I had a chance to stop in while visiting the courthouse and had the most delicious cortado I've had in a long time. The house blend was chocolate and warm and everything that good espresso should be. Overall the drink was a pleasure to drink and while walking around made a great companion. Great spot right in the heart of downtown! I loved the seasonal cappucino I got here--very flavorful spiced orange and the espresso was on point. I also got the drip here and it was decent. They brewed a fresh pot for us and served it up in huge diner mugs which was very nice. We sat down for about an hour and were able to chill very easily as the small shop had ample seating for our three-person group. This would be a place I'd come on my own to camp out with some coffee and a good book. The atmosphere is very chilled out and modern, and the place is very clean. Best coffee in Gainesville for sure. They roast their own beans and have a rotating sweet and savory food items. Love the look and feel inside and the staff I have interacted with have always been friendly and helpful. If you have yet to visit this pot make sure to add it to your list of top spots. Quality beans and for a cold brew fan like me I have the option of both nitro and regular cold brew on their single origin beans. I have been to Wyatt's a few times. I have always enjoyed the staff and the owner is typically there and he is great. I love the Japanese Nitro Cold Brew with Vanilla Flavoring and Cream. They have a great location downtown, parking is sometimes an issue but it's worth it. If you haven't stopped in, do yourself a favor and do so. read more

This place was really cool! I love the feel of the space, it is minimalist, industrial and little bit boho. They have cleek designs that are clean and modest, with little bits of plants peeking out. The service I recieved was wonderful, the girl at the counter wsa extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They have quite a variety of coffee blends - it is a great place for people who like to try different things! I really loved the nitro blend that they carry, it was robust and had great flavor! They also carry Baker Baker products which are delicious! The space is a little small, but they are located within an indoor plaza and there is ample seating just outside. They have WIFI and it carries into the plaza. I will defintely be adding this to my weekly study spot rotation! read more

Several things going for this new coffee shop--great location near campus, beautiful albeit small interior, obvious quality and care in their products--but also several things working against it. For one, the shop is so small it basically is a coffee-to-go shop, not a place to easily sit and study although the building has an open atrium adjoining Wyatt's where you could in theory sit, though it tends to be a bit loud. Also, while coffee is the main event, they also have an emphasis on fine chocolate bars which is nice but the prices, even for outstanding chocolate, seem high for our market--not many students will wander in for coffee and buy a chocolate bar of virgin chocolate with nibs, Bourbon, and maple or whatever esoteric flavors for $9.90. Then there is their tea selection: they can make hot teas, but I'm unsure if they can make ice tea--I guess they can, but it seems having some ice tea made up and ready to go would not be expensive for them and probably pay off easily in sales. If they do this, it's not listed on their menu. All in all, Wyatt's is fine, and I'm glad there is something other than Starbucks this close to campus but they may find it a hard market given their lack of sit-down space and steep prices on some things like the chocolate. Years ago, circa 2009, there was a small (but larger than Wyatt's by far) coffeeshop run by Opus over in the plaza where Sushi Chao is and it didn't last long. It's really hard to compete with two Starbucks right inside the UF libraries plus the one over at Reitz. And at least the Opus shop had a comfy coach and people could hang out. read more

