Dr. Xie came highly recommended by a friend of mine and I transferred into her care about 5 months into my pregnancy. She had a waitlist when I called, so if you can establish care early I would definitely recommend it! Dr. Xie is wonderful - she is so thorough and thoughtful in her assessments and laying out options for what to consider. She is direct and to the point, which I appreciate, and she never made me feel rushed with my appointments. This was my second baby which she delivered via c-section and she was with me from the time I checked in at the hospital at 530am to holding my hands through the epidural to delivery to patching me up.. PLUS she was there the day after (which was a Saturday!!) to check on my c-section incision. I lost way less blood this time around and the incision is healing up nicely so far...way better than my first. Had my second baby, I was high risk I was also followed by mfm but Dr. Xie was there throughout everything again. She was there on New Year's Day when I needed her. And I appreciate her so much. I was probably a very complex patient, but during my labor I know I was whiny and crazy! But she stuck through it and delivered me again! I dodged a cs that was probably thought about multiple times. Dr. Xie is one of the best OBs. She delivered my first baby. At first, I was very nervous and had anxiety about labor/ and delivery but Dr.Xie made my experience as smooth as possible. When I was in the hospital, she checks in with me multiple times throughout the day to see how I am doing and how baby was doing after delivery. Dr.Xie is very knowledgeable, willing to answer any questions. She is a sweet lady. Love her! When I had issues (when my baby didn't kick) I called her in the middle of the night, she answered my phone and gave me instructions on how to get baby to kick. Whenever I have questions, I would send her a message through the Sutter/UCSF portal, she respond them fairly quick. Her office staff were amazing. My husband and I compared 5 different Obs for my first pregnancy before deciding on our Ob. And we are so so so glad we chose Dr Xie! A few reasons I recommend Dr Xie: 1. Her emergency C-section rate is remarkably low compared with most of obs in the network, and this is the main reason I chose her. In the end, she delivered my 7lb 3oz baby through natural birth, with NO tear! I was able to walk without too much pain a hour later after labor. Both my husband and I felt that our labor experience went as perfect as it could possibly be. And I also recovered very fast during postpartum due to the smooth labor. Can't thank Dr Xie enough on this. 2. She is very patient and has always been available for me when I have any concerns, which makes feel safe, well cared, and low stress during my pregnancy. For example, there was time I call Dr Xie at 7am in the morning about slow fetus movement. I thought it would went to her voice mail but she picked up the phone herself and talked to me about the situation. There was also time that I read something online about certain risk during pregnancy, and emailed her a bunch of research papers about the issue. She always replied to me promptly(normally within a few hours) and also discussed with me thoroughly about my concerns in our appointment. She is very patient and I always felt listened. 3. I like her energy and personality. She is direct and straightforward when giving medical advices; but she also has a chill vibe which makes me feel relaxed and positive when planning for my birth. Just a side note, when I was giving birth at Mill-Peninsula birth center, pretty much all the nurses I met praised Dr Xie and mentioned how amazing she is. And after giving birth, when the nurses learned that I had a smooth labor with no tear, two of them even said "Not surprised because it was Dr Xie." Dr. Xie is a wonderful physician, and I am so glad that I am lucky enough to have her as my ObGyn. During my first pregnancy, I was not sure what exactly to expect. Dr. Xie expertly guided me through all of the stages, tests, and what to expect at each appointment visit. She was professional, knowledgeable, and always took the time to answer any questions. Her clinic ran on time and I never felt like she was rushing or didn't have time for me. Her office staff are also friendly and personable. Two things stood out to me about Dr. Xie's practice (in addition to many other great things). First of all, her group practices in a way that they take care of their own patients. Every Ob appointment I had was with her and not with another doctor. When I went into labor at midnight, I called Dr. Xie directly and she came to the hospital in the middle of the night to deliver my baby. During my 4-day recovery, she came to my hospital room to see me every day, despite having a busy clinic schedule during some of those days. Many of my friends who have had babies have delivered them with groups that use more of an on-call system, and therefore haven't seen the same Ob twice, or their regular Ob night not be the person to deliver their baby depending on the day. Since I needed a C-section, I really appreciated having already built a relationship with Dr. Xie and having her do the operation rather than a physician