Jill is f'n amazing. I started seeing her on and off since April 2015 (although I swear it was much longer than that). One thing that I can say that makes Jill stand out from other therapists that I've seen (I was forced to see other therapists due to insurance), is that she calls me out on my BS. My biggest obstacle in life is myself. When I start venting, I fly off the hinges, she lets me get it out of my system and validates my feelings and then brings me back to earth with a plan of action. I am so thankful that I found Jill! I have been seeing her since last October 2018 and she's been a godsend. I have been seeing Jill since August 2021 and I can't say enough good things about her. I first came to her with extreme anxiety, depression, and just overall wanted tools to figure out how to be a happier and healthier person. While I am still working through some of my issues, I have seen a huge change and improvement in myself. This is the healthiest I've been in my life, and I owe it to Jill's expertise, guidance, and support. I guess the best way to put it is that she has helped me, well, become me, which I think is what we all want out of life. I've been attending sessions with her for the last four months through what has been probably the most challenging chapter of my life, and I can see the changes on a daily basis. Each week she gives me articles and homework assignments to prompt discussion and growth for each week. Nice try to clean up but the simple fact is you have control and visibilty of your appointments I do not. As a professional it was your duty to understand what your capable of handling in a day and should not imply I pressured you into the appointment. Here is the simple fact, if we had cancelled on you shortly before our appointment as you did us you would have charged us as clearly stated in your contract. We did not have that option to charge you nor did you offer any credit for your mistake. I would have had the upmost respect for you if you simply respected my time as you do your own. You simply made no effort to make it right and I don't consider offering my son an appointment during his school hours doing the right thing. A while back when i was in search for a therapist for my son I called Jill. My son was right there with me when I called and her attitude was terrible. All her responses were very condescending and it was as if she was annoyed with anything i asked. My son was gesturing to me to just hang up on her as he picked up on her bad attitude as well. I was appalled that this was coming from someone who is in the business of helping people. Needless to say i told her never mind and hung up on her, she tried calling back and apologizing but no thank you. I don't know if I caught her on a bad day or what but regardless, first impression is everything, and it was a very bad impression I got. I am beyond grateful that I found Jill. In my life, I have never spoken with nor felt the need to speak with a therapist or counselor. However, at the beginning of the year a very complex situation unfolded in my life that I felt extremely lost, insecure, and conflicted inside about. I worried that because I was speaking to a professional counselor that my situation would not be understood. I worried that I wouldn't be able to reliably connect to whoever I spoke with so that I could truly appreciate any feedback or guidance I would be given. I worried I would be judged. I worried that the counseling would be "cookie cutter" basic advice I could easily look up online. Jill is very down to earth and genuine. She is a great listener and very empathetic. I find it extremely easy to talk to her. I feel like she genuinely cares about people. I feel she cares about me. I can honestly say that I would not have been able to mentally get through this year without her. Outside of my personal situation that unfolded we have dove deeper on so many subjects in my life and I find her helping me overcome/thrive through it all. I like that Jill doesn't feel like a basic conventional therapist/counselor. I feel like we can discuss outside the box subjects that I feel some other therapists might not want to dive into. Initially, I used to be concerned about Jill's timeliness on some meetings but honestly after my personal sessions I learned its because if she feels she has scratched the surface on something deep or meaningful she will spend the extra time with her client to ensure that the magnitude of that moment is not lost. I have to say going to see Jill has helped me through a very difficult time in my life. I had gotten to the point where I felt like everything was crashing down around me and I had no clue how to get past the emotional roller coaster. My wife and I were two people who love each other deeply, but could not have been more different from each other. As I reflect on our lives, I must say I owe a large part of finally being more sympathetic, patience, understanding, and the one thing I know we all lack, communicating (not perfect but still working on it) when I encountered Jill Wu. I met her when my wife dragged me in to see her. I only went along to state my case and thought I would be told that I was completely wrong and the cause of our martial unhappiness. Instead I found an insightful masterful relationship counselor who was sensitive to my earnest, though awkward and miss communicated efforts to strengthen our family. Jill's calming voice taught how to better communicate, showed us that we're the same exact person with the same exact fears and needs. As of now our relationship is still a work in progress and we learn as we go and grow together as a couple. Without Jill, I know our marriage will still work but without Jill, I know for a fact that our marriage will be toxic due to keeping everything inside and running away from the problem rather than facing it. With her help we were learning (and still learning) how to build a truly loving, trusting, intimate and fun relationship. As a result, I believe our we're better than we once we're, less fights and more goals. There are a lot of words I could use to describe Jill, but a few that come to mind are kind, understanding and helpful. I found Jill through a friend and I am so glad I did! Being in therapy with her has been like talking to a friend who does nothing but give you good advice and guidance. Have to be completely honest...I've been to a few therapists to deal with past relationships and life experiences only to listen to the therapist talk about their own lives and then charge me in the end.
