They don't know how to use the app there. My meeting was canceled but I did not receive any email or anything saying that the meeting was canceled! The only was a note on the door! I am truly disappointed by the lack of communication at this location. read more

I started Weight Watchers in Feb 2010 and really loved the point system! I lost alot of weight and will continue to go for a long time! Let me start off and say my leader is Gloria and she is great! The problem is the staff up front at the register! I really spend a fortune on their food and other tools to keep weight off! I have asked Dana up front for help on many things and I always get treated with I am not helping you with anything? Why do u work there if you don't care about the customers?? I am sure alot of people would take your job in a heart beat!! She is too bust talking to her friends! I have had it with her and going to make a complaint to weight watchers corporate!! I know for a fact she helped my husband with the new program and when I asked her to fix the paper work the staff made a mistake with she walked away from me!! So if you decide to join WW beware of the No help up front!!! read more

Leaders here are pretty good at running meetings; being personal yet personable. And in turn members who attend here are not as lame (at least the ones I've experienced) as the ones in Plainview and Levittown. They discuss things other than food and don't obsess over small irrelevant things. One thing that seems to be a problem with this particular meeting (Sun. 11 a.m.) is that there seems to be no urgency to start on time. Both last week and this, what is supposed to be a 45-minute meeting does not begin as advertised, but rather 15 minutes late. Hopefully, this will not discourage members from coming and participating. I must also vent (it's all you hear at meetings everywhere this month) about the fact that costs are being cut: paper towels are being withheld from those who used them freely for decades; and now stickers are not being printed for the weight loss journals. Come on folks...at $40+ per month, you should know that these stickers are part of the most important rituals for members weekly. I'm sure management will hide behind some excuse about environment, but that's ridiculous. Sorry to rant, but I'm on a positive journey to good health and I don't need the negativity. If you want to cut costs like this, then offer some discounts or lower prices once or twice for long term, loyal customers. read more

I love Gloria who leads the Monday morning meetings. She has been here for years and she is funny and delightful! Like anything else in life Weight Watchers works when you pay attention and do what they say. It is the healthiest program and offers a lot of tools to help with changing your thinking and manage your lifestyle. I love the new app that will allow you to calculate what your eating and it tracks your daily points. This location is conveniently located in a shopping center with ample parking and the place is clean and bright! read more

My regular night is Thursday in Deer Park, on occasion I like to take in other meetings. So on & off for a number of months I've been attending Wednesday night 7PM in Wantagh - The Leader Elyse, is very personable & outgoing. She greets every member with a smile and immediately asks "How was your week?" The guides also make you feel very comfortable. What I've enjoyed about the WW Journey, is connecting with not only the leaders & guides, but other members. Number one, you must go in with a clear mindset. Be positive, and not focus on the possible negatives. If you don't connect with the employees of a particular meeting, attend others. It's easy to complain because you're not seeing results. Remember this; the employees of WW are Leaders & Guides, not Doctors & Nutritionists. Talk with them as you would a teacher in school if you need assistance. Bounce ideas off your fellow WW members. So we all have our reasons for ending up at a Weight Watchers. Here is mine, I'm 6'1" and ended up at 203 pounds - which is the biggest I've ever been. I do not consider myself fat, but I know that I'm at my best at 180. I don't look in the mirror and cringe, but I do want to get rid of 20 pounds. One of my friends had joined years ago, and they mentioned how they would weigh in weekly. So it's this aspect of having to be accountable to a third party weekly, that I feel would help me right now in getting back to 180 - which I prior to 2015 I had been for over 15 years. This wasn't a decision I made overnight, I had been hap-hazardly trying to lose this weight for a few months, but it wasn't working. I felt this "weigh-in" would be something that would help. I went to this location yesterday to sign-up and figured I would attend the 3:30 meeting. The woman who signed me up was really sweet, great personality, informative and supportive - she was not the same woman about to lead the class. So about halfway in, the class leader points to a poster that says something to the affect to "shoot to be awesome, not average". Sounds good, but then don't go on to tell us that if we are one of those people that just "weighs in", that we are average. We all have an issue that we want to correct, and I give all of these people at the meeting credit for putting themselves out there like this - do not refer to anyone in class as average. Forget about the fact some of us just spent $114 to join for this quarter, it's just an uneducated and mean-spirited thing to do. Some of us may need to look in a "points book" to tell us that something may make us fat. Whatever works, I don't fault those that do (they in turn could fault me for needing this "weigh in" to keep me honest). We all have a battle that we decided to fight, and we chose the best way for us. I had six slices of pizza a few nights ago, washed down with some soda - I know how I got here. Healthy eating to me is certainly not looking at only the nutrition facts and coming to a total "point" amount based on the totals of saturated fats, sugar, carbs and protein. Next time you pick up a Weight Watchers brand or sponsored food, check out the ingredients after you check the nutrition facts, here is some of what you may see: corn syrup solids, high fructose corn syrup, yeast extract, modified cellulose, invert sugar, parabens, yellow 5 - the list goes on, and can top 100 on certain boxes. Look at it this way, how many of you cook? I do often, and I enjoy it. In my 20+ years of cooking I've never made a single item that had 50 ingredients, let alone 100. Have you? I came close with a Mole once. I want my body to ingest fresh food, not ingredients that I have to look up. Fresh food, not highly processed food that with ingredients made to pro-long shelf life. And I didn't see anything organic or non-GMO - and I didn't expect to. One more tid-bit, they recently changed their point system, and it varies greatly from what it was. Some of the people in the class were confused about this and asked some very good questions, the attitude this class leader gave back in her answers was incredibly unacceptable. Rude and completely dismissive in both tone and comment. Forget about her lack of understanding in basic nutrition, she was lacking in compassion as a human. I hope the people in this class realize they are better than this. And although it's rare you'll find a better advocate for his customers/clientele than Richard Simmons, I don't know that he is the best fitness option in 2016. We all came here to lose weight, but I'm not going to do it at the expense of my health, I knew that going in. I just didn't expect to placed into the average bucket because of it. I'll be back to "weigh in" in a week, because that was a very thought out personal decision that I made to help me lose weight and get healthier - isn't that what this is all about? read more

The Wednesday 5pm meeting is my favorite! She is funny and motivational. She helps me think differently. I walk more than ever and have been losing each week! I'm so proud of myself! The ladies at the counter are always supportive and cheer me on. I am happy I go to a weight watchers where the staff is amazing and I've built a personal relationship with. read more

I signed up for the monthly pass program that they were offering at my local weight watchers. I had been on a few months and was doing ok. In March or April my wallet was stolen and all my credit cards etc were stolen as well. So as a result of this Weight Watchers was unable to bill me so I had to update my information it seems if I had do this several times before it finally wen through in their system. I had to go back and fourth with them for several days. That was the first of my problems four or five months later I decided to cancel Weight Watchers since I was no longer. I was able to cancel and I canceled well before yet they still billed me. When I requested that they refund me they said they would not do so until I mailed the plastic card back to them. It took them over a week to send me the card. I then mailed it back right but they still as of the date that this was written have not given me my refund. Because of these two things I will never again use or attend Weight Watchers or give them any of my money. It makes no sense to have someone mail back a stupid piece of plastic that is mass printed and that can be obtained on the Internet as well and cannot be used again. I think they do this as a way to dodge given people refunds. read more
