Stephanie the manager deserves not only an acknowledgment but everything plus more she's the face and the opening and closing of that place. This is the only place me and my partner will be attending to from now on and if you know me any better u know ur girl is honest about her opinions. Super spacious you never have to worry about being crowded with a bunch of people, they have a stage and a outside smoking area which is also like a little lounge. 100/10 come here and if you're disappointed tell me I lied. Also, can we please talk about whatever drink you ask for you get exactly that and not water down versions of it if anything, the pours are pretty heavy-handed. Lol read more

I love dive bars and this checked all the boxes. The bartender Joy was so friendly and energetic. She made my friend a special birthday shot. On Saturdays they have a DJ playing rockabilly music. I'm interested in going back to try the karaoke. read more

Severely needs new owners and managers. This place has so much potential. It's outdated on the inside and seems trashy. The type of place I wouldn't drink out of the cups here, bottles only. You can tell the people working here don't give a fuck. Any issue I have with this place could be fixed with proper business structure. read more

My bf and I were driving down hwy 18 when he spotted this little place and said hey let's stop for a drink! We live for unplanned moments like these, so we were really excited to see what they had in store. As we walked in we noticed it was more of a dive bar, his fave, we sat down and Joy quickly made us feel welcome. She got our drinks and moments later it started to get packed. I guess they were having an event for leap day. Joy was very quick, grabbing everyone's orders and still managed to keep checking on us, needless to say we had way more than just one drink lol it was a very fun night, everyone was just having a blast there was a live rock band playing, we're not rock fans but we still had a great time! Thank you Joy for all my yummy drinks! I'm a pain in the butt when it comes to drinks bc I never know what I want exactly, but I told her the taste I was going for and she whipped up some delicious drinks! Fun times! read more

The high desert was home close to 20 years ago. Came home every now and again for holiday and to visit family. It's been a while going out and am not familiar with the local pub fare. Still....feels good. A chill, neighborhood bar. Small, one bartender. Perfectly fits the speed I was feeling for the evening. One pool table, 14 high top small rounds, no dart board, 4 TV's, karaoke on Wednesday's and Thursday's, and plenty of seats at the bar top. Walking in I brought no expectations, other than cold beer. Who doesn't have that expectation when going out for a drink? On this evening, solo acoustic guitarist playing music I've never heard before, doing quite well strumming. Voice sounding like singer songwriter. Looks like an everyday Joe. Several people chatting, some clearly there for the music. With their attention on the artist. Good mix of all folks, some young, some my age....40 somethin. Everybody appreciating the music. I walk in solo and the tender comes up to me right away.....didn't really expect that but was hoping for it. How many times do you go to a corner bar and sit around several minutes before getting any kind of attention. She was friendly and let me know that drafts and sizes available. Very informative. I like that. I didn't have to ask a ton of questions to figure it out myself. I ordered my usual...biggest draft they had. 24oz FROSTY MUG!!!! 6 bucks. Reasonable for it being frosty. Not real loud on the in between songs. They were doing a raffle. I missed the ticket purchase or what ever it was to play. But that's ok. I was just wanting a cold beer and chill. They were giving away candy bars!! 4 Crunch bars to one lucky winner. How cool is that?? And even better, the winner shared them with his friends. Very cool. Another singer up. Must be open mic night. I'd say that's a BONUS! Lady with a ukulele. A little boss, "I'm on fire". On the ukulele? Very well done. BRAVO!!! Over all....two thumbs up. read more

I feel very ripped off from this bar. Joy my bartender over charged me for 4 drinks. (I heard that she is one of the owners) My first drink was $4 cranberry vodka. I thought great. I think, I like this place. I gave her my ATM card to hold a tab for me. But by the end of the night when I got my bill for 4 drinks at a total of $40.00. I was shocked and bummed that I felt extremely jipped. Then, I investigated the bill from her receipt that she gave me top shelf vodka (Stoli's) without asking me, if I wanted top shelf vodka. Ah..... Ask me before you pour my drink. I like that brand. But I prefer a Sky & Chopin vodka. On to the food. I was hungry and I ordered a pizza. Joy burnt it and proceeded to served MY order to another woman first before getting into my hands. Ah...I ordered the pizza! I put my name up for pool. It was erased twice! Ugh! The most EXPENSIVE hole in the wall I've EVER been too. Thanks Joy for killing my first experience at your bar! This bar is NOT worth me spending my hard earned money at!!!! In my opinion. read more

This is a no-nonsense local bar. Filled with colorful characters, many of them Vets with great stories and big personalities. Bar tenders are friendly and know how to pour a stiff drink. Lots of laughs here. read more

I've been coming here for over 10 years now. Joy and Sue are such great owners. They go out of their way to make sure everyone is happy. They have bands or karaoke just about every weekend. Even karaoke every Wednesday. Sunday ticket to watch all the football games which is nice. Love this place! read more

I agree with Adam S., once you start talking about how great this establishment is, you cant stop. There are so many great aspects to Frogee's. I had the pleasure to spend a couple of hours Friday night at Frogee's Cocktail lounge listening to some great rock and roll and surrounded by wonderful people. "The Coven" was in our dimension that night at Frogee's. "The Coven" put together a phenomenal David Bowie tribute "Dance, Magic Dance". They were able to infuse Bowie's absolute best with an eclectic range of music, everything from New Wave to Metal. I was expecting to hear "Thick as a Brick" break in once during one of the sets. There were people literally dancing non-stop from the time I got there that night to the time I had to leave, who needs the gym when you hang with (or in) The Coven. I cannot wait until The Coven's "Prom Night" in February. They built up the anticipation by setting the date near Valentine's Day and adding a photo from Stephen King's "Carrie" right before the killer scene. And we all know how it ended for Carrie and St. Valentine. I will not be missing this. Met these really cool people at Frogee's; turns out they were the owners! (First owners that didn't give me the "I own this place and I'll kick you out if you start any trouble" before i did anything...not that I was going to do anything anyway, okay) Really nice people. The Patrons that I had the pleasure to share part of my night with were the best I have seen. We were all walks of this great earth and yet all the same, Not one person bat an eye either when a suit walked in or a Punk. It feels really good to relax in what i would call a rock and roll establishment. Frogee's is one of the coolest bars I have ever been in. Thank you all for the great time. P.S. Frogee's is a lovely little bar situated off Highway 18 in Apple Valley, across the street from the local post office. The atmosphere at Frogee's is simple and friendly - low light, comfortable seats, plenty of table space. Drinks are well into the affordable range for all types, and the staff are friendly as heck. Joy is a delightful bartender, in particular. She gets to know her customers, shares advice and insight when asked for her input, and knows how to make suggestions for a good drink. I tend not to like liquor served neat, because it bites too hard. She introduced me to Fireball whiskey, and I'm in love with it. It takes an understanding of your craft and products to make recommendations like she does. The only downside is a bit of a limit on parking space - there's a small lot out back, and an empty dirt field next door. read more
