Primitive CAMPING AT THE PARK…read more Memorial day weekend Absolutely love to stay really beautiful, super peaceful and quiet at night other than it being Memorial Day weekend once that cooled down absolutely amazing Camp site We got one of these smaller sites. I wanna say we were at number 10. It was very nice, but it is very unlevel so putting up a tent and walking around in the tent was rough on your feet because it was nothing but roots sticking up out of the ground Luckily enough, we were primitive camping, but still did take an air mattress, but if you were sleeping in a sleeping bag, this would have been a huge problem Something to think about four people who go to primitive camping, but glamp with generators lights, etc. be considerate of your neighbors yes, we do understand that. It was memorial day weekend, but our neighbors had a generator and lights on bright enough You could probably see it from the moon. Even after they went to bed, left their lights on! They were quiet and really kept to themselves even with the children they had with them, but it was not very primitive due to that was a huge bummer to hear a generator going all night long and to be lit up like Fort Knox Also, one of the problems with that is, we were specifically told that even if it was a battery powered generator, they were strictly not allowed, but yet there was clearly that rule is not enforced ADULT Noises Again, memorial day weekend there's drinking going on but for my first time experience here without going into detail, some people sound like chickens being strangled when it's ADULT TIME and you may want to pack a pair of headphones for your small children so that when they hear animals of the night, that sound like rabbits fighting for their life in the tent next to you that they are not scared by the two legged wildlife if you know what I mean lol Roads/car traffic/ATV Traffic was busy again. I'm going to say it was because of the fact that was memorial day but speeding is a major problem if you're planning on walking your little ones to the bathroom you will need to keep a hold of them because it's NASCAR from ATVs to side-by-side they go fast Bathrooms Clean BUT you can see through the curtains which made me really nervous because in my brain if I can see you, you can see me so I ended up bringing clothes pens and a super big beach towel to hang over the curtain Washer and dryer There is a washer and dryer on site that is free to use. It's pretty awesome because nobody really leaves their clothes in there too long and everyone shares it amazing. Lake/fiahing Fishing was absolutely amazing. There's multiple different boat ramps that you can go in Fish off of or you can bank Fish. Do keep in mind that you will need your fishing license because we did get stopped an the 2 men next to us did get a hefty fine for fishing without a license With this being said, I do plan to go again, but I'm going to try to veer away from Big holidays, just due to the fact of the strangled chicken situation

If I could give these guys 1/2 a star, I'd go with that. Their applaingly rude behavior truly…read moredeserves no stars. Though they advertise as a place that offers month to month business, my husband and I were offering them a guaranteed month to month business for a good bit of time while working in the area, however long they would work with us on, bouncing to another place if we exceeded their desired amount of time, and both people we spoke with - a woman one day and a man named Justin another, were very rude and "uppity/snooty". We have a 2023 Primetime Sanibel Widebody 5th wheel, 43 feet in length, very nice condition, and are two professional people (my husband an Operations Manager for a billboard company and I a Bid/Dept Manager for a Food Distributor, with a combined income of over $175k per year) and their response was "we wouldn't be a good fit" after we spoke with them guaranteeing we would abide by their strict rules. When we mentioned we may once in a blue moon babysit our grandkids while there, before I even finished my sentence, we were given a very terse response which was a strong indicator they do not want kids there. Obviously not family friendly. They mentioned not wanting "trashy trailers" and "trailer trash" type people in their campground - of which we aren't, but wow, the judgement - and that they currently have some campers they are "trying to be rid of", so camp with ease or expect to be thrown out. They want only new campers there, and royalty. I guess if you take a stab at them you'll have to see if you meet their high standards or contrarily meet their definition of "trailer trash". Beware, if your camper, though well maintianed yet only a 2021 model, you're trailer trash. Again, very picky, very high standards, strict rules, unbending, uppity, and just rude with a "holier than though" attitude. Apparently not very interested in keeping their business running either. We drove through the park on 4/20/26 and over half their campsites were empty. I wonder why. Yet, they turn down guaranteed month to month business for a time we were willing to allow them to designate. We will gladly take our business elsewhere to a much friendlier staff at a nicer, more secure campground nearby we have recently learned of - where we won't have to listen to trains pass behind us all day, and can watch kids be kids and play. Sad thing is, we've given them our business before while in Columbus, but never will again, and will tell all we know of a large group of campers we are affiliated with of their rude, snooty ways. Traveling through the area? I'd recommend staying elsewhere. Corps of Engineer parks on nearby West Point Lake (Amity, Shaefer Hard, Holiday, and WhiteTail Ridge), a campground on nearby Lake Harding (Blanton Creek), two near Fort Benning (one GA side - Camp David, the other AL side), one in Fort Benning (Uchee Creek), a KOA in nearby Americus, Ga and Auburn RV Resort in nearby Auburn, AL to name just a few. That is, unless you like to hobknob with the snooty folk.

I came back to enjoy this beautiful park because it held such great memories for me. It is Labor Day weekend and there were 2 other cars in the parking lot. I left because I didn't want to have to pay a hefty fine if the park ranger came around. It's a shame really. Charge a day use fee, but allow others to enjoy the park as well without having to pay such an exorbitant fee.

My BF grew up in the area and says this new park/lake has all of the fish that was once housed in Line Creek Parks lake. Long story short it sounds like the two lakes got combined and is now a bigger better lake known as Lake McIntosh. I believe the park opened in July 2013. The entrance that we used is at the end if TDK Blvd and I believe the complex was called Southpark something :-) . It's a 1-2 minutes from the PTC Airport. If you blink you will miss it so be on the lookout. Turn off Joel Cowan Pkwy onto TDK Blvd and get your $10 ready! There is a paved walking trail, restrooms, a gazebo, benches along the trail, a playground for the kids and much more! You can dock your boats here too. Fishing requires a GA Fishing permit. There is a $10 park entrance fee if you are NOT a resident of Fayette County. You can bring your pets as long as they remain leashed and of course you should make sure to clean up after Fido or Kitty! This is PTC so you have the option of jumping in one of the family Golf Carts (Apparently you can rent them as well) or your Automobile to get there. There is parking there for both. Unfortunately, we took the golf cart because I wanted the experience of riding around PTC in a golf cart. Of course, it was a scorcher that day. Now, my Father told me often times that you should learn something new every day of your life. On this day,I learned to ride around PTC in the damn truck when it's 95 + degrees outside! I would have given a 5 Star but I need proof that there are fish up in the spot first and there is NO SWIMMING ALLOWED! ***We visited again in mid December 2015 and were happy to see that the fish are finally ready. We will be back to see how well we do once our boat is done with repairs.
