Evan Closky is the worst sports caster, an example is tonights sports (6pm news, 11/21/23), he does this big buildup of a great pass from Nikita Kucherov to Steven Stamkos, and then stand in front of it so you can't even see it. A friend recommended I post this after we discussed why we stopped watching WTSP's Channel 10 I've been a loyal fan for many years, until the format was changed, and the previous staff was apparently edged out. The new evening team is a BIG disappointment. They all seem like novices, or adolescents, trying too hard to be grown up having little or no professional anchor experience than is obvious or apparent. No longer do I watch any of it, preferring to tune in either Channel 8 or 28 because their news teams are more professional, mature, and better focused on the news being broadcast. The recent advertisements with the new staff and the slogan they use saying, "Watch Me" seems so childish. Other people I've talked to agree. Saying the Night Side is "conversational" is silly. I like your news and the staff you have with the exception of Ryan Bass. His demeaning comments to his co-sports reporter calling him short and other derogatory comments is bias and derogatory and hurts other viewers. The man is arrogant and since he has moved to actually doing regular news stories I have moved to watching ABC action news. read more

Who is the "so called" genius that changed the format on the early morning news. Ashley Batey was professional and a bright spot in my waking day. Why change news anchors? The last thing I want in the morning is young girls reading news to me off of their ipod or Fire. Previously, the news was quick, precise and to the point. The traffic lady is still there with her intensity and cute demure. I know she must miss the old gang she worked with for years. As I have always said, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Your viewership numbers must be dropping and the above reasons are why. If you are trying to reach a younger demographic in the early AM, you are way off. They barely get up by 8AM. Why don't they do the news live from Starbucks that way these former cheerleaders would feel more at home. My wife used to watch the 11 o clock on 10 news until the lottery numbers, now the numbers are on ABC and I can watch the news I prefer. Most people respect seniority in journalism not people who can't remember the world before the last election. Channel 10 starting with the news is an insult to audiences intelligence. Since the previous review is fashion oriented let me throw in my two cents. At least in the case of weather lady Ashley Batey she is almost always dressed fashionably. It's the perfect storm when you have a terribly attractive woman like her donning Fifth Avenue-worthy attire. This place is fantastic. I was there to film an episode for Studio Ten and was blown away by the friendliness and professionalism of everyone. It was a little nervous since it was my first time there and the receptionist made me feel at home. She helped me feel more relaxed and was very genuine. The rest of the staff was just as great and I had a complete blast. I hope to go on again sometime. :) read more

I quit watching after they fired Marty Matthews. I am a fan of their two main anchors, Reginald "Reggie" Roundtree and Heather Van Nest, but their main weather lady Tammy Souza does not hold a candle to any of the other local weather forecasters. I used to watch their morning news program too until they got rid of Meredyth Censullo [and later John McQuiston] and hired Ken Doll Keith Jones. I still occasionally watch them when Souza is off (which seems to be a lot now that I think about it) because the rest of their evening anchor team are quality people. read more

Very disappointing to see the change in news formats. I decided to watch it for the first month-but really have little tolerance for the new format and anchors. From what I have read from various sites they decided to update the format to reach younger viewers and increase their audience. In doing so they have let go of several of the "older" anchors and hired younger associates and are going for a more "casual" dress look. I miss the old morning show crew of Ginger, Keith and Bobby Deskins. Unfortunately I am no longer watching any local CBS news programs and know watch local NBC until the national CBS news at 7am. Given other website reviews and comments on their FB page no wonder they are on the bottom of viewer ratings. read more

Seems the only way to get rid of someone at Channel 10 is to imagine the best way to do it, not only by trying to ruin a reputation, or by any other underhanded method they can dream up. No wonder they are losing a great deal of their viewing audience. I'm out as are many of my associates. If I worked there it would be a constant worry...am I next? Have switched to another news station for evening news. Format is terrible, impossible to focus with all the desks and talking heads. Looks more like a fashion show, staff have not earned any credibility with us and don't look comfortable. Go back to the old format. maybe then we'll tune in again. A real shame... we have been CBS news fans for over 30 years. read more

I have noticed in the last month or so the wardrobe of the news casters has taken a turn for the worst. It would appear that someone at the station has called for uniformity and has commissioned someone to try their hand as fashion advisor. News flash, they are not successful. The attire is horrid and cheap looking. I feel for those that have to wear these clothes. The men don't seem to be left out of this travesty either. What is going on at the station? Maybe Holly Sinn left because she refused to wear the dollar tree dresses. read more
