The guys ordered beers of choice and we girls had club soda with lime - a $3.00 charge. Some places it's free. The food was so much we didn't finish even though we split a meal. Observed over serving drunk patrons. The bar owner decided he doesn't care because he owns other bars in Calgary. The owner is not local and let the staff do whatever they want because they do not come out to see what they are doing. Like the environment, its okay for a dive bar... do not like the staff and will NOT go into this establishment unless they get rid of the poor staffing. I would visit ANY location in Cochrane besides this place, there are WAY better options with lower pricing and staff that actually care and pay attention. Here we are, back in Cochrane, again for hockey and found this gem again!!!! Hubs only complaint (as a diabetic) is their only sugar substitute was sugar twin which is YUCK - truly. It would be better if they had Splenda. I noticed a sign that on Sundays they serve waffles! Second time, I had beef dip, it was average. I got the same sides both times - veggies and dip, it was great on both occasions, and fries. The first time the fries were good, the second was not. My ranch and dill dip were room temp the second time around, which was somewhat unsettling. First trip, my date and I had Stella - it was on special and it was tasty and crispy. On my second visit, my date had an ice cold Guinness, I had the blond, both were cold and refreshing. I tried a sip of the Guinness and it was the best I have ever had. I would go there for drinks, but if I'm looking for a solid meal, Original Joes would not be my first pick, I think there are better places but it is conveniently located and you know what you're going to get.
