I have been seeing Dr. Yu for over 12 years and am so grateful for the care I've gotten from her. Her attention to detail honestly changed my life. During a routine exam, she found a lump in my breast that I had no idea was there. Because she was so on top of things and made sure I got it checked right away, my breast cancer was caught in the early stages. I can't thank her enough for that. When Dr. Yu saw the biopsy results, she called me and left a heartwarming, supportive message. I feel this shows her level of care is above and beyond. Dr. Yu is always patient, kind, caring, and incredibly thorough -- and those qualities have made a huge difference in why I've stayed with her for so long. From the first day I met her I knew she was the doctor I wanted to care for me throughout my pregnancies and bring my babies into this world, with her I knew I was always in the best possible care. My two teen daughters both go here. Dr Tsai was our first doctor but she moved unfortunately. She was amazing. We had to switch to Dr. Yu and each girl has visited her and completely adore her too She is very kind and gentle and understands how to deal with teenagers. She's also incredibly smart and thorough. I feel completely confident that I can trust her with their medical issues. I am shocked to read anything about the staff that is negative. We have been going to this office for probably a year and a half to two years and we have never had anything but very positive experiences over the phone, at the front desk, with the nursing staff, and with the doctors. I have not met one rude or unprofessional person in the office. I highly recommend Dr Yu and this office! They all do a great job! read more

This review is for overall team at the clinic. Staff is generally rude. It is not that difficult to be nice with patients. Doctor's seem more interested in number of patients they get to see per day. I waited for 20 minutes past my appointment time, only to be rushed by doctor in less than 5 minutes. Such medical issues are sensitive and I was appalled to notice that doctor hardly cared and rushed me through my appointments. I was terribly disappointed by my visit at this clinic. read more

I picked Dr. Yu as we are expecting our first child and her practice delivers at the hospital we would like to give birth at (Mills Peninsula). Dr. Yu has wonderful bedside manner and is a wonderful wealth of knowledge for me! She doesn't ever rush you out of her office (many times I am her last appointment of the day). I always feel at ease and she is extremely personable and easy to talk to. I am hoping that she is the dr that delivers the healthy baby (the entire practice rotates on-call responsibilities). I have been so happy with her during the entire pregnancy visits. She really does put all of your anxieties about being a first time parent and childbirth at ease. Her nurse is also really great and easy to talk to. My only complaint is that I wish the office staff was a little more friendly in person and over the phone. I know that it is a very busy office, but I haven't had the best experience when I have had encounters with the office staff. To me, this isn't a super big deal because you spend most of your time with the doctor and the nurse anyway. But, I wish they were just a little more friendly and welcoming like the doctor and her nurse. read more

Apparently you cannot leave a message with their answering service when you say the word "appointment". They tell you have to call back. And when you say it's with regards to your appointment, they tell you "oh it's abt your appointment, you have to all back." What if I just want to leave a message to call me back???????" read more

Didn't like the wait....( i hate that I have to wait AFTER i change to their gown...so embarassing and cold!!) but after Dr. Yu came in, made some small talk with me, I totally forgot how long I had to wait. Yeah, it's probably too much freakin' info. But she's the best, really!! I've had a gyn who pressured me into taking a new birth control pill for the two years I saw her, and finally, the second time was the last straw for me. I had to leave! And no, I refused to take this new drug! Not only does Dr. Yu have a GREAT bedside manner, but she's super insightful and does her research and WANTS to help you in any way. If the physical aspect wasn't so grotesque to begin with, I'd see her on a normal basis, instead of annually. lol Receptionists = friendly (& busy!) I love Dr. Yu, she is the best. She is the one doctor I feel completely comfortable to talk to about my "woman issues". She is knowledgeable and spends time to explain everything that is important or even minor to me. I went in for an initial checkup with Dr. Yu and I'm already a fan. I was able to get an appointment the day of since it was a little urgent. There is a parking structure next door which makes it easy to find parking. The receptionist greeted me when I walked in and handed me the paperwork to fill out. As soon as I turned that in, I was taken in to the exam room. I waited about 5 minutes for the doctor to come in. We had a conversation and she was great at answering questions. She has a great personality and is very helpful. I was in and out within 45 minutes. read more

