Love this gym! Our daughter has come so far since joining. The coaches really take the time to work on the basics and build the skills

Shooting Starz gymnastics school is an exceptional program! All three of my children have been a…read morepart of their progressive program. This helped them make friends, body awareness and confidence. As a mom, it helped me meet other families with similarly aged children in the area! We have also taken advantage of their open gym times to burn energy and their themed parents night out (because who doesn't need to have some adult conversation?)! The gym is clean and safe! My older daughter has now been on the gymnastics team for 3 years! She started in mommy and me classes at 2 years old. We have traveled, made memories and so many friends along the way! My daughter has learned so much, besides gymnastics! Shooting Starz has become a family for us! I highly recommend!!

This is gonna be a long one. My daughter absolutely loved this place the staff is friendly but the…read moreowners are money hungry! First off they over stack these classes so there is no one on one experience it is very difficult for the girls to learn anything when there is 20+ girls to one or two coaches. At the end of each session you can either move up or stay in the same class. Don't ever question why your daughter is not moving ahead because all they do is make excuses and tell you to enroll in private lessons. This is where they make their money private lessons. Now I don't want to sound biased but my daughter was very good I seen girls move ahead before her. That's fine, I get it sometimes that's how it is but after three years and still has not made the team something is wrong. So I ask the owner what do I have to do to get my daughter on the team I was really to pay for more private lessons now they want to use her age credit she is 8 1/2 years old now I am told she's too old to make the team? This is absolutely ridiculous I guess I was a problem father, I really have no idea. So with a heavy heart me and her talked about possibly moving to a different gymnastic school. She agreed for was frustrating for her as well I see this happen a lot through the years being there a lot of girls disappearing and I was wondering why, I do see why now, so needless to say three months in the new school my daughter made the team and there is well had no idea why she was not on the team at this place shooting stars. After talking with numerous people through the time that we left this place, I found out this is their standards their money money money. So good luck if you would roll in this place you'll see ..... update, anyone want to know a real school just ask me, daughter is now throwing double fulls at age 12 and is on a level 9 team, funny how she couldn't make the team at this place lmao!!

To be honest, I was very disappointed with my experience at Kids Co-op…read more My daughter is still only in preschool, so I didn't expect too much to begin with. But since I just moved to the area, I thought it was important to enroll my little one in something where she could make new friends locally. I thought it would be a wonderful opportunity for some good exercise, learning to follow multiple-step instructions, learning about thinking positively/feeling a sense of achievement, healthy eating, etc. But none of my hopes came to fruition at all. (And I know what I was looking for wasn't over-the-top, because I've seen this sort of positive environment before at a different location, and also experienced it myself at my adult trapeze class.) - After 6 classes, the coach NEVER introduced herself to me. I learned her name the last day because I asked. She also never introduced the kids to one another. My daughter only learned the names of any other kids because when week 3 rolled around and I asked her who her favourite friends were at the class, she couldn't tell me any names. I said, "Oh, well go introduce yourself! Just say, 'My name is X, what's your name?'" She left the class with 4 names that day. When you're in gymnastics, isn't one of the biggest goals to develop a good team mentality? How did the kids go un-introduced the entire time they practiced and played together? - I only knew the name of the receptionist/business owner because of a purchase confirmation. She never said hello when we came into the building. She DEFINITELY never asked if my daughter was enjoying the class. She never apologized after a scheduling mix-up. She spoke poorly to me of her own daughter right in front of her, in a facility that supposedly is supposed to encourage kids to have a good self-image. Put a bad taste in my mouth, for sure. Her kid wasn't even much older than mine. - Apparently, parents were supposed to receive a progress update every couple weeks, but, like I said, the coach never so much as introduced herself. - They sell soda, cookies, chips, and other junk food as a snack for after a class that's supposed to promote good health. - Dust is caked on everything. There are these huge vents that are painted jewel-toned primary colours, which you can see from beneath, but even so, you can't see through the dust on the top halves of the tubes. At first, I thought that only the bottom halves were painted! - The bathrooms are always gross. I didn't feel comfortable getting my daughter changed for class in there. - The coach is nice enough to the kids, but isn't able to give any of the kids any sort of individual attention due to there being too many kids per class. Since they do activities in "rotations", the coach will often be distracted by a single activity while the kids wander to the other rotations without instruction. Typically, the kids watch whichever kid is in front of them for direction. The only reasons I have to NOT rate it 1 star are: because my daughter had fun there, anyway; because it seems like the competition classes have more skillful coaches; and because a lot of kids benefit from the activity days there, where at least they're socializing instead of being parked in front of a TV. I don't suggest enrolling your 3-4 year old there.

I didn't want to have to write this ever! But I was employed here last year as one of the child…read morecare staff, and after being lied to on the phone I've had enough! So I'm spilling the beans, there are child care staff that work there atleast while I was there that didn't have all of there clearance to work with children and the head of child care Brianna Dugas said a number of times that she would just change that employees hire date if state was to ever come, along with that staff there were instructed to go "toe to toe" with children when a child was giving attitude, throwing a fit, not listening, etc! We were instructed to ignore one said child if she was angry that day. While working there 1 time there was no school and a mom was under the impression we were ordering pizza for the children (like we planned) and didn't pack her child a lunch... I had an extra soup for lunch and got permission from the parent it was fine to give to the child so they could eat lunch and that mom wouldn't be late to work, Brianna then told me I'm not aloud to give her the soup and she's just going to have to have a snack! That's all the child ate all day because my boss Brianna denied her food! I quit the Y about 3 months ago cause I could not tolerate this kind of behavior. Unfortunately I had to call there the other day and ask for the copy of my finger print form because I got a new job and Brianna states that she never got it... STATING THAT WHILE I WORKED THERE SHE NEVER HAD MY CLEARANCE! which she has because I just got a copy and the address was sent to the greater pittston ymca! This is the most unsafe child care facilities I have ever dealt with and strongly suggest they shouldn't even be in business!
