Some other anglers were hitting on Stripers with some Bucktail jigs. My 14 yr old son was determined he was going to get one of them so I got on Google Maps and found the nearest fishing supply store. Matt answered the phone. He was so pleasant and helpful. He told me exactly what kind of jigs we needed. He knows because he is a regular angler at that same spot. He fished for a long time without any bites. As soon as we got the jigs from Matt he caught fish on the 3rd cast. Who better to sell you the supplies than the guy that catches the fish. He showed me lots of pictures on his phone of his recent catches. The service and prices were great. I really enjoyed meeting this young man - and what a beautiful, well-stocked store he has. He will treat you just like family. Well, my son caught several large stripers with Matt's help and advice. We had a wonderful day. Our boat sat at the shop for nearly two weeks, and during that entire time, we received no updates. We were never called with a diagnosis, never given a timeline, and never told what work was being performed. I finally had to call them myself, only to be told, "Oh yeah, we were going to call you." At that point, we were informed they had put a fuel pump on the boat and wanted my husband to come listen to a noise. Frustrated by the lack of communication, we decided to pick the boat up and take it elsewhere. To make matters worse, we were never called or informed that the fuel pump on our boat was going to be removed. We were never asked for approval, and no one explained what was being done. When I picked the boat up and paid the diagnostic fee, nothing was mentioned about it. It wasn't until I got home and my husband looked at the boat that we realized the pump they had put on had been removed and our old fuel pump had been left sitting on the back seat. After nearly two weeks, we were left with a bill, a vague diagnosis, poor communication, and more questions than answers and a removed fuel pump sitting on the back seat of our boat. The complete lack of updates and failure to communicate what work was being performed made this an extremely frustrating experience. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this shop to anyone in the area.

The rates here are a little more expensive than at Highland Marina but you get what you pay for. The drive is also a little further, I think it's the first exit for AL if you are driving from Atlanta on 85 South. View the pics of the cabin. We only spent 4 hours in the cabin. But it was much nicer to me than Highland. More modern and spacious as well. I didn't like that I couldn't wake off the deck to the back yard. But the bigger cabins allow you to do so. The good thing was that every cabin allows you direct access to the lake. And yes, you can see the deer playing around first thing in the morning. Please note that the office closes early like 4 (call to ask) in the afternoon. The office is also a store, they have a few snacks, NO COFFEE bring your own if you need it in the morning. They do provide a coffee pot in the cabins. The store has bait, fishing essentials and the usual items (tooth paste, soap, foil) that is typically found in mom and pop type stores on the lake. There are upwards of 20 cabins ranging from 1 - 3 bedrooms. I loved #20. 3 bedrooms a deck that allowed you to walk from the kitchen to the lake. But I should warn you #20 is on the side of the beach area and the playground. So kids will be there all day playing and adults will be there on the beach area doing what grown ups do. Maybe #19 would be a better pick if you want peace and quiet. The first 5 cabins are adjacent to the Marinas office. No worries there because there's a big Lake separating the two. If I planned on having some friends join us, I would rent the first 5 cabins or get #20 and ask 2 other couples to come out. WHY? Because the cabins are not spaced far apart enough to feel comfortable having a party. Now I he gone to cabins that had only a 100 feet between the two, so this is NOT a complaint. But as a good neighbor, I think my family and friends could be a little too loud for the cabin next door. So I would try to at least get 1-3 or 3-5. But for a group of party people get #20. Trust me on this. And thank me later! Not only can you rent the cabins, but you can also rent a boat for about 8 hours or maybe even half a day. Please call and verify all of this. And keep in mind that you have to gas that B back up. So have you at least $50 to gas up your rental upon return. And you also can leave your boat here and pay for storing it here. We only caught 4 fish this time, but I still enjoyed night fishing and cruising on the beautiful waters of West Point Lake.

I have purchased 2 brand new boats here...a Bentley pontoon and a Bentley tritoon. The buying…read moreexperience was good. However, the service department is less than par. I took my boat last year for routine service with a full tank of gas. Got it back with just enough gas to go to the station. I let that pass and didn't say anything. I had my boat picked up recently for yearly maintenance, to stick a piece of trim back on the floor area, and to check my radio that made a popping sound in the speaker (radio worked when we loaded the boat on the trailer). I called after 7 days to check the status of the service and was given a bill higher than expected. Only to find out they put a new radio in my boat (i didn't authorize - but paid for it) and was told they fixed the floor trim. Got the boat back and the trim is exactly like it was when they got it. I asked to pick up my old radio and was told to come by. Got there (2 hour drive) and the radio was nowhere to be found. Very aggravating! Sales is great but service is horrible. I will not be doing business at CGM again.
