Service goes on for a while then off then on. It's been off for at least 2 hours this time and several other times this morning. They don't answer the phone. You are lucky IF you even get it to ring. This company had their people digging in my yard without my permission to install internet for my neighbor. Im not a customer of theirs. When I noticed what they were doing and asked them they just kept digging and said they would "put it back " when they were done. This is beyond the worst cable company I have EVER had in my life. Where do I start? The cable constantly goes in and out, it freezes. I've called customer service on several different occasions and had to wait 45 mins or longer to actually speak with someone. They call themselves troubleshooting the connection and it fixes the issue for a day or so then it's right back to acting crazy again. Not to mention the cable boxes literally look like old school VCRs. They are so big and bulky they honestly look like the first cable boxes ever made and it shows through their performance. So if you're looking for reliable cable I advise you not to even think about WOW... DO NOT DO IT! Details11/07/2021 I wish I could give a negative review. This is the second time in less than two weeks that my internet has gone down. The last time the idiot technician has me resent the box with a toothpick which took it back to factory setting, erasing my username and password. Then he couldn't figure out what he'd done. I had to mention the new network name. When I asked him why it had reset my personal one, he said it was because my password wasn't secure and Wow did this for my internet safety. What a lie!!! I spent 4 hours that weekend putting the new WiFi username and password in. Now, one week later it! Is out again. I pay extra for the internet 500 plan and my televisions buffer multiple times daily. When I do a check on my computer it is nowhere near where it is supposed to be. They want to pay me $50 to refer a friend. The only people I would refer are ones I want to have grief in their life. This company deserves ZERO stars for service quality. The internet service is garbage. And, its customer service deserves NEGATIVE stars. When I left my apartment and ended service, they issued a bogus refund check for a measly $2.52 - this check bounced. My bank charged me a returned check fee of $15.00 for their failure to be able to pay $2.52. I spent 30 minutes on the phone with their WoW customer service rep who told me "they could do nothing about me being charged for a check, their check, which indeed bounced." WOW is the worst freaking wifi company. Storm screwed up the machine so it doesn't work. We called on the 27th and set up a time for Thursday CONFIRMED it TWICE with the person on the phone that it's 3-5 that someone will come by. We check the website to see if everything is still good and it says it's from 12-3 which absolutely not would have worked so we wouldn't have set that. We get an email at 12:45 saying a tech is on the way but no one showed yet. Then why is it when we ask why it's set for 12-3 instead of 3-5 like we confirmed they tell us someone came and rang our doorbell and tried to call and knocked at 12?!?! We would've heard a doorbell since we were at home. Now we have to wait ANOTHER three days until Sunday that they have another availability. My husband is in school and we're using up our phone data (mint won't let you sign up for unlimited data until you finish out the plan) so we're literally spending money every day so that we can be able to continue with school and stuff we can't just go to Starbucks every single time he needs to do school work. We have to pay for more data just to use our Hotspots and its wasting money. When we mentioned why this was a problem and they needed to get someone here they just said "well technically it's only been this many days and it would only cost you 12 dollars with no wifi". 3 gigs of data is 20 and it doesn't last as long as we need every day. If you're a student or work on home or rely on wifi in any way...don't contact wow. They don't give a crap. We asked if there was a way just to send the router and they just said there is no other way and we have to wait for the tech. They said it will cost nothing because of the storm at least but im honestly still expecting them to send a bill and then tell us they didn't say that.​ read more

I wish I could give a negative rating because this is not just the worst telecommunications company, but the worst company ever in any field. The billing is often wrong. I pay for their 500 Mbps but only get 175 Mbps. They try to charge for technicians to come out to fix their problems. The cable and internet service drops daily. The customer service is horrible. Today I got a post card saying they were sorry for losing me as a customer and that I owed over $400. The only problem with this is that I never dropped the service and I don't owe them any money. We are told that someone came already and worked on the line. But no one called and told us so we were waiting. This happened twice and still internet not working. On the phone for an hour with a technician that did not know much more than I did about my internet service. was told a technician would be at my house between 11-12 but nobody showed. Called back and was told a technician would be at my house around 2:45 and would call me before they got here. No call from the technician who showed up and LEFT. Told me i needed to reschedule as he had other appointments. Back on the phone for 30 more minutes and still no manager is available to speak with me. I've been a customer for roughly 45 days and this is my experience thus far. Salesman reaches out ahead of 2 weeks ahead of my move date and I express interest. He proceeds to call me every day leading up to my move. The day before my move, when I had gained access to my new apartment, I have a meeting with an installation guy and he's unable to set up service due to technical restrictions. I work with the salesman to get remote support which initially fails. I troubleshoot the issue and notice my modem gets bricked (unresponsive) every time they push configuration. I ask the remote support guy to rebuild my account to see if that corrects the issue. After