Certainly in Chicago there's lots of historic buildings. In the shopping crazy Magnificent Mile is one that stands apart from all the other retail. The Wrigley Building is located across from the Tribune Tower. For years it was the headquarters of the gum company. While it no longer is, there's still use being made of it with a few stores. A beautiful white facade is covered in terra cotta. It has two towers that were built between 1920 and 1924 to be the gum company's headquarters. This was the first major office building north of the Chicago River. Later walkways were added between the towers so workers could have easier access. There's a clock with faces in all directions. It was also the first air conditioned office building in the city. There's a plaza between the towers. Even though the gum company is no longer here, there's still businesses located in the buildings. It's got a few that are open to the public. There's a Walgreens.

At 398 feet tall, it is located on the Magnificent Mile directly across Michigan Avenue from the Tribune Tower. Its two towers in an elaborate style were built between 1920 and 1924 It is so recognizable; that it hardly needs an introduction. A luminous white beacon known the world over as a beloved symbol of Chicago's preeminence in architecture and commerce. The land was selected by chewing gum magnate William Wrigley Jr. for the headquarters of his company. It was Chicago's first air-conditioned office building. If one walks through the center doors, one will enter a secluded park area overlooking the Chicago River. The Wrigley Building was sold in 2011 to a group of investors (Zeller Realty Group and Groupon co-founders). The new owners made the building more attractive to businesses by adding Walgreens, a coffee shop, and more. I like this quote about the Wrigley Building- "It looks like the city was built just to provide the Wrigley Building with a backdrop.

The land in which the Wrigley Building is on was selected by William Wrigley Jr., the founder of the Wrigley Company for all your chewing gum needs. It's located on the north side of downtown just above the Chicago River. The building consists of two towers of differing heights connected by a bridge. One of the towers has the famous clock that spans all four directions. Occasionally you'll see some street performers performing right in front of the building. It's a short distance from downtown Chicago so if you're in the area this building might be worth a quick visit.

Not the tallest building in the city but one of the most striking. The details of this Spanish colonial revival are worth spending some time admiring. Positioned on the prominent intersection where Michigan Avenue cross the Chicago river, if looks like a bright beacon in contrast to the towering canyon of building surrounding it. My favorite approach is to walk up through the back from Rush street between the two towers. It just surrounds you with the bridges overhead, and walking out to Michigan Avenue just has a bit of architectural grandure 360°. Tribune tower, NBC, London house, etc. givens me the big city feels especially at night with the spectrum of lights. Great area to have a night out too.

This is my FAVORITE Architectural building in the city of Chicago. Allow me to share with you on why this is just a stunning beauty. First of all the details of the design and the gold sequence around the framed windows are so pretty and timeless. The location is perfect, The Wrigley Building is a Chicago original - one of the few business locations in the world that needs no other address. This building was the FIRST building with Air Conditioning! I know right! Commanding the gateway between Michigan Avenue, the Loop and River North, The Wrigley Building offers the best of both worlds. The shops, restaurants, hotels and attractions of the renowned Magnificent Mile are right outside the door. And just steps away, the government, legal, high tech, financial and business centers of this world-class city await. From what I read, the land was selected by chewing gum magnate William Wrigley Jr. for the headquarters of his company. The building was designed by the architectural firm of Graham, Anderson, Probst & White using the shape of the Giralda tower of Seville's Cathedral combined with French Renaissance details. Between the two (Un-identical towers) are what in my opinion, the best outdoor patios in the city. They have beautiful plants around the fence and umbrellas. Inside you will find a Flagship Walgreens with two story floors of great products. Also Peet's Coffee is there, Ghirardelli Chocolate Company and Ice Cream Shop (with also two story floors and amazing views of the Chicago river). Such a beautiful place that it honestly reminds me of Rome or Italy, even the Mexican Europe "SAN Miguel De Allende". Lots of beautiful wedding pics are taken at this court yard because of the breath taking views this building offers and stunning backdrops it provides for photos.

Beautiful building! Too bad I never went inside. It may not be the tallest building in downtown Chicago, but it is one of the most impressive! In a city that has many architectural beauties, the Wrigley Building truly stands out! Historic and beautiful sums it up in my opinion!

The famous stretch of the Magnificent Mile on North Michigan Avenue begins at the intersection of Michigan and Wacker, thanks to notable buildings like the Wrigley Building and the Tribune Tower. It is not officially a landmark, but everyone knows about the Wrigley Building and its clock tower, even though the clock faces themselves are either missing or not necessarily accurate. The two trapezoidal towers are linked at the base and also by a skybridge.

Remarkably, I've lived here most of my life and maybe only gone into the Wrigley building once. I have however, admired its architecture from the outside and from that vantage point alone, I highly recommend you do the same. Outside the building you'll likely find something interesting to look at on the south side of the building, in the open pavilion. Or you can admire the several other buildings and stone sculptures in the area. A lot of architectural greatness in this area!

What an amazing looking building, an architectual gem in the city. One of the buildings that have made our great city famous. Yes, they are the same family(company) that owns the chewing gum that we all love and grew up with.

A Chicago landmark - named after GUM - from the Wrigley Spearmint gum to the Hubba Bubba to Juicy Fruit and Orbit; the architectural shape is simply amazing with some Italian and French influence, as well.

The Wrigley Building is an iconic structure that looks and feels like the period in time that it was constructed.

We purchased city pass tickets since we were visiting for a couple of days and chose the sky deck as one of our activities. They recommend making a reservation through the app so you can book the time you'd like to visit. Once we were in we went through the experience where we got to see exhibits and take fun pictures throughout. From there we took the elevator to the 103 floor to see the sky deck. The views of the city are super beautiful and of course we have to get our fun photos from the ledge!

While a 90-second time limit makes sense on a packed day, on a slow day with only 10-20 people in line and 4 decks available, they should easily extend it. Instead, they cram multiple groups into one deck--forcing our party of four adults to share tight space with two strangers--and strictly require everyone to enter simultaneously. By the time you get settled and overcome any nerves, your 90 seconds are already up. We would have rated our experience much higher, but an employee soured the end of our visit. When we politely asked him to take a photo, he rudely and repeatedly barked that he would only do so if we left immediately afterward, even though we had timed our visit and were barely over the limit. Great attraction, but better customer service and flexibility are desperately needed.
