Eleven days ago, I utilized my monthly membership with Xpress Car Wash and both of my windshield wipers were damaged. I immediately notified the on-site manager, who was very helpful; he even made on-the-spot efforts to reattach my driver-side wiper and inspect my passenger-side wiper (which is not functional at all). I informed the on-site manager that my windshield wipers were placed in the Service Position, which is slanted upward--I displayed this motion to him. The on-site manager took note of my name, phone number and car make, model and color for claim submittal. The on-site manager informed me that he would submit a claim to fix my wipers because it was a Saturday (29 August 2020) and there were no auto repair shops open. Additionally, the on-site manager informed me that I should receive a call from claims on Monday (31 August 2020). After not hearing anything from Xpress Carwash, I then visited the location and spoke with the same on-site manager to inform him that I have not heard anything from Xpress Car Wash regarding my claim. The on-site manager assured me that the claim was submitted (by checking in an electronic system) and asked me to allow someone from claims to call me. Additionally, I asked this manger should I wait for claims before entering the car wash that day, and he advised me to wait for a claims call first. I adhered to his advisement. I revisited Xpress Car Wash on Friday (4 August 2020) to inform the management that I still have not received a call from their claims department. The on-site manager was not there; so, another employee was able to verify that the claim was submitted and stated that he would request email notification regarding the claim. After not hearing from Xpress Car Wash, I revisited the location again today (8 September 2020) and the same employee that requested an email notification regarding my claim--he stated that he did not receive anything about the claim either. So, the employee then provided me the Office Phone Number and Direct Phone Number for the Claims Department, specifically for Jeff White. This employee informed me that the on-site manager was not present at the location today, but would be on-site tomorrow. I initiated contact with Jeff White using the direct phone number but no one answered. I then dialed the Office Phone number and spoke with Sandy B., who stated that she is the Office Manager. I asked to speak with Jeff White regarding a claim submitted and provided her with my name. Jeff White spoke with me (stating that he is the Claims Manager) and immediately began to dispute my claim and rudely asking me what did I want to know about it. I informed Jeff White that the onsite manager informed me that he submitted my claim eleven days ago and I have not heard anything regarding it since that time. Jeff White stated that he believed that my windshield wipers were on auto-sensing mode and moving during the car wash, which caused the damage to my windshield wipers. I informed Jeff White that I purposely placed my windshield wipers in Service Position Mode because I am aware of the functionalities regarding my Audi A5. Jeff White became very rude and aggressive in our conversation, even refusing to listen to me regarding my car wash experience. I asked Jeff White for a mailing address to submit office writing regarding my claim and he stated to me that I can find that information on Google. I asked him again for a mailing address to send written correspondence directly to him, but he stated that I can send correspondence to the car wash location. I asked Jeff White to verify his title and he stated that he is the Claims Manager for the whole company and that the buck stops with him. Again, I asked Jeff White if there were management over him and Jeff White stated that there was no one in management over him. After that phone call, I dialed the office phone number directly back and spoke with Sandy B. again, who then stated that she is the Office Manager. I asked Sandy if there were management that I could speak with regarding my claims, such as an Operations Manager. Sandy B. informed me that Jeff White is both the Operations Manager and the Claims Manager and that there were no other management over him. I thanked her and ended the phone call. The most disappointing thing about this experience is that Jeff White was very rude and even argumentative when I spoke to him about my claim, which there was no prior communication received from him regarding it. The on-site manager seemed to be extremely helpful and even understanding regarding my windshield wiper damage because he was there when the incident happened and even made attempts to fix both windshield wipers. I think that it is very unprofessional on the parts of Jeff White and Sandy B. in the way that both handled my request for written correspondence regarding my claim and especially in the lack of customer service regarding my underwhelming experience. read more
