I found Cibolo Family Medicine and thought that a concierge service would be out of my price range. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the monthly charge for their practice was comparable to one massage! I was a bit skeptical of this model of medicine but went for my initial visit, which is an intro visit, at no charge, and wow I was INCREDIBLY impressed by Dr Karos Muñoz!! She gave me her full attention, and was not rushed in any way. She said that her number is provided and should I get sick on a weekend or evening all I had to do was call her. I signed up and went back for my physical the following week. They draw your labs, in-office, and have contracted rates on many services such as radiology and labs. I recently had a situation where I was sick, after-hours, and required an ED visit. Dr Muñoz was available to answer my questions and guide my care which was so very comforting to me. While I do have insurance, and an in-network primary care MD, I will absolutely keep seeing Dr Muñoz, as I trust her, I love the individualized care she provides, and the ability to reach out after-hours or on weekend if there is an emergency is priceless to me. The office is clean and the ancillary staff is very professional and responsive. Once I accidentally called the office and hung up, but office staff called back saying they had a missed call from me and wanted to ensure I was OK! This type of customer service is truly amazing and not found often in my experience. I highly recommend Cibolo Family Medicine and specifically Dr Karos Munñoz for your medical needs.

However, if I call to get a physical wellness exam my appointment gets pushed out 4-6 months. It makes me sad because I like to keep tabs on my health every year but having to book so far in advance seems a bit extreme especially since my schedule or circumstances may change during the window that I am waiting. I don't have any chronic illnesses or huge health concerns but diabetes, cancer and high blood pressure run in my family and I would rather be proactive now that I do not have issues in hopes that my preventative measures will allow me to catch an illness earlier rather than later. I do hope they start allowing more flexibility for physical exam appointments. It would be nice if there was a balance of sick visits and physical exam visits available. Also, the front desk staff really needs to work on being more friendly.. I feel that they are always less than eager to help and when you call treat you as if you are a nuisance.

Why am I getting weighed and having my blood pressure taken for a cosmetic neurotoxin? Spoiler alert: none of that mattered. They pitched me hard -- upsold me before even explaining the pricing. I ended up with 95 units of Dysport (allegedly), which sounded high, but I figured they were just being aggressive with sales. For reference, my friends get half that amount for the same treatment areas -- forehead and glabella -- and see actual results. I saw... nothing. Fast forward to the follow-up: the nurse told me I'd need even more units. At this point, I'd already paid $350 and wasn't about to drop another dime. They didn't offer to correct it, didn't acknowledge that maybe something was off, and definitely didn't act like customer satisfaction was a priority. I've had Botox and Dysport before. I know what proper post-care looks like. I followed every instruction to the letter -- and still, the results were underwhelming at best, nonexistent at worst. Bottom line: you're not getting what you pay for, and you're definitely not getting what they promise. Don't be fooled by the social media sparkle. There are plenty of reputable med spas out there. This one just isn't it.

He had already been treated in the hospital and was specifically instructed to follow up with his PCP, and he was also due for his annual visit. Unfortunately, we were met with extremely poor customer service at the front desk. The receptionist repeatedly stated that the clinic 'doesn't treat accidents,' despite us clearly explaining multiple times that he was not seeking accident treatment, but rather a hospital discharge follow-up and routine care. We even provided hospital documentation showing he had already been treated, yet there was little effort or willingness to review or upload the paperwork into his chart. The lack of listening, understanding, and basic professionalism was very concerning. As a nurse, I found this experience especially frustrating and disappointing. Access to primary care--especially for appropriate follow-up--should not be this difficult. After reading similar experiences from other patients, I feel confident that changing providers is the safest and most appropriate decision for us. Due to the nature of this encounter, I also intend to report this experience and provide appropriate documentation to outside agencies to ensure this issue is addressed and does not continue to affect other patients. You never know the circumstances or backgrounds of the patients and families you are interacting with--compassion, professionalism, and proper communication are essential in healthcare.

Dr Cowan is nonjudgmental, doesn't tell you how you feel is right or wrong (it's how you feel) and gives you insight to your life.
