Took my Bmw coupe to get wrapped on February 28 , 2020 the owner of wrappin la did NOT finish my vehicle until March 13, 2020 .. 2 weeks later he was only suppose to keep it for "one week" He did NOT update me to let me know my vehicle wasn't going to be ready for pick up until I reached out to him a day before I was suppose to pick it up which was March 5,2020 he then told me that he was in the "emergency room" and that he did not know when he would be released. I get it , things happen but this is when it gets rocky. On March 13,2020 is the day I went for my vehicle it. Wrappin La had messaged me saying it will be ready "around 6pm". I live by the San Manuel casino. So I have to leave at least 2 hours before to be safe (traffic) . I then message him @4:10 saying I'm omw he then messages me back @4:54 saying it will Not be ready until 7pm. So I arrive there @5:22pm (waiting outside in my car) . At the moment I did not mind waiting , he then messages me @7:04 saying "in 30 mins it will be done" he did NOT end up bringing out my vehicle until 8:30 pm once it was completely dark outside . So of course you can NOT see any mess ups on your vehicle you're trusting the "professional of 5years" to do his job RIGHT. The job was rushed. The next morning , I go outside to look at my vehicle. There's a few things I noticed that he did.. 1. He broke my car door handle to my passenger door and DID NOT MENTION it to me , until I brought it up. His answer was "Yeah i know im waiting for a guy to call me for one but it did have a crack inside in the wood when i took it off it broke" Okay , so let's say there was a "crack" inside why NOT tell the customer you broke the car door handle? 2. He had kept my emblems to my car the emblems that say the model of the vehicle. - he mentioned he "forgot" and that he will give them to me once he gives me the car door handle 3. I noticed a few mess ups here and there on the wrap but I did not reach out to him because I thought "they're little mess ups , who cares". On March 24, 2020 I noticed the wrap was getting even worse . So , I sent him pictures of my back bumper . It was wrinkled and bubbled up. He offered to fix it once he gets my car door handle. Around same time I notice that one of the plastic scoops on the fender which should be clipped in was loose , we checked it and clips are broken off and both front side scoops were put back on with double sided tape on top of the wrap , we didn't even bring up this incident we just wanted this to be over . 4. April 11, 2020 I sent him a picture of my trunk that the wrap was cut short so it was unwrapping and showing the color of the vehicle underneath . His response to the picture was "The trunk was not like that when it left here that is too far out like some one ripped it its not even pulling back like if it was to peel back". So then I show him a video saying "it was cut short" and his answer to that was "Nope you can see the white when its closed and theres no way it would leave here like that and it has a rip that is visible when its closed that was done by you guys" He did not offer to fix it because it was done by "us" okay that's fine by that point I just want my bumper & car door handle fixed & emblems back. 5. Sometime towards the end of April we (my boyfriend and I went) so he can ask him what's going on with the car door handle since he kept giving me the run around saying he could not find a car door handle. That same day he did give us my emblems back and $40 for the car door handle since we found one for $40 He tried fixing wrap but did not have enough wrap. So , he puts in an order for the wrap. Which is fine as long as something's getting done. 6. April 28, 2020 he messages me saying the wrap is in. We set a date for the wrap to be installed since he mentioned it would be done in 3 hours if we take the bumper to him unwrapped. If the bumper stays on with the wrap it would be in for a day but I did not want that , since it was my only vehicle at the time. We would make appointments then cancel , then reschedule. Thanks for responding Chris, but let me clarify a little more because you seem to have your mind a little blurred. After all, you are acknowledging the issue ONE YEAR LATER. 1. You NEVER asked for a deposit. I paid you the amount we agreed on for the service we agreed on, which was the CHROME DELETE. 2. I did NOT cancel 3 appointments. I simply said I couldn't go to the times you said. I was not going to call off to go the times you wanted. I believe there was 1 time when we agreed on a time and you said nothing in the days to come and you decided to confirm that same day, and I couldn't make it. PLEASE POST THE MESSAGES, because apparently it is needed to refresh your memory. 3. I NEVER ASKED TO GET A SPOILER WRAPPED. I wanted to get the backlight tinted. Recollect the facts. I stated I SPONTANEOUSLY got a spoiler and was no longer interested in doing the services I asked the price on, which was the taillight tint and blacking out the emblems. I should have been clear and simply stated I was no longer in doing them after the crappy job you did. How was I supposed to trust you with additional services? 4. I never "begged" you to order material. THERE IS NO WAY I WOULD BEG YOU TO ORDER THE MATERIAL AFTER WHAT KIND OF JOB YOU DID. YOU ARE TOO AHEAD OF YOURSELF. 5. LASTLY, your comment clearly demonstrated your lack in professionalism in customer service. NO ADDITIONAL SERVICES = NO FIXING THE SHIT JOB YOU DID. Plain and simple, Chris. I had the idea to change the front of my old fridge and looked into magnetic skins I found from a company in Florida. When they arrived I decided not to install it myself because I wanted it to look professionally done (the cuts would be tricky to do with the curvy parts of the fridge). After calling a ton of local upholsterers, my boyfriend and I came across Chris' car wrapper business and he said he could do the job. We sent him photos and clearly communicated that this was a magnetic piece that would go on our fridge but when he arrived he claimed no one told him it was magnetic, he thought it was a vinyl sheet. Watching him work was painful and confusing, he didn't measure anything but he asked to borrow a metal ruler from us in order to cut the giant magnet sheet...but NOT TO MEASURE. I thought, ''interesting process, maybe he's got some secret.'' When he was done cutting, I noticed he made two overcuts that were very off and obviously not good. I pointed out the overcuts and he didn't take personal responsibility. He said ''it ripped.'' When I pointed out that you could tell it was an overcut from his blade, he agreed. I asked him ''Does this look good to you? What if this was the work someone did at your house?'' and he responded with something like ''Well I wouldn't use magnetic material.'' and ''Well I'm OCD too.'' Really, Chris? Saying that I'm complaining because it wasn't perfect? After some back and forth, he took $20 off the fee because he acknowledged that I was unhappy. Listen, I understand the material was difficult, that's why I hired a professional. I understand he's never done this before. What I don't understand is why he would say he could do the job. I couldn't stress enough to him how important it was that he needed to be careful, there's no going back. This is an expensive magnetic skin that came from Florida. Red flag from the get go: he was ill-prepared and his method was sloppy. I guess it's my fault for not hovering over him and telling him how to do a job he's never done. Chris, some advice: you're not there yet bro, maybe learn a thing or two before you start your own business. 1) Own up to messing up. 2) Don't play dumb - it's not a good look and won't help you with everything else you do in all aspects of life. 3) Why would you show up to a job not knowing what you're doing? 4) Do you have any standards? I told you be careful. LISTEN better. Be focused. Don't take the job if you're not sure you can do it well. Manage your customer's expectation too. I would be embarrassed if I were you and wouldn't even charge you. 5) Just apologize. Just apologize. Just apologize. read more
