In long After my lovely bride had a massive stroke 15 months ago, pain set in over time. Neural pain makes mild inflammation in her hip and thigh feel like torture. If she pulls a muscle it's agony (and it's easy to fall when you've lost mobility, which can lead to pulls). She gets headaches that she never used to get. Lots of aches and pains throughout. We tried a pain management clinic in Everett and all they really did was walk us through the idea that there are 3 ways to manage pain. First is pain-relief drugs, which they refused to prescribe since they're not in the same network with her primary care. Sigh. Second is active treatment, and she was already getting PT, OT, massage, and, at the time, acupuncture. So they didn't see any potential there. Third is carefully-planned rest and activity periods. She was loving getting up and walking at the time so she was getting her blood flowing more than zero. So they agreed to do nothing at all for her. We also saw a pain interventionist in Silver Lake, who consciously declares (and is known in the industry) never to prescribe. She focuses on injections and other outpatient procedures to manage how the nervous system perceives pain. She couldn't see anything that would work for her, so, again, she did nothing. We got a third referral after her hip flared up again and her primary prescribed a stronger pain med in the short term. Her primary noted that she's always chasing her pain, rather than really managing it. So off to NWPM we go. The building is new enough, nice enough. Accessible parking underneath with a proper elevator. You get upstairs and it says you must ring the bell to get in. Turns out the door is unlocked, and ringing the bell just makes them get up to answer the door. Why do they not prop the door open? Why do they leave the sign up? It's just a little piece of copier paper taped to the door. Easy to remove. But okay. The front desk staff seemed confused about our presence, at least to some extent. Not sure what to have us do, not sure who we'd be seeing, not sure what to tell us to expect. Not encouraging. We sat in the waiting room, which looks like they got it on closeout. Tags still on. Frames with stock photos still inside--not even of local scenery, just the family photos that they sell with the empty frame. A little creepy. None of the furniture goes together. We finally go back and the physician's assistant who sees us is super nice. Very calm guy, patiently goes over her whole chart and recent medical history. Walks her through tons of options, asks tons of questions, explains all the different ideas he has for helping her. First he wants to replace her meds with a patch that will continuously manage her pain, and see how that goes. Sounds great! He said he just had a patient report that morning that she found the exact same Rx to be "stunning" in its effectiveness. Then on the way out we have to have a UA test to make sure she's eligible for a strong pain med...they don't know how we're gonna do that, or who's gonna help. So they let someone else go first while we wait with all the mismatched furniture. In the end, we're very optimistic about the potential for this treatment. But every other patient and every person in the office reminded us of an episode of Better Call Saul. Odd vibes here.

I'm a retired RN after a severe injury on-the-job, which broke my hips and several vertebrae, wrist and resulted in chronic pain. I've had several hip surgeries as they keep having problems. So, as a medical professional, I recognize Dr Oh's really caring treatment. He's even returned calls while he was out of the country on vacation! He's cares for everyone equally, and he manages complex spine issues. These injuries don't always just "heal up" and go away. Some stay forever and living day-to-day without his management would be much more limited. Your world shrinks with chronic pain. Even with the pain, a walker and medication, I can't walk through the grocery store, down the street where I live or even to the park next door! This has been going on for 16 years and I trust Dr Oh completely. He's the only doctor who really knows me, knows that I don't -and never would- abuse my medication. Without it, I'd be in bed 24/7. That's not living, to me. It's existing. I had a bad femur fracture in '22 which split the femur down the middle from the knee almost to the hip. I was "no weight bearing" for 2 months in a skilled nursing facility with two demented, incontinent roommates. After I could do PT with weight bearing, I worked as hard as I could to get strong and to gth out of there. It's not living, just existence. It took more months of PT/rehab, and even my doctors there continued Dr. Oh's regimen. They said that they knew that I was still in pain but I didn't want to come out of that facility as an addict. My doctors there said "stick with him. He clearly cares well for you." So, to the people who had a less-than-optimal experience, I feel sad. Nobody should feel bad about their Dr. The plans have to work for YOU, and Dr Oh will treat you with respect. If you are looking for a "pill mill" to get high, don't bother. He can see that in a heartbeat and can help you to get sober, but he won't just feed your addiction. It must be hard to have to buy meds on the street or from folks you can't trust. All of my other doctors (orthopedic, rheumatologist, primary care, etc) have been kept in the loop when changes have been made. That's real care, compassion and professionalism.

I was referred to her by a PT that had seen her and had found complete relief of his symtoms after a handful of visits. Everyone will be different with how they respond... I have been seeing her since Dec '10 somewhat regularly. Dr Lindsay has put me on a path to recovery from my issues in a way that none of my other doctors ever have (I have had neck pain for 20 years that was relieved after the first visit- it still comes back but the frequency is dramatically decreased). She has a very gentle touch but dramatic results. I really don't know how she does it or how to explain it to other people. After having chiro's twist your body unnaturally into painful positions what she does is incredibly subtle. I can do things now that I haven't been able to do in a long time, and without injuring myself every time. I swear she is magic... I also sent my teenaged son to her for curvature in his back and stiffness in his hips (he couldn't bend over at the waist). After one visit he increased his mobility significantly and grew an inch! He has seen her a handful of times- his physique is completely different- and normal now. He thinks she is magic too... She is a very kind person, a great listener, amazing healer, and fosterer of holistic care. She makes great referrals to other doctors when she believes it may benefit your overall health. He treated the same area that caused the eyes and sinuses to open and said that he could tell I'd been treated in that area before. He was impressed. She sent me to see someone else after a year when she couldn't resolve my issue, and that was a great experience. I still saw Dr. Lindsay for scoliosis, hip and neck pain, and whenever my knees got out of whack. Her work always lined up the knee caps. I saw her from 2003-2006, and whenever back in town. When I move back, I will see her again. She's great!