that I did not know. Another thing I really appreciate about Dr. Xie is her knowledge and understanding of cultural practices. I was mainly raised in America, but my family is Chinese and believes in some traditional practices. Dr. Xie was familiar with all of them and was able to answer my mom's questions on postpartum diets, activity, etc while following a traditional Chinese recovery plan. Wish I could give lesser rating. Dr Xie was recommended by a colleague. During my first visit, she was really nice, professional, listened to all my concerns and prescribed me required medication that according to her I need to take daily However when it came to refilling medication during COVID she kept asking for annual exam and Pap smear. (She did approve refill request few times in 2020) I am hesitant to go to any doctor during COVID unless it's emergency and to me annual exam isn't one.. This time she refused my refill request unless I went in for annual exam. I emailed her back to ask if she can refill this one time and that I will come in for the exam once I receive the vaccine. When I called her office to explain my concern her front office was extremely rude - the woman who picked up said you can find a new doctor. This when they don't have a appointment available till next month. I tried explaining that I won't be able to come for the exam even if I wanted to since they don't have any availability.. But no avail. I rudely told to GET ANOTHER DOCTOR !! and hung up on. Extremely unethical !! Seems to be more interested in profiting off patients rather than helping them .. Spoke to some of my RN friends and they seemed flabbergasted a doctor would do this during COVID. and suggested to change to new doctor ASAP read more

Dr Xie was absolutely amazing. Me and my wife Zhe were so lucky to meet Dr Xie that helped us throughout. Since the first OB July 2017 until delivery a couple days ago, she was always there being patient, knowledgeable, and caring. She answered all kinds of our questions to help us reduce anxiety, and gave all different good recommendations. We appreciate every OB visit that she always explain expectations and status with full of details, and it helped a lot on decision makings with confidence. She was very reachable on delivery day. She helped my wife adjusted baby position to ensure more safe and effortless delivery, massaged around so that my wife only used 9 pushes to deliver. We were pretty vulnerable during delivery time but we felt very safe and strong when Dr.Xie was around. We were lucky to meet Xie. It was a very pleasant and amazing experience. Worst doctor ever, no compassion or empathy whatsoever. 0 stars if possible. Unfortunately she was the on call doc when I called. I was feeling nauseous, tingling in my jaw and hands, and had low blood sugar. My call got transferred to her from the representative, without knowing i was getting transferred to the physician. She didn't introduce herself so I didn't know I was talking to the doctor already, so we were saying hello a few times (confused), so I said i got transferred to let her know idk who I'm talking to. And she said yes this is Dr. Xie. She could've introduced herself when she picked up the phone. Anyways i started telling her my symptoms. Then she was like (in annoyed tone) are u pregnant give me some background, of course I'm pregnant why would I be calling the OB office if I'm not. She just seemed annoyed the whole conversation making me feel stupid for calling and bothering her night. Being pregnant during the covid-19 pandemic was not easy, but Dr. Xie was extremely helpful during the process and made things smooth and comfortable for us to the extent possible. Because of the pandemic, my appointments were not as frequent as they would normally be. If I were allowed to give more than five stars, I would definitely do so to Dr Xie! Dr Xie helped with my first pregnancy and delivery. She accurately estimated the size of my baby and suggested the right time for induction if the baby didn't come out himself. The labor process also went quite smooth with Dr Xie's instructions. Most impressively, I'm amazed by how fast I recovered post partum, even at the age of 33. I was able to do normal activities just a few days after delivery. I was told there was nothing to fix at the 6-week check up. In addition to the exceptional medical skills, Dr Xie has been very caring and personable throughout my entire pregnancy. She patiently answered all my questions in person and online. She alerted me when my blood sugar went slightly above the limit, and reassured things were fine when I got nervous. Her staff was also super personable. They asked to see pictures of my baby during my postpartum visit. I want to add that Dr Xie has the best covid prevention practices among all the physicians I see during covid. I got checked temperature at the beginning of every visit and never came across other patients in her office. Dr Xie also removed a few unimportant visits to reduce the chance of getting/spreading the virus. I feel very safe visiting Dr Xie and delivering with her. read more