two hours of following his instruction, he rebuilds my account, I reset my modem for the 100th time, and the issue is resolved. Fast forward 45 days when I go to pay my first bill. The billed amount is $130 with no installation fee or leased equipment. My total monthly bill should be locked in at a promotional price of $45 per month. I call support where the first support worker insists that my bill is $70 per month, despite this amount exceeding the full rate (no promotions applied) for the internet only services I'm receiving. I attempt to work though her bad attitude for 35 minutes before asking to speak with her supervisor who she has repeatedly tried to engage to escalate. I'm finally placed on hold for 10 minutes and a new support worker picks up the phone with no knowledge of my engagement up to this point. After level-setting with the guy for another 20 minutes and explaining how ridiculous the situation is, he's able to resolve my billing issue (for now). To date, I've missed 2.5 days of work and spent well over 6 hours on the phone with support to receive mediocre internet services. I have pretty limited options in my current housing so I'm a bit trapped, but I'll happily share any future developments so those with options can make a more informed decision. Used WOW for 4 years. Paid bill on line each month after receiving the email. In June they called and said payment was reversed. Had to be their error or the bank, as I did not know how to reverse one that had been processed. Had to use credit card to pay. Next month they added 31.58 late fee and said they could no longer take my check as payment. Had to dispute with credit card company to get resolved. Horrible customer service from WOW. Switched to AT&T and could not be happier. They wanted my business!! read more

I later spoke with a member of the WOW! team who explained what probably happened. There was a lot of construction going on at our apartment complex and the cable, telephone, power, and plumbing companies were stepping all over each other. Unfortunately, neither the frontline technicians nor the customer service representatives with whom I spoke were able to explain how this might have contributed to the issue. I signed up for WOW 30MG on Friday, signing onto an absurdly onerous one-year contract stipulating that I pay a monthly penalty of $15 if I cancel early. My internet service is significantly less than what I'm paying for, which I note is priced at $10 a month higher than what is advertised. In addition, they keep trying to sell me a $5/month additional "service protection plan" and I keep explaining to them that I shouldn't be obliged to pay an addition fee over what I'm paying to get what I'm paying for. I order a technician to come and fix the internet, which they do not do, and then they tell me that if I don't sign on for this extortion, I will have to pay $50 for their time on some nonsense travel toll. I sign up for an ADDITIONAL $5/month for three months, the minimum necessary to prevent me from incurring their "fee" for pretending to provide me the service I am paying for anyway. How is this legal? If I pay you for internet, at nearly 50% over the rate advertised, how am I then responsible to pay you an additional fee when there are problems? That is your end of the contract, not mine. In August of last year, Comcast was hit with a similar suit regarding "unfair and deceptive trade practices" and was ordered to pay $73 m in damages. Postscript: I called threatening a BBB complaint, and the agent, Ivan (C6722) was extremely apologetic, took the name of the installer, and promised to cancel the SPP and any fee incurred. He also remotely restored my wifi to the speed I'm paying for. I won't know whether the SPP is cancelled until I receive my first bill, but this was a big and welcome change. Would you believe it? Ivan claims the field technician, Cody, misrepresented the way the SPP works to get me to sign up for it. As a person who inhabits an adult female body, I spend most of my life fending off people trying to take advantage of various vulnerabilities, real or perceived. Being extorted by field service technicians with double-talking legal theories like "all the big companies do it" is just below my intellectual tax bracket at this point. Poor service, poor speed, poor customer service. The issue is we have to use them, if they had competition they would have to improve or go out of business. Where is Charter when I need them, we are a business and our service drops out daily and this costs us money and time. A truly terrible customer service experience. Our Internet service was in and out all of last week. We called and an agent came out today, and replaced the modem, claiming the modem (which WOW gave us) was the problem. He did not wait for five minutes, after which it was clear that our service was still out (the modem was obviously not the fix). My wife, who has a six-month-old baby with her, was understandably frustrated after being told that the problem was fixed by the new modem. Tonight I called, and was told that they are working on the problem, and may or may not have it fixed by tomorrow. Not only do you have daily glitches in the digital service to look forward to, but anytime there's a brisk bout of rain, you may as well be on a desert island, because you will have absolutely no connectivity. If I could give 0 stars I would. We just purchased a new house and I scheduled an appointment with this company for next day installation between 9-11am. At 11:40 the day of installation we had to call WOW to find out where the technician was. That was when the representative told us the appointment was cancelled because of a past due balance at that address. Then informed us that they will not install service until we go into their office with the paperwork from us buying the home. This company did not bother calling or emailing us about this issue, but we had to call them. Then can't seem to go after individuals who don't pay their bill, but attach the balance to an address. WOW is not customer friendly or focused. Have had an issue for over a week. Keep sending service guys and they have not figured it out yet. Unfortunately WOW is the only provider in my neighborhood otherwise I wouldn't have