The greens were fantastic and very fast, and the course was just beautiful. Sunset was brilliant- with a desert Mountain View. Way to many rocks and not well taken care of for the amount of play the course gets. My recommendation is they set aside a day when players can hit the bunkers with rakes to remove all the large rocks. Or maybe hit the bunkers around the greens with fresh sand.

Well, the clubhouse was nice enough and seemed clean in the areas I saw, but to me, the crowned jewel of every country club should be its golf course. This is where I was extremely disappointed. I cannot imagine being a member at this country club and having a golf course in this condition. I have seen municipal courses that don't require a tee time or greens fees in better shape! There were bare spots all over the "fairways," there was grass growing over the "sand traps," the "tee boxes" were uneven with sporadic grass. I honestly could not believe it. I am hopeful this course can be saved, because it actually could be nice. But it needs some serious love and maybe a Board that actually cares about their product. I bet membership would increase! The "who is who" in Lake Arrowhead has membership here since it is $ 50,000 per year. Yes, it is a private golf course. Sometimes they have charity events and "high end" golf competitions. The staff in the bar and the staff at the front desk are not very friendly at all. I don't drink, but I ordered a sandwich so maybe that's why. The guys cleaning the carts were really friendly both times I've been there. Unfortunately, everywhere else Customer service is not there strong point. If you go there at 4 o'clock for a quick twilight hour, you have to have the car back by five even though it's not dark yet, and they still play full price for one hour. Which is fine I agreed to it, but doesn't make much sense. The other thing that is a bit silly to me if they have two prices, a walker price, and a car rental price... however if you bring your own car, you don't pay the Walker price you pay full price because of wear and tear on the grass they said.... That is ridiculous. Overall, it's a fun place to play golf. However they need friendlier people working there.
