It was pretty shocking their buffet table was just skewers of street Food and hoagie sandwiches. Beer and simple beach cocktails were available as well as a half a bottle of bubbly. But incredibly overpriced for what we got. If anyone reads this post for next New Year's, just don't do it you can get nice cocktails right there on the street and better viewing for the fireworks is down by the water anyway so walk down to the beach and enjoy a fantastic show

FYI fellow Americans in rio they serve beers big and in these bottle koozie's with small glasses these big bottles are to be shared by the table like a pitcher, or by yourself if you want to get into a rio state of mind faster. And finally if your order the fried fish and fires they will literally bring you a fried fish with fries, they whole fish Cheap drinks, plenty of people watching, live music why go anywhere else

My fellow Americans! (Obama voice)…read more So you're here in Brazil and realize the food is quite terrible, right? (I know, it's not what you expect when you travel.) Well this is a play-it-safe move for your Yankee tastebuds. Get the filet mignon and a side of rice. Don't even do the one that comes with sides because rice, French fries, and egg farofa is gonna be too much food. And besides, you don't even know what farofa is. I could tell you that it's a type of meal made from toasted cassava, but you don't know what that is either. (It's okay. We're gonna get through this.) Place is stuffier than my nose during the Santa Ana winds, so I wouldn't recommend going there wearing a ton of layers. Th-th-that's all folks! (Porky Pig voice)

It is VERY popular and I'm sure being recommended by Bourdain has a lot to do with it. The first time we tried to eat there the wait was over an hour long. We went sometime after 1AM and there was still a decent wait, maybe close to 30 minutes. The place is pretty small and cramped, but that gives it some charm. Somehow that makes the food taste even better. We ordered a little bit of everything and it was all amazing. Chicken, steak, fries, garlic bread, polenta. It was all cooked and seasoned to perfection. Everything we ordered was delicious Service was fair and prices are reasonable. Do yourself a favor and visit Galeto Sat's!

Super recomendo.

We stopped at Meza Bar for a few cocktails, and we ended up trying almost the entire 'Caips' cocktail menu. Between the four of us, we had five out of the six cocktail offerings! The best part about all of this was that if you're not wanting alcohol in your beverage, you have the option of having coconut water or soda water instead! For the alcohol options, you can choose cachaça but also Ciroc/Ketel One/Smirnoff vodka or sake. I wish we could have stayed here longer. Our server spoke English and gave us some great recommendations for our drinks! I HIGHLY recommend coming here for drinks if you're around Botafogo!

They have excellent and talented bar staff, but best of all, amazing live bands. The live bands were AMAZING! We came to Rio with the family and finally got away for the evening and all we wanted was a drink. We got to the front entrance and the bouncer informed us that there was a R$20 cover to get in. I looked at my husband because I didn't really want to pay to get into a bar that I was probably going to pay about R$30-50 reals for each drink and we were feeling like drinking. Anyways the bouncer didn't even give us the chance to respond when He said "why don't you go home and make your own drink, it's cheaper!" He was so rude that we left and went down the street to El Born. Which had some amazing premier cocktails. Bottom line they need to be more welcoming and perhaps explaining that they have a cover because there are live bands according to the reviews.
