So it's 9.30pm. I've just woken up from a three hour nap despite my protests that I wasn't feeling…read morethe effects of jetlag since leaving Edinburgh. And I was STARVING. Cue me checking out deliveroo and ubereats for something delicious that could arrive quickly. I stumbled across Triakosia and given the proximity, just decided to head on over before closing time. Now it's located on the main Street area of Clifton Hill (25 years in Melbourne and I just learnt this suburb existed). Given the late hour the place was totally empty, nonetheless I was greeted with a smile and an open kitchen. I ordered the Penelope- a lamb souvlaki with potato. After a short wait I was given my dinner and headed back to mine. Now this is a kebab made with love. It's smaller than your usual kebab but the pita bread was so soft and warm, the lamb cooked perfectly, the tatziki was so creamy and garlicky and I could taste hints of lemon as I ate. Added to that was some tomato and onion. I do think the lamb could have done with a bit more salt and overall more onion (that's just my preference) but given the late hour, I was so impressed at the way this kebab was lovingly made. Also, the interior is decorated really nicely with a super chill atmosphere. Highly recommended!

We are seated outside on little stools. It's a hit day. We feel like salads. Their counter salads look great but come with a catch. You can't order a salad as a main only as a side and you can't mix two. And it's a small side place of 13.50. Or you can get takeaway for two salads for 13.50 is a small sumo sized salad cup. Why because they're promoting something called responsible cafes so apparently cardboard takeaway containers and plastic spoons are responsible. Yes the waiter thought it was a bit much too but what can he do. 13.50 for a small salad takeaway is already overpriced. Yes I had the fish bulgur salad which was sensational and their eggplant tahini salad was to die for but I had takeaway walked 10 minutes to Edinburgh gardens with better seating less noisy and a nice atmosphere. Also their small sized coffee is 4 dollars and weak. Recommend getting takeaway only. You won't be saving the environment but you will definitely make less of a hole in your pocket. Menu is definitely to die for and staff are lovely despite the insanity that prevails.

We got greeted with smiley and friendly staff - always a good start to the day. Place is small but the turnaround was pretty fast! We got a table straight away. The cuisine is turkish-greek and the dishes are absolutely delicious and full of flavour. We tried a bit of the spanakopita to start, which was no less than my greek grandmother's homemade pita! We had the baked eggs and avocado ezme with a side of sesame koulouri and no joke we licked the plates clean! So much flavour and very generous portions. There are so many options for those who want a takeaway - a cabinet full of delicious pitas, salads, boreks and little bites! Oh coffee is from code black and perfect! Can't wait to try some more dishes!

    Nice interior.

Grecian Scenes - The bar within the restaurant. Interesting but too many art decos that clash. Limited alcohol on display. Is this all they sell?

Started off with the owner of the restaurant introducing herself. She was very friendly & explained the history and staffing of the restaurant. She then went on to explain the menu & the history of some of the foods. She highlighted that the food can take a little bit to come out, however freshness of the ingredients was the key in her speech. The first course came out within about 5 minutes or so. Breads & dips. They weren't too bad, but not being a fan of pickled and food with vinegar in it, I was not one to jump for joy. The other half however enjoyed it, and to this point, probably would have given this place 4 1/2 out of 5. But then the stars start to fall. The next course took about 20 minutes to come out then the next just under an hour. By this time, I am getting frustrated and ready to kill the next animal that walks past me so I can devour it like a starving cave man. Unfortunately I am still here at the restaurant waiting for another course two hours since we got here. I believe that we have one dessert course left, but I am still hungry. Only been offered the one round of drinks at the start of the night and have been drinking tap water ever since. The wait staff try to take our plates half way through eating a meal & have to stop them taking it. Now our empty plates have been sitting in front of me for a good 15 minutes plus without being taken away. I still wouldn't mind another drink but maybe I will get better service at 7/11. It seems the wait staff are too busy talking to other guests & putting away menus for the 50th time now. The kitchen seems to be cooking in batches, so some peoples meals are just so slow coming out, whereas others haven't even finished one course without another being jammed in front of them. For the Greek food lover, I think that you would probably like it, but watch out for the slow action with anything. This place started off well, but only went on a fast decline. By the way, the table just got cleaned and wiped down. Our water bottle and glasses were empty - he actually picked them up, wiped under them, then put them back down. Who do I have to sleep with here to get a DRINK??? Good luck you don't starve between courses.
