inside. Shortly after getting in I saw one of the workers complaining to another worker without a mask on (every other word was a swear word). There were a lot of kid activities here like a slide, corn maze, trampoline type area, and more, but none of the kids were wearing masks and they were definitely older than 3, so I didn't let my son go on them except the corn maze. I was pretty disappointed with the pumpkin selection since some of the pumpkins were smashed and moldy. Overall I didn't feel safe here and didn't stay for the lights since it got more crowded as it cooled off towards the evening. I wouldn't recommend it here and wouldn't go back. read more

I am severely disappointed in our Swank farms experience on 10/5/24. We paid for day passes, arrived at 10:40am and 75% of the attractions/booths were either unmanned or closed. First we were told we could pick from the pumpkins on the left with our wristbands on the way out. As we were leaving, we made sure we could go in, but also asked about purchasing additional pumpkins - we were told no, the pumpkins available for the wristbands we're in the back of the farm, the "u-pick" pumpkin patch. We walked to the back where we were directed and decided NOT to pick, our 2.5 year old would not be tripping over vines, weeds, and possible critters just for a pumpkin, so we left. Secondly, the attractions not being open was just a shame. My daughter wanted to jump on the uninflated bounce houses, ride the unmanned cow train, and slide. No one was at the slingshot or mechanical bull - it was almost noon, why was nothing open? Third, the vendors. The website said there were going to be 40+ vendors. We saw 8, plus the cooks and a small bar. My daughter wanted a cupcake - not open. She settled for a chicken tender and a bag of chips. Thankfully, she was able to get her face painted. Otherwise, a very underwhelming experience for both parents and our daughter who waited all week to pick out her pumpkin and "ride a cow." We sent an email to Swank with no response. Not cool. We will not be returning or supporting Swank in the future. read more

Dirty, uncared for, half the attractions are broken, 25$ per person to essentially walk around a dirt parking lot full of junk. Animals and animals pens all look very poorly cared for. Paid money to watch school field trips play with the things that weren't broken because we were told we aren't allowed to use anything if another group is there. Under staffed, unprofessional. Just all around let down. When we complained that our kids weren't able to play on anything the response was "we can keep our children here all day because our passes are good till 6pm" (good plan with a 3 year old and a 14 month old) and "this is just how we run our farm". Coming from a farming family I'd be nothing less than embarrassed of this place if it were my farm. Guess there's a reason why at the gate it says "No refunds"... we drove all the way from Salinas. We were in San Jose for my husband's work trip and we're googling pumpkin patches to go to and this one really caught my eye since it was a farm. Coming from Laguna Niguel, we don't really have farms or farm pumpkin patches. We all fell in love with this place. Everything is beautiful and is a photo op just because of how beautiful it is, but it is also extremely fun! From feeding goats to corn mazes to riding the cow train. They also have the most awesome store inside. They had a bar onsite that looked gorgeous, but since we were with our 4 year old we didn't engage or go in. They had really good and reasonable priced food on site as well. For only $19.95 per person online, we gained all day access. The only negative thing was the weather! If you are not from hollister or the surrounding areas like us even if the weather says 75 just know it is not a breezy 75. It is an extremely hot one. I think everyone should go to Swank Farms at least once. They are beautiful and a vibe that can't be matched somewhere else. read more

WARNING!!!!!!!Drove from San Jose in traffic to find no farm. Nether of the addresses are correct. Being 8 pm and driving around in the dark is not ok. You can not even call. I will be getting my money back. You need to change the address so you do not waste people's time and gas. Good luck finding the place. Leave early you will be driving a Update drove back the next day and still was not finding this farm. I called the number and spoke with "Bonny" who said she was the owner. After arguing over what map to use she rudely said she has done this several times. And insisted it was correct. That tells me many people were having trouble. Then she stated I would not be given a refund and didn't care if I ever found it. I wish I had seen "Bonny" I took a picture of google map of the address they gave. It said 14 minutes away. That was in the parking lot. They took out the pumpkin toss it is now balls. The lights walk. Where to start. It doesn't open tell 730 not dusk. You have to walk a very long black path no lights. Bring one or your phone. I will not ever be going back. I hope this review saves you the money. If I could leave negative stars I would. I'm writing this review after leaving the farm a couple of minutes ago. Whoever the owners is needs to get their business together. When I got there with my family there were three long lines. NOT A SINGLE SIGN that's states which line is for what. There was one line to buy tickets, another line to get your wrist band and then the last line to actually get in to the farm. After being in the wrong line for more than 25 minutes had to get told to go to the other line and start all over. TOTAL TIME SOENT JUST TRYING TO GET IN: 45 minutes. Once in, my husband and I wanted to get a drink(beer) and after waiting another 25 minutes and be told they were out of 3 kinds of beer that we were going to get. Waste of time!!!! They clearly don't know how to put up signs for their customers. Everything in here was over priced. $15 for three tacos! WTF! $5 per taco?!?! That's a rip off. $6 for a small cupcake. $12 for a chocolate bomb. And $12 for a small thing of nachos with ground beef that was way toooo salty! And this isn't even the worst part. There is one main entrance to go to the trail of lights and the scary maze. 1. No one tells you which line is for which and the so called scary line took 2 hours to wait in. And once you get to the front they group you with another group and there is still the previous group close to the group you go in. So in short there was about 10-12 people in a line going thru the maze which took the fun out of the whole experience. Totally not worth my time. 2. The pumpkins are overpriced. 3. The corn maze not clean. I think 25 dollars should provide clean , all working attractions , supervision on attractions and some water on parking lot to avoid being bathed in dust . I really hope they improve being the only attraction in a small town for kids . read more

Swank Farms Biggest disappointment!!!! I was with my family today only one other family was there no others customers we played for about 20 mins headed over to the jelly ball so my boys could play the game ... as we were walking up looked like the owner came up recording the jell ball guy yelling and being very aggressive towards the vendor I was scared for my kids it became a big scene ! The woman was so aggressive she had to pulled away by another person.. this was outrageous behavior I spent over $100 to get me and my kids in and we left after 30 mins due to this women's behavior it was disgusting, rude and out of control speaking to a client this way!! DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILIES HERE!!! Swank farms should be embarrassed of this type of language and behavior!! Went on opening day for October 2023. My first time here. About 4-5 activities for the kids. We also did the trial of lights. Trail was very short, then you had the option to go into the scary corn maze (which is pitch black) so difficult to walk since the ground is uneven. Pumpkins were pricy but still bought some. For the price of the tickets to enter I would say it's not worth it. The prices can add up with a big family and there isn't much to do. read more
