I have always been given an excuse as to why I cannot talk with someone, and told that someone will return my call. No one ever bothers to call me back and I get zero information. Finally, when a year has gone by since my accident, I contacted them and they set up a telephone conference for the following day. Of course when the time came, I did not hear from them. Since then, I have tried 3 more times to get at least an update as to the progress of my case but each time I get blown off. The secretary runs interference for them. This is completely unprofessional on their part. As far as I've been told by them, I don't know if anything at all has been done. This is unacceptable. I haven't been able to work since the accident and my financial state has become an emergency due to their lack of effort in doing their job. I am about to lose everything I have due my inability to pay my bills. My bill collectors don't want excuses, they want their money. My credit is now ruined too. As of today, I am firing Ivey Law Firm as my attorneys so that I can find better representation. I am also going to contact the Bar Assoc. to report their lack of ethics and effort in my case. Just maybe someone else will not suffer with their poor, non-existent representation. I believe that their firm should have to answer for their false claims. They are the WORST law firm in Texas. I know he thinks that bodes well, however, I am not sure he has opened a book to study law since then. He never took any initiative to know his client or find avenues to defend him. He told my business partner not to speak, rather than letting the judge know he was valedictorian of the Bauer School of Business or has the intellect of very few people you will ever meet in your life. Instead, Fickman gave the absolute worst closing arguments I have ever heard in my life. I would call it fumble freaked it big time. The judge was never informed RELATIVE FACTS that would determine sentencing. Nor was he informed that a fine could be afforded. Instead, Fickman said in his closing argument that his client made 12K the last year he was in business. He didnt mention the last two years where he made 6 figures, and not just barely 6. He told my business partner, who had written the most intelligent response, that reflected exactly who he is and how he thinks, where he wanted to discuss the cost associated in feeding and housing a prisoner. Fickman shut that down, telling him the courts don't care about money. LIKE WHAT?!!! I would recommend him to anyone you dislike. His expertise has aged as he has. I wouldn't let him defend my dog.
