There are some brilliant doctors, specialists, PAs, nurses and technicians that work there. However, the oncology department has light years to go before I would ever consider recommending them to friends or family that are trying to navigate a cancer-related health crisis. I'm trying not to post negative reviews. Consider this a public service. Saratoga oncology really has issues and they need to be addressed. I'm not going to throw the doctor's name out here, but if you are referred to Saratoga oncology, get a second opinion. Better yet, if you can, just go elsewhere. NYOH in Albany. Sloan in NYC. Dana-Farber in Boston. Johns Hopkins. Anywhere but here. Why, you ask? Well, a myriad of reasons. First-an oncologist that does a blood test and plans on discussing with the patient 3 months later-at the next appointment. Second-same oncologist doesn't follow up AT ALL with the patient that clearly has cancer marker numbers that are steadily rising. Third-an admin...or nurse (we don't really know what this person does) called patient to tell her that cancer has spread and there's nothing more to do. Not kidding-that really did happen to someone. Think maybe that the oncologist should be the one to make that call, or, perhaps...schedule a meeting with the family and offer other options? Yeah...I think so, too. And, by the way, the admin was wrong. The information was based on a limited test and said patient has since received thoughtful care elsewhere and is thriving. Until they get their act together, avoid this place.

While the organization serves an important…read morerole in patient care, there were ongoing concerns related to workplace culture and consistency in policy enforcement. One of the most concerning issues I observed involved inconsistent adherence to medication handling and patient privacy protocols. Situations occurred where policies did not appear to be applied equally among staff, which can create risks in a healthcare setting and undermine accountability. Additionally, communication and conflict resolution within the workplace were challenging. Concerns raised were not always addressed in a transparent or supportive manner, which made it difficult to feel heard or supported as an employee. I believe strongly in patient safety and fairness in the workplace, and it's important that all staff are held to the same standards regardless of role or tenure. I hope the organization continues to improve in these areas, as consistency and accountability are critical in healthcare environments. Pros: Meaningful work, opportunity to support patients Cons: Inconsistent policy enforcement, communication challenges, workplace culture concerns

While my doctor was thorough and knowledgeable, he set my expectations for what chemo treatment would be. Upon checkout, the scheduled changed the doctor's plan stating their providers aren't knowledgeable of their latest policies and procedures. I received a call a few days later which, again, changed my treatment schedule. I have no faith they know what they're taking about. While my NYOH doctor stated the importance to coordinate care with another one of my specialist doctors, he subsequently refused to do so. Why? If you're faced with the need for oncology/hematology care, run to find another provider. Do not go here!
