I recently hired Wright choice for not one but two property inspections. The first uncovered some rather concerning items so we backed out of that contract and found a better place. Both times Chris was our inspector. He was super thorough and took his time then went over each item with me. It has been a very long time since I needed a home inspection, and the inspector that I always used has long since retired. Taking a chance on the unknown can be a risk, and can also be a bit nerve wracking. Wright Choice Home Inspection was definitely the right choice! Everyone that I dealt with was friendly and professional, and answered all of my questions. I really liked that they took care of scheduling the pest inspection, which knocked an item off of my very long to-do list. It may be a little hard to tell from the picture, (y'all know my photography skills are lacking), that the report is super easy to understand. We used Jeff for a "partial" home inspection to help determine whether our house had structural damage following several months of renovation after it flooded. We used a different company (who I won't name here) for the mold remediation work. They spent many months tearing the house apart and redoing everything. Though the finished product looked AMAZING, my gut was telling me something was awry. I'm immunocompromised following months of brutal chemo and 3 recent surgeries, so relayed my concern about living in the house if ANY mold is present. They assured me that every inch of the house had been completely remediated for mold, so I moved in. On my hunch over structural concerns, we had Jeff from Wright Choice do a partial inspection. Though he didn't feel there were any structural concerns (the main reason we called him in the first place), he pointed out several areas that appeared VERY suspicious for active mold growth. He strongly recommended I get a mold aerosol test, which I did. Holy cow I'm SO glad I did!! The house failed with flying colors (that's an understatement). The black mold levels were over 30 times over the level considered toxic, and the aspergillosis levels were over 130 times above the toxic/unhealthy levels. Needless to say I'm livid with the team who did the supposed mold remediation, and we considered suing them. That's being addressed elsewhere, though for this review I'll just say that Jeff probably saved my life. Literally--that's no exaggeration. I used the sister company to Wright Choice Home Inspections, Breathe Wright, to perform the aerosol test, and they have been equally reliable and driven from a place of integrity, candor, and honesty. I've been VERY impressed with both companies and Kristie, who does the scheduling for Breathe Wright. Though I haven't personally met the owners, I understand it's a husband-wife team (husband runs the inspection side and wide runs the air testing side), and have heard so many glowing commendable things about their character and business philosophy that I would wholeheartedly recommend using either company to friends and family. We've subsequently had Breathe Wright do a follow-up mold aerosol test, and are in the process of scheduling #3 (to verify the alleged "clean" results from another company). I don't want to move back in until Breathe Wright gives the house a clean test, that's how much I've grown to trust and respect them. Very grateful to have found this company. read more

The wonderful men Lyle H, Braden, Dave and amazing lady named Lisa from Wright home inspection saved me about $25,000 by being honest with me upfront about every concern that they had. Now I will tell you I paid extra for a sewer scope, termite inspection, radon check as well as just the normal home inspection you normally think of. From the picture you would never guess that this particular property has issues. There is extensive existing and new termite damage that maybe was addressed and might still be active depending on which side of the house you're looking at. You'd have no idea that the front of the basement all the way to the right hand side of it has extensive cracking (what they call a geographic hydrostatic something or the other fancy term.) What it means in Laymans terms is that the front of the house is slowly falling in on itself because it's unbalanced and water is still getting in. You'd have no idea that you will need to replace all of the sewer lines, because they have something called Orangeburg on one side and on the other, the previous homeowners didn't have a garbage disposal so there's food blocking all of the kitchen pipe to the road ....and it needs to be cleaned out. This is why you pay for a good home inspection ...because now I can confidently walk away from that particular home. They were amazing- I'll use them again once we find the next right place! read more

I'm very, very disappointed in Wright Choice. There are some basic things they missed that ended up costing me a considerable amount of money in the end that could have been fixed if called out. For example, the hose bibs on the outside were loose, so they took pictures of that and then recommended them to me secured, BUT the inspector didn't think about turning the water on to check for leaks into MY HOUSE!? I ended up paying $600 for just that issue. All the inspector had to do is turn the water on to see that it was gushing inside the wall. Simple. Huge misses like that make Wright Choice the WRONG choice! I want my money back! read more

Significant oversights with my new home inspection from Wright Choice. Issues with electrical, dead plugs, bad GFCI, problems with faulty and missing. General construction issues with handrails not installed correctly and falling out of walls and plumbing leaking under kitchen sink. I contacted the company multiple times and got the run around, both the inspector and owners said they stood by there work but never followed they with any meaningful action. When I requested a refund I was again given the run around. Home inspections are to catch major defects and this inspector failed, resulting in expense and frustration with my new home. Unbelievable that this company would take advantage of a single mother and overlook safety issues in my new home. In my case they did not stand by their work, very disappointed. read more

Wondering if you should get a home inspection on a new build? After all, it's new and should be perfect. The answer is... YES, you definitely should get a home inspection on a new build. The Wright Choice home inspector was able to find a number of defects that needed to be addressed resulting from poor craftsmanship of the builder such as poorly installed drywall to loose fixtures to gaps or mortar in the bricks. Now to get the builder to fix those defects before closing! I called Wright Choice on a Monday morning and they were able to get the inspection done two days later.