When I moved to Gainesville, I never thought I would find my favorite coffeeshop here. The first time I visited Wyatt's, I stopped by on a whim after seeing a show at the Hippodrome nearby. The iced honey latte blew me away! It was just so perfectly balanced with the sweetness of the honey and milk, and the richness of the coffee. Since then I've been back many times. It's my favorite place to study in Gainesville. The space is filled with natural light, bright woods, and periwinkle blue tones making it an extremely serene and relaxing place to get work done. Seating is usually scarce, and outlets are a hot commodity. But I'm always usually able to find a cozy table to get some work done. The staff is always super friendly and it seems they really care about making great coffee. I love their punch card system and their name of the day chalkboard. Honey lattes are still usually my go-to, but I've had the pleasure of having their other espresso drinks and teas which are all fabulous as well. I'm interested in trying out some of their specialty drinks--the turmeric latte looks delicious! I think my only criticism of this place would be that it is a little pricey, but the quality makes up for the price. It's only marginally more expensive than Starbucks and much better. I love discovering new coffee shops and this is one I know I'll keep returning to when I come to the area for work. I loved the atmosphere. It was interesting and the perfect place to study/work. I got a single origin cold brew which was really great. I stayed a while to work, there was free WiFi, and got lots done. The lady asked if I wanted a punch card but I said no bc I'm only in town about once a month and didn't think I would come back to this place often, but I think I'll have to stop each times! Brief stop in Gainsville resulted in visiting Wyatt's! The Coffee Mayday Affogato made vanilla ice Cream with espresso was spot on. Venti Vanilla Latte was definitely driven by the great coffee.There are great pastries available. The Guava Croissant was to die for. Loved the cool ambiance vibe . Went to Wyatt's for the first time the other night. I got their cold brew with almond milk and it was pretty good! I'm not a huge coffee drinker and can't really tell the difference but this iced coffee was very refreshing. Their space is smaller and all the tables were filled with people studying or hanging out. This would be the ideal place to hang out with friends studying or catching up. Honestly, I wish I lived in Gainesville because Wyatt's is a GREAT coffee shop and I wish I could stop here everyday on my way to work. I think it might be my most favorite coffee shop ever! I looked forward to the second opening of Wyatts in Gainesville for a while. I kept going downtown in hopes that the second location would be open soon. And I must say, I was not disappointed. Beyond the fact this place reminds me of a hipster place that gentrified an entire city, Wyatts is a good study location that serves a large variety if drinks (I love that they have yerba mate). The tables are put in a vertical way so that they can fit more guests but because of that, it feels far more crowded. I dread getting up and bumping into 10 people before I get to the bathroom. There is absolutely no way to get an open seat at the tables if you get there later than 11am. Coffee is good. Muffins are great. Especially, the pistachio and blue berry muffins. read more

The staff there are very friendly and helpful with any questions you have about their menu. The free WiFi and relaxing music also created a chill study environment. The only downside was the small, slightly crammed space making it difficult to really spread out if you're trying to study. I asked about a million questions before deciding what to order and the staff was very patient. I ended up ordering an iced latte with a shot of vanilla and the a Japanese nitro cold brew. The latte was delicious!! The prefect amount of sweetness for me. The Japanese cold brew was a bit too strong for me but I am glad I tried it. The seating in this shop is the perfect study spot but seats are limited due to the space. I recommend getting there early if you want to scope out the perfect spot. read more

Coffee is very good but service mediocre. The shop was not busy. We ordered a croissant and asked for it to be sliced to share. The barista asked if she could put it on a bag as they didn't have clean plates. I asked if she could wash a plate rather than toss more paper in the garbage. I definitely agree with other reviewers about the quality of the coffee and the price. The baristas know what they're doing and $2.50 for a good cappuccino? Seems like a steal to me! I've found the service a bit maddening though, which is why it's only a three star review. I really like getting my coffee in ceramic cups if I'm staying to work and most coffee shops I've been to will do just that if you ask or tell them it's for here... not Wyatt's. It doesn't seem to matter if I spell it out, I get my coffee in a to go cup. The staff is nice-ish but seem a bit condescending. I haven't given up yet, and will update my review if I figure out what the magic words are since the coffee itself is quite delicious (their pastries, however, are atrocious, though I say this as someone who bakes for a living and is very particular). I would say the other downside is the size, it can be tricky to get a table if you want to work, but that's fairly standard with small cafes. I have found the vibe a bit arrogant-preppy, now if only Cym's ramshackle interior and cheery staff and Wyatt's superior coffee could spawn a lovechild, I'd be quite content. Oh, and better pastries... Though I guess as a silver lining, at least I'm not tempted to buy them! read more

Very knowledgeable and friendly (NOT rude or snobby like some other coffee establishment employees in Gainesville) staff. Unique selection process; you pick a coffee bean grower/producer, and choose from the different options based off descriptions of the bean aroma and body. The employees are very helpful if you're looking for something specific. I went in during exam weeks and asked for their strongest brew, and they made a single cup of the strongest coffee I've ever had. It was amazing. I tend to get the nitro cold brew latte. Which is like liquid crack. But if you go in later in the day there's a chance they will have run out. So GO EARLY and go often!!! read more
