Ric is truly an awesome guy!!! He works hard and knows his stuff. He fixed a bunch of broken shutters and replaced the staples with even stronger ones than the original ones. He also repaired a cracked/chipped shutter with some wood spackle. It's hard to see the repair after he was done. I'm not sure how he compares cost per hour, but I believe he was very fair and well worth every penny. I wish I found you sooner as we lived with busted blinds for years!!! read more

If I could give Ric 100 stars, I would. It's very stressful to have your plantation shutters broken. I called several places in San Diego for an estimate,all of which were over $1000. Just when I had almost lost all hope, I found Ric on Yelp. After reading all of the 5 star reviews, I made the call. Ric was very professional on the phone, and made it out the same day to come see the damage that had been done. He mentioned on the phone that he can usually fix things on the spot, which made me very excited to have him come look at it. When he saw the job, he realized that this wasn't something that could be done right away, and explained why. He took the plantation shutter from my place, and told me how much it was going to cost (SO AFFORDABLE), what he was going to do to fix it, and how long it would take. He got in touch with me a few days later and said he wasn't happy with the job he had done, and asked for a couple more days because the paint didn't match exactly. I cannot tell you how happy it made me to know that he wanted it to be absolutely perfect. He treated the shutter like it was his own. A couple days later, he said it was ready, and worked around my work schedule to come and install it. A few minutes after arriving, the fixed plantation shutter was installed. My shutters now look like nothing ever happened. They are absolutely perfect. He asked me if I needed help with anything else in the house, and if I had, the job would have gone to him. If I ever need any kind of shutter work done in the future, I will absolutely call Ric. I will recommend him to friends and family in the area. Thank you so much for everything, Ric! We recently purchased a home in Aviara with shutters throughout the home. Ric arrived early, was friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about all types of shutters. Our new home had at least three different brands/types of wood shutters, with all requiring different types of adjustments. Ric was able to work with them all. He explained the limitations of adjustments due to the design of some of the shutters; but made all of them work better. He was able to explain why our arched shutters were coming apart, and after he repaired them he provided options to help us avoid problems in the future. After completing his work, he even explained that we may want further adjustment after we have used the shutters a bit, and asked us to call him back if we wanted him to make those adjustments (at no additional charge). While travelling, we left our (big) dog with the parents and the first time they left him alone he tried to claw his way out of the house through their wood shutters...
