I was getting a few chairs ready for a line dancing class that happens every Wednesday evening when…read morean older, female staff member walked into the room interrogating me. I had taken class there many times and had seen the staff member act suspiciously similar to other patrons, but I wasn't prepared for this interaction that left me never wanting to set foot in that establishment ever again. After her unnecessary interrogation, which I tried to politely respond to, she left for a few minutes, then walked back into class on two separate occasions to complain about me to the instructors while I was in the same room. I was a paid customer and the instructors are longtime renters of the community center. As if that wasn't bad enough, the staff member waited until I was near the entrance, bumped into me, then directed her attention to the thermostats. There were a lot of patrons in the room, so it was quite hot. The thermostats were set to 71, but she felt the need to turn them both to 72. After raising the temperature in the room, she finally walked back behind the bar. As a paid customer who was simply volunteering his time to help set up the room for dance class, the treatment I received from this staff member was deeply unfortunate. I will never do business there again.

After all, I was told he Joel Acciardo Chief of Police would want me to tell him exactly what I wanted from the officers and what happened to me. I complied. I was told that the Hope Mills Police Chief Joel Acciardo had a 0 tolerance for his officers abusing their authority. Guess that too was untrue. Hope Mills is not a big metropolitan county so if the incident and those officers who would do this are being paid by the citizens they can freely and blatantly misuse their authority then Hope Mills has a problem, a serious problem. BTW I am a Disabled American Veteran so this is double the disrespect and insult for my service to this country.

Got an inside look on what few things out of lot of task they do to protect the citizens of Hope Mills. It is a fairly small department, but that doesn't mean that the corners are cut due to their size at all and thats what I liked. I like how safe the officer was. He was very informative on everything he did so that I could easily understand what was happening from neighborhood patrols to traffic stops. Like I said in the beginning I cant commend him and the rest of the officers on shift on how well they were Helpful, Respectful and Professional the whole time. Will defiantly be doing another ride along soon.

After about 30 seconds of deliberation, we decided to peek-a-boo somewhere else. The club itself seemed nice enough...a nice bar, billiard tables, catwalk dancing stages complete with poles. But the dancers and clientele were almost exclusively the darker non-upscale variety (which I have nothing against but just not really my style). However, I feel that it was a friendly place as we were greeted by dancers and bouncers encouraging our stay. The clientele looked a bit rough as they rolled in driving hoop-dees and huge rimmed SUVs. Although we didn't stay, this place seemed like a great place for the right person.