anything to do with them. I was supposed to have my service installation today and had an appointment between 9am and 11am. I was under the impression that install meant they would be able to drop cable since my house is new and doesn't have any cable infrastructure. But I guess to WOW, "install" means everything is there and they just have to show up and turn it on. So, the tech showed up at 10:20, completely unprepared, and told us that he couldn't do the install because he isn't allowed to access attics in the summer after 10am. Then why did you schedule an install appointment time AFTER 10am!! And why isn't "new install" noted on your service ticket so tech's know they need to be prepared and come before 10am? And apparently they don't work weekends, so now I have to wait until Monday for the next appointment. Because of that, I had to completely cancel my move to my new house this weekend because I absolutely have to have internet to work my online business. But wait...it gets better...the earliest appointment time on Monday is from 8am to 10am and there's no way to guarantee the first appointment of the day! So now I have to take several hours off of work for them to potentially show up at 10am on Monday and STILL not be able to install because of the "Georgia heat" policy! So this could go on for days until someone can show up before 10am. So much for next day service! AT&T never had this problem with installs and was also $30 cheaper a month. WOW can basically do whatever they want because they know they are the only provider and they clearly don't care about their poor reviews. Seriously, you can only do installations for 2 hours out of the day 5 days a week? Yay Columbus GA for being 30 years behind in internet technology, allowing for these kind of monopolies that foster poor customer service. read more

Ever since we signed up for 60 mbps, internet goes out every couple of weeks starting at 6pm- the next day and works from maybe 8am-6pm following day. Mbps goes to 0.23. We do everything they tell us to do, they even reboot on their side. Constant headaches with these people. Had no problems when we were at 30 mbps, i wonder why. Cheap people. read more

I called to have my internet and cable connected through WOW!, despite the bad reviews. AND I MADE A BAD CHOICE. Not only did the first technician show up FOUR hours late, he left my house without my cable connected, trash in my yard, and left OPEN wires. I have a child and three dogs at home, this is UNACCEPTABLE. When the technician came out to fix the repairs the last technician left behind (after I called three days in a row), he hit my trashcan with his truck and spewed my trash all over my driveway. I have pictures of all these incidents from this UNPROFESSIONAL company. Not only did it take almost 5 days to get a supervisor to even respond to me, but then to have him hit my trashcan and leave my trash everywhere is just a disgrace to the company as a whole. Wow, has to to at the very top of the list for abysmal service and customer satisfaction. I have not met one person who liked their price deceptions of customer care. After you get angry and drop them they demand that you deliver their components back to them or they will bill you for them, even thought they delivered them to your house. I had a service tech tell me to purchase my own router because theirs are not adequate enough to service the entire average home (3 bdrm). without dead spots and significant signal failure. If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. We are absolutely disgusted with Wow - Knology's services. We initially had cable bundled with internet. Every other day our cable would randomly go to a black screen and we would have to call them to get the signal back every time. The time to get it back ranged from 5 minutes to 1 hour depending on how many times we had to try to get them to initiate a new signal. As if this weren't enough, On Demand services only worked about 25% of the time, skipping, or freezing regardless of what type of program you are attempting to load. This occurred with paid programs as well as their free ones. After about 60 occurrences of the cable "losing signal" within a 6 month period, we decided to cancel the cable services and continue our internet service with them, as we had not experienced any issues with their internet... YET. We negotiated a price around $30/month for internet, and to our surprise we received a $107.20 bill the very next month. We called immediately to find out what miscommunication occurred, and they assured me that the bill had been released before they had a chance to change it, and we would be credited the remaining amount (after the $30 deduction was taken) to our account. The following month we were billed an additional $13.45. Confused, we called again and were immediately met with attitude and a completely outrageous argument. They just kept repeating that they "bill the month in advance", which made no sense at all because they went on to explain that we were being billed for the previous month's upgraded internet charges (we did not at any point upgrade internet or any other services). This conversation ended abruptly when we became too frustrated to continue arguing with them. We called back two weeks later, and were met with a completely different explanation. At this point they were arguing that the $30 we were promised would be the final price after taxes and fees, was in fact the internet price alone, without taxes, fees, internet service fees or equipment charges. At this point we rechecked our bill, referencing to the previous month and found that they had changed our "upgraded cable" cost from $10 to $30, and tacked on a previously absent "wireless modem" charge of $25 on top of our previous $10 modem charge which existed in previous months. Needless to say, we are completely disgusted with these phantom charges for services and equipment we have never received or even heard of. WOW is a perfect name for this company... They will WOW you with their shady customer service, terrible interpersonal skills and general lack of concern for your problems which they created in the first place. Do yourself a favor and pass on these thieves if you have any other options.. read more
