Comcast has the WORST customer service I have ever come across. If you have a business line with them watch out for their self reneweing contracts, not only do they have aggressive termination fees but are very misleading; if you can consult an attorney before signing a cancellation form. They are great at selling you the services but do not deliver good customer service and like to deceive their customers. I usually find people who give the lowest possible score to a company to be annoying and suspicious ... probably just competition trying to steal customers away from a business. But the fact is that I'm giving Comcast 1 star only because there's no way to give it zero stars. They have been a total nightmare. We've been trying to get our cable/internet/phone service since March, and FIVE MONTHS LATER, they STILL haven't done a single thing right, and we STILL don't have service to the cottage in the back. They even accidentally changed our phone number, which we have had for almost 20 years, and they couldn't correct the error for almost 3 weeks. It's a lucky thing we were able to get our number back and it wasn't assigned to someone else. The problems we've had with them are so numerous that I really can't get into all of it. It's been practically a part-time job dealing with them. Orders not placed when they were supposed to, orders placed and then mysteriously cancelled by their system, appointments missed over and over again, equipment not being sent, techs coming out and not doing the work they were supposed to for one reason or another, conflicting messages being given by different agents ... the list goes on and on and on and on and on ... you get the idea. The only reason we've even bothered continuing to try to make this happen is because our internet connection with AT&T was so slow that it very often had trouble loading a standard, no-frills web page. The service with Comcast isn't lightning fast or anything like that (even though we have the fastest service they provide), but it is what you expect from an ISP. If we had any other realistic options available, though, I can tell you for a fact that we would NOT willingly give Comcast our business. So, after 5 MONTHS of working with these idiots on a weekly basis, here's my advice to you on the best way to handle things: (1) WORK ONLY VIA CHAT ... because, with this company, one agent will tell you one thing and another agent will tell you the exact opposite, and they don't seem to keep any records of what you've called in about or what they've said or promised to their customers. Even confirmation #s don't mean anything. I've called in to ask about a standing order and given a confirmation #, and they've claimed not to have it in their system. This may be because they are using at least 2 different systems (I was recently trying to get stuff done via a chat window and the agent I was chatting with couldn't find me on the system as an authorized person on the account. Despite the fact that I'm the only fluent English speaker in my household and I'm the one who had been handling ALL account matters for the months we've been trying to get this mess straightened out. With the chat window open, I CALLED in and talked to another agent, Joe, who said yes absolutely, I was right there on the first screen. When I relayed this information to the guy I was chatting with, the chat agent kept giving me the run around. Joe asked me to ask him which system he was using, and the chat agent responded that he couldn't tell me about the technology the company uses. He also couldn't give me his agent ID number, he insisted, even though Joe gave me his with no problem whatsoever), but this really shouldn't be the customer's problem, should it??? Their chat software lets you print a transcript of the chat for your records. The transcript shows the chat session ID #. In theory, someone somewhere in corporate should be able to pull up a record of the chat by the ID number, but really, I don't trust a single thing that comes from this company, so I also PDF the chats and keep them. I imagine that a class-action law suit is not far off, and I want to have documentation of the insanity this company has put me through. (2) Be really polite and ask as if there's nothing wrong ... BUT GET THE AGENT'S OPERATOR ID UPFRONT. If they're not willing to give it to you before there's anything wrong, they're certainly not going to give it to you after. Their agents seem to be trained differently, and some will give it to you and others won't (you really have to wonder about a company that would train their agents to NOT give out their agent ID number). If you ask upfront, you won't waste your time on a call that you won't be able to document later. If they don't give you their ID, "hang up" and try again until you get an agent that does. (3) DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. I'd like to figure out a way to record my calls for those occasions where I have to call in, but at the very least I record date/time of calls, name of whom I spoke to, and what we talked about. I try to get agent IDs and confirmation #s for EVERYTHING, and if I didn't get a confirmation #, I assume nothing is going to happen, since it doesn't always happen even when I *DO* have them. If I could leave no stars, I would. The service took long enough in the store but when I finally spoke to a woman working there, she seemed helpful, so it was fine. I later called them in store and asked to be redirected to the woman I had previously spoken to and the person did not want to redirect me because "there's nothing she can do that I can't help you with". When I insisted on speaking to her, she called me a moron and hung up on ME! It was ridiculous and I can assure you I will not be setting up an account with Comcast. read more

