Basically watches that were meant to look good rather than be of any real good. Kenneth Cole was one of the few brands that this store had that caught my eye. I like Kenneth Cole for his clothes and shoes, when I look at the watches he's designed I have to say that they look good, but that doesn't mean that they are. While boutiques from the likes of Jaeger LeCoultre, Rolex, Panerai and even Patek Philippe can now be found here, Lucerne is still the only retailer that carries A. Lange & Sohne (as well as the aforementioned). It's the only place in the country to see the German manufacture's masterpieces like the Datograph Up/Down or Zeitwerk. While you'd expect a store selling watches in the 6 to 7 digit range to be snooty and arrogant, their staff are friendly and accommodating, always willing to show you what you want as long as you look like you know what you're doing. They've whole racks of straps there which won't necessarily empty your wallet, and good different kinds at that. I've always felt like the straps I've seen at the bigger, more expensive places (whichever those are) look too cumbersome for my taste. Are they genuine leather? Ask them that. Really all I care about is that it looks nice on my tiny wrists. They sell and repair various watches and clocks too, of course. While I have a preference to avoid bling with a humble leather watch, I'm quite taken with and I just might by this rose gold Casio number they have on display. There's always a booth that sells cheap, discounted watches by the hallway too, so if you're itching for some cheap timekeeper to up your wardrobe, drop by and have a look.
