After 2 install attempts I cannot recommend Car City Custom. The installers were nice but clearly inexperienced. On the first visit, they arrived 1 hour late. I watched them overtighten the inner door panels and break some tabs on my interior trim. Then the window film had tears (pics 1 and 2). They agreed to replace, and after the second visit the film was still cut poorly (pic 3 and 4) and I have dust particles trapped in the film. I will not be returning. read more

Had a car re tinted. Was given a quote for tint removal and replacement for 5 windows (2 front 2 rear 1 rear windshield). Day of appointment was told that the quote did not include removal of tint for 2 front windows and that there would be an extra charge of $20. Told the tech sure as I understand it's not their fault and I'd reach out later. Techs were fine and did good enough job, as they worked really hard. Paid the adjusted total then reached out to company for feedback. Gave 2 stars for mobile service/decent pricing, and hard working techs Subtracted 3 for Mistake on quote. Reached out to company for clarification. Was basically told that rep was new and made a mistake. No compensation or solution offered. Too bad so sad. If I had known full price I may have gone with a diffent competitor but was baited into service. Miscommunicating services. They say tint removal. Tint was taken off but not removed. Old tint was left all over car seats and even my baby seat. Spent an extra hour vacuuming old tint shards from all over my car and driveway. Company said they are not a detailing service. Sure, not asking for a wash and wax either. Just pick up after yourselves. Or let me know beforehand that you do not remove the old tint completely Leading to my last star removal: timing and communication. I spoke to rep about a commitment I had at noon and if they could finish the job before then. They said yes even though I had my doubts and communicated that I would be free at a later date. Techs were on time at 8 am but did work very hard, past noon. They worked until 1230. After paying them and thanking them for their hard work I noticed all the debris left behind. I had to put in an extra hour of vacuuming as mentioned so that my toddlers would not be sitting in shards of old tint. Needless to say we left at 130, well past my originally quoted finish time of noon. I felt really confident in the service. They were very responsive, techs showed up on time, and they were very pleasant hard workers. I gave the company lots of chances to remedy the situation prior to posting the review but all they said is thanks for the feedback and they would review it with their team. Overall I would definitely not recommend this service to anyone. read more

These guys seemed cool at first when I first scheduled my initial tint job on my vehicle. Unfortunately, after a few days post install, the tint on the front passenger window didn't cure properly. There're bubbles in the tint and it looks awful. I texted the owner multiple times to have them fix the issue. The responses were fewer in between, then eventually was told he could only replace it at my office instead of my home because it was closer to their home base, even though the initial job was done at my home. I'm out of office for the next several weeks so doing the job at my office wasn't going to work. No follow up. Have a bad passenger front window tint job, so I'll unfortunately have to take it elsewhere at this point. Feel free to use these guys but don't count on them to stand by their work post install. Now I have to go spend $ elsewhere to get it corrected and done right. Beware. read more

I initially got the tint job (removal of the old tint on all windows and new tints) on my Lexus SUV with Car City Custom at the end of January. Fast forward a few months, I noticed the "finger" (narrow lifting of the tint at the edge) and the company sent out guys the very next day to fix it. I would highly recommend them for any tint job. Although I was pretty happy with how my tint came out for my windshield and 4 windows, I was pretty disappointed with some key details that could have been avoided. I normally don't do such lengthy reviews, however considering I spent about a good amount of my money, it was needed. First, their price was a pretty good deal as they charged me around $540-ish for the ceramic tint on windshield, 4 windows, and removal of my old tint on 2 windows. I did like that they offer to come to your home and do the work there. Alex and his partner were friendly. However, here is where my disappointment of the service comes into play: 1. Length of time: - Over my yelp messaging with them, they originally told me the work would be done in 45 minutes. Then, when they arrived for my appointment in person they told me it would take 2 hours. It actually ended up taking a total of close to 3 hours. So the timing was inconvenient in that sense. However, they told me it took longer than expected because of there gardening work being done plus the wind. 2. Messiness: - After the work was completed, I noticed some overspray had been left on my car's touchscreen display. I attached a picture for reference. -I also noticed dried-up smears across my windshield, likely from the cloth they used to wipe it down. It's been a week and a half since the job was done, and the marks are still there 3. No warning tape was put on windows - I would assume a car tint company would apply a "warning tape" to not roll down your windows, to help the customer be reminded of this. However, they did not have this. Instead, Alex just verbally told me to not roll down my windows 3-5 days after the work was done. So, I had to go get tape from my own house and put it on my windows to ensure I wouldn't accidentally roll them down out of instinct. 4. Rearview mirror mount is loosened - While I am unsure whether this was because of the tint job, since the tint job, my mirror keeps sliding downward out of place. I had never had this problem, so it makes me question if they applied too much pressure near the mirror base which might have caused the mount to become loosened up. I did like how you can pay in cash or through debit/credit card. However, there is a processing fee if you use a debit/credit card. Overall, I think my experience here could have been a lot better. I am happy with the tint on my car, but the process itself could have been better. read more