I came into exchange equipment, and was impressed by the professionalism, courtesy, and knowledge of the staff. Sunday afternoon, store was well-staffed. As I walked up to the door with bags in hands, a young lady opened the door and came outside to help me. Once in, she found someone to help me right away. There were several staff on hand, all smiling - and courteous. My agent, Danny, was unbelievably patient, taking the time to make sure not only was my equipment right, but that my new service with Comcast was just right. I am writing not about this specific store but about the company COMCAST, their unorganized ways, their terrible customer service, their bogus collection agency services. How in the world, if I contact Comcast via Web and ask for a quote for a service, WITHOUT EVER REQUESTING THE SERVICE, I received the very next day a package from COMCAST with the equipment for installing the service, then I called and called and called and called saying NO, please stop, I do not want the service, I merely was asking for information. I do not want to install your equipment, I am a customer of AT&T for years, WHERE CAN I RETURN THIS equipment, Finally after 2 weeks Comcast' rep directs me to a UPS near my home in Kendall, FL. Then I go, to that UPS store to return the equipment. THE UPS REP says that these returns are 30 PER DAY, when customers come to return NON WANTED EQUIPMENT. But, Wait,, COMCAST KEEPS SENDING ME BILLS for THEIR NON SERVICE- NEVER ACTIVATED to my NON EXISTENT ACCOUNT and after I called and called and called, COMCAST SENDS THIS BOGUS DEBT to a COLLECTION AGENCY, The CBE Group, Inc., 1309 Technology Pkwy.Cedar Falls, IA 50613, AND THEY CALLED AND CALLED MY WORK DEMANDING PAYMENT. My question to Comcast is: WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU DOING? HOW MANY MORE PEOPLE HAVE YOU DUPED INTO PAYING A NON EXISTENT SERVICE??? Am sending a certified letter to CBE Group, with copies to COMCAST with copies to FL ATTORNEY GENERAL, and am complaining VERY PUBLICLY TO YELP. Would give no stars if I could. Absolutely terrible Customer service. I've been happy with the service when it's working but after phoning for the 4th month to get the auto draft set up and yet again they mess up, it's time to move on to a better provider. Wasted 4 hours of my day trying to resolve my problem to get no where. Word of advice if you get to the cancellation department and speak to Stephen (8527) rather hang up and call again to speak to someone else, he is rude, interrupts you and leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I wish xfinity Comcast would take responsibly for their mistakes and not just say to the customer "there is nothing we can do" also please fix your agents phones, nothing more irritating than hearing "sorry I can't transfer you because my phone is not working" so you have to wait ANOTHER 30 min to hopefully get an agent who can transfer you to the right department. Also be careful, if you phone cuts the call after 30 min of holding and 10 minutes with an agent they WILL NOT CALL YOU BACK! Trust me, it happened three times today. read more

This is the most God awful place I have ever been to for service. The first time I waited over an hour to cancel service and return equipment in the equipment return line. I went back again to return the modem and was given a ticket and told to take a seat and I would be called. They said the wait would be an hour to and hour and a half just return a modem (said no way and left). They said they do not have a separate line for equipment returns. THIS PLACE SUCKS and so does COMCAST I would never use them for any service of any kind even if I had to go without internet and tv. I use the dish and ATT now and have had no problem with customer service in fact its easy to talk to them. Try calling Comcast takes an hour on hold just to speak to someone that does not even help you. read more

Amazing!!!! Got COMCAST phone service two months ago and so far they have changed my phone number THREE times!!!! And last time they guaranteed it would not happen again and I have been without the phone service for three days again!!!! I have spoken to 17 different people in four days!! This is amazing!!!! Worst, most disorganized service I have ever seen!!! First time they didn't know what happenned; second time they ported out to some company I've never heard AND I NEVER requested it. Since the phone partially had stopped working, I called and they said it was in the process of being ported out and I told them it was a mistake they had made and for them to cancel it!! Talked to so, so many people and they went on and ported my number who knows where to! Today they asked if I'd like a new number or 5 days to get the old one back. chose new, need a phone, they said it would be working partially since 10 AM now it is after 6 PM and nothing!! I am on the phone again with them for 20 minutes and have spoken to 3 people so far only in this call! They said they'd give me 2 premium channels for the hassle I've been going through, and so far NOTHING!! read more