I like her. -2 stars for the unfriendly staff: received a rude phone call and urge us to pay a new bill one week after receiving it. To be fair, the insurance company billed us with a wrong amount (New patient fee $300 was wrongly covered by the insurance at the first bill) and it cost a delay for them to receive the full payment. But the staff can do better with her attitude. No one like to be accused of being a deadbeat especially when they just picked up the phone :( read more

I really like Dr. Xie. She is the best OB/GYN that I have had. She is very informative, helpful and gives many alternatives when it comes down to medical concerns. Other doctors that I have had did not try finding out sources to concerns that I had, and when I mentioned concerns to Dr.Xie, she determined what I had, performed tests and educated me. Also, I find that she is very quick to answering the emails on the online email system she uses. Sometimes, there may be waits, but I've been to offices that had over hour long waits and I know many people who have had doctors where they had to wait for 2 or 3 hours. I at least come to my appointments early [5-15 minutes] and most of the time i'm pulled in on time. As a side note, Insurance is annoying, but it is up to the patient to know if services or tests will be covered and if you don't know, call insurance or ask how services will be coded at the doctors appointment. If people are going to complain about insurance not covering the appointment, then the review is not helpful to anyone. Either way, Dr. Xie is great, very educated, informative, and helpful. Dr. Xie is professional and nice. When I have questions and concerns about my pregnancy, she always answers me in detail. And every time I send her messages via online portal, she always replies me quickly. I have thyroid disease which may have some effects on the growth of fetus, she monitored this situation for whole trimesters carefully. Her guidance while I was delivering the baby is really helpful and made me feel at ease. She came to see how I feel for the days I stayed in hospital after delivering the baby and my wounds recovered well. The staffs in her clinic are also nice and friendly. I took my mother here for a consultation, and Dr. Haichun was really good with my Mom, patient and took her time with the exam. I knew my Mom would feel more comfy with someone Asian, a doctor who shares her ethnicity. As it is, my Mom doesn't trust doctors and hates going for medical stuff, so I had to strongarm her into going, but because she was having some symptoms, she needed to get an exam. I absolutely LOVE Dr. Xie and her office staff. She recently delivered my second baby, and the experience was SO much better than when I delivered my first baby (with another OB at another hospital). She is extremely responsive and timely. My appointments were virtually always on time -- I think I only had to wait more than a few minutes for one appointment out of the many pre/post natal visits. When I wrote her questions through the online portal, she responded in under an hour both times. She always took the time to answer my questions fully and gave me peace of mind. Everyone in her office is very friendly and professional. It was easy to get appointments at my preferred times. Her office staff was great about helping with paperwork I needed for my maternity leave, and they went above and beyond answering insurance questions. During the delivery itself, Dr. Xie was by my side for much of my labor, and she helped guide me through any decisions I needed to make. (Contrast this with my first delivery where the doctor arrived when it was time to push.) I felt like I was in the best hands possible. I really can't recommend her highly enough! read more

It's terrible! It was my turn to see the doctor and I was lead to her office. I don't know what happened but she kept me waiting for 30 minutes unless I went out asking someone " can I see the doctor?" and they fetched the doctor for me. She didn't inform me some test would cost me a lot of money which is not included in my insurance. My symptom is little and I just go for some general questions, but she did some test which are not routine and which are not covered in my insurance. The reason I complain is because I also see another doctor last year and he took the similar test which was routine and which was covered in my insurance. First things first, if I had a choice I would have given her a negative rating but unfortunately the lowest rating you can give is this! Dr. Haichun Xie, during the course of my pregnancy she was my Doctor for the first 2 trimesters. Im having difficulties with my pregnancy (still do ) her and her staff... they are not helpful at all!! Im having extremely shortness of breath, lower back pain as well as cramping on my legs, to her it's just a part of being pregnant. Made an appointment with my primary care she immediately wanted me to get and ultrasound of my legs as well as a cardiologist for my shortness of breath. With Dr. Haichun Xie, and her staff I felt like I was just a next in line for them, I felt like I wasnt being taken care of, I felt like I was being discriminated. Really stressful :( That's why I switched my OBGYN quickly Trust me if you want to save your time and money, do not go to her ! I would not recommend going to her .