The staff here is pretty rude. The front desk is not friendly and always a long wait to get an appt. They also charged me for an appt instead of charging my insurance as they used the wrong coding on the bill. I have had to call about 10 times and they never fixed my request to fix the coding on the bill and bill my insurance instead of me. My appt was preventative and not diagnostic. Every single time I call they say they're going to fix it and never call me back. And I still keep getting the same bill in the mail every month that I'm not responsible for and my insurance is responsible for. Emily is very nice but rest of staff and managing of this place sucks. New to this doctor's office but already such a fan of doctor Yu. The staff is generally pleasant but my experience via phone has been more pleasant then actual front office encounter. Lily was Dr. Yu's nurse when I came to visit for the first time and she was such a sweetheart. Dr. Yu is very personable. She returns her calls accordingly and doesn't rush you into decisions and definitely takes the time to make sure you understand what her diagnosis is and what your options are. She's very thorough and compassionate and overall, just very real and politely forward. Definitely recommended. read more

Awesome OBGYN. The Mrs. and I recently had a baby and Dr. Yu was the one we visited throughout the pregnancy. Let me just say she was definitely what we needed; someone patient that was willing to answer questions (no matter how many), and always reassured us everything was fine which it was. Since this was our first, we had tons and tons of questions and never once did she try to rush through answering our questions or act as if she had somewhere else to go. There were times where we called in and she would call back even late at night. The whole process of pregnancy is extremely stressful, at least it was for me and having such a competent, terrific doctor made the process a whole lot easier. read more

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience at this clinic. I did feel rushed during my second visit and the staff was rude over the phone as mentioned in other yelp reviews. However, What bother me the most was the fact that they gave me expired pre-natal vitamin samples. I couldn't believe that had happened. I sent an e-mail with pictures to the doctors and never heard back from them. I called the office twice and talked to Dina who said that she would talk to the doctors, but never got a phone call back from any of them. As a clinic that deals with pregnancy, I thought that they would acknowledge the situation. Last time I talked to Dina, I asked her to please double check the medication samples that they were giving to patients. As a first time mom, I expected a higher level o professionalism from this clinic. If you do decide to get the care at this clinic, I beg you to triple check all the medications they hand to you at the office. Best OBGYN experience i've had in a while! Im so glad my friend recommended me to her. Dr Yu was on time, and the minute she walked in and introduced herself, I felt so comfortable. She was very knowledgeable, and when I had questions, she really took the time to explain and listen to me. She isn't like other doctors that try to rush you out and makes you feel like just another job. Dr. Yu delivered my first baby and has given me my yearly check ups for a couple of years now. She's amazing! I hope I can live near enough to her to have her guide me through all my future pregnancies. Dr. Yu is calm, caring, and really addresses your concerns. I really feel that she cares about me - and she's constantly asking me specific questions to ensure my mental and physical health. I feel completely comfortable asking her questions and she gives thorough answers. While I was pregnant, I went to the hospital for a quick scare and she happened to be on shift. She saw my name and came in to see me and explain everything that was happening, even though she was on her way out. I really appreciate her! I've sent all my pregnant friends to her. The office isn't the best, I'll admit, but I've never had bad experiences, just mediocre. She's worth it, though! read more

Dr Yu was the on-call doctor when I was in hospital in labor. I had never met her before but she was EXTREMELY nice. She immediately put me at ease and I felt assured that I was in good hands. She listened to me carefully and was responded to my questions well. She is soft spoken and very sweet. After a whole day of labor, I had to ultimately go in for a C- section and she was well aware that it was not my first choice. So she made extra effort to make sure I was comfortable and that it was the best medical decision given the situation. She was equally polite and warm to my parents and husband who were extremely anxious and waiting to know what was going on. I would totally recommend her and infact switch to making her my regular OB. read more

She's nice. However, this group has you rotate and visit different doctors in this office so when you go into labor, you don't know who you're going to get. I like Dr. Yu but the staff is extremely unorganized, rude and so are the other doctors. If you're comfortable with having a random doctor deliver your baby when Dr Yu isn't available then I'd recommend her but then you'd have to deal with the mean staff and mean doctors in this office. Also, the wait times usually 1/2 hour and one time I waited a whole hour after rushing to get there on time read more

Well, Dr. Yu may very well be a good doctor, but I just could't get the assistant to make me an appointment timely enough. The scheduling policy is just too rigid. They don't see women who are less than 8 weeks pregnant and if you are a new patient, too bad, you will have to wait 2 weeks to see her...I just can't rely on a doctor who's so selective about who she sees. read more

I went to this office originally looking for another doctor. Due to a schedule conflict, I was introduced to Dr. Yu. I was very lucky! She is very patient and calm when she explains the situation. She is also very compassionate and caring. I went through a tough time, but got through it with her kind attentive support. I felt like I was in good hands.
