This place has everything: flannel shirts that whisper "I chop wood recreationally", boots tougher than your ex, and a taxidermy collection that's probably more extensive than the Smithsonian's. The staff? Super helpful. They knew exactly which rod I needed for "panfish, but like, aggressive ones." Chances are they're going to have what you're looking for, and more than likely in stock. There are other outdoor lifestyle chains out there, but none that measure up to the outdoor/wilderness environment that Cabela's has. From its rustic, natural(ish) décor to the outdoor displays to wildlife exhibits, you really do get that "I feel like I'm out in the woods" vibe. While I've always been a fan of Cabela's, this summer we found that they carry my absolute favorite line of bird seed. I'm a birder and feed 6 to 8 different types of feed in my back year nearly year round, and the fact that they have my favorite brand (Harvest brand bird feeds), but A) in multiple varieties and 2) IN STOCK immediately made this my go-to place when I need bird seed. We used to have to visit 3 or more retail outlets to find what I needed, but not any more. The staff has been mostly cool when we've visited. One time we had a cashier named John (as I recall) who didn't care that we were there or not...we were obviously interrupting whatever he was doing on his phone. Everyone else we've encountered has been awesome.

That said, I am an FFL holder and have done business with the wholesale side of this business and all transactions have been pleasant. My sales rep keeps constant contact with me whether I'm buying or not. No other vendor out there has treated me this way, as I am a small volume dealer compared to many others out there. Most vendors and their reps give all their attention to big dealers as it yields them the most compensation due to commission. The location is convenient, within an industrial park, easy access. I especially like the convenience of Orion as one of my wholesalers because I can pick my order up without paying shipping and that allows me to pass savings onto my customers! Overall friendly, knowledgeable staff that is eager to help and will cater to everyone, five stars! Keep up the good work guys/gals!
