Xtreme Escape Adventures was a blast for us. I planned a corporate event at this location which ran very smooth thanks to Anna at the Xtreme Escape Adventures. The process : Well they were very friendly over the phone and were quick to reply back with price quotes through emails and we were able to work out a deal to keep us in the budget and They can also included a Jenga puzzle to take as a memento for the entire team, with a slight increase in the price. Once we got there Anna took over and explained us all the rules and regulation and got us going quickly. Anna was very friendly and sociable. About the rooms : There were 3 different types of escape adventures: 1) the graveyard - Fitting about 10+ people, so this was the biggest room they had. 2) airport explosion - Fitting about 6 people and this was the hardest room. 3) the antidote - Fitting about 6 people I am not going to describe the room, not spoil you fun. They also have some signs which you can take pictures with as any other escape room places. Wear summery clothes as it can get a bit hot in the rooms. So don't wear any sweaters and jackets. They also have lockers there to put all your belonging in as you are not allowed to take your phone in. Getting there was a bit tricky so follow: "There are 2 entrances to the plaza, one around the back on Britannia Road East and the other on Dixie Road itself. You will need to come into the main building- Dixie Airport Centre, facing Dixie Road and take the elevator up to the 2nd floor, turn left, and all the way down the corridors." I didn't really know what to expect when I walked into this place. It's a facility that offers more "realistic" type escape scenarios compared to other facilities that I have seen advertising for escape adventures. There were 3 different types of escape adventures: 1) the graveyard, 2) airport explosion and 3) the antidote (ranked from easiest to hardest, based on overall "success" or completion rate). I chose the antidote, of course, not knowing that it was going to be the hardest of them all. My boyfriend and I almost solved our scenario...not bad for first-timers ;). haha. Without spoiling the adventure, keep your eyes open and definitely work with someone who is patient but also co-operative! The rooms are quite small, a lot more so than I had anticipated, but part of that is attributed to the lack of building space. Wear comfortable or looser clothing, as some of the escape rooms can be very hot. Overall, I definitely would consider going back. Just an FYI - they offer discounted rates for those who go back beyond a 1st experience. One thing I really liked about this company is that all the people who worked for it were very sociable. We arrived much earlier than our anticipated start time, but we sat in the room with the workers who also took the time to get to know their clientele - A+. Advice to those who are driving: the facility is located at 1515 Britannia Road E. It is across the street from the Scotiabank and the Burger King. THERE IS NO BUSINESS SIGN for this business on the OUTSIDE of the building. I probably drove around like 3 times around the building before I realized that (duh) and called the facility. You will need to go into the building and to the second floor, heading LEFT when you get out of the elevator and walking straight down. read more

This was difficult haha and I'm not just talking about escaping the room... although we didn't escape the room...sadly Booking process, we booked online and their reservation system was a bit weird and was sending me emails with updates I didn't make. Emailed them and got it sorted out, but took more than 2 to 3 back and forth. Get there and more issues with the vouchers (no disclaimers that only 1 voucher would be accepted per room- we had a wag jag one) but the person behind the desk was kind enough to work it out for us. Finally get in the room and it was lack luster compared to other rooms I've been in. Simple set up with not enough imagination in a tiny space. Felt like we were doing a standard test instead of escaping from something scary. We booked the most available one so many the other 2 was better. read more

This was the first escape adventure I embarked on. Through the usage of a groupon-esque type deal, we were able to snag this adventure for around ~12$ / person. The price point was pretty good considering the length of the event. This is probably the only good thing I can say about the event. As someone who is extremely analytical, and thrives off of competition and the thrill of solving a puzzle, Xtreme Escape Adventures managed to fulfill absolutely none of those feelings. The entire premise of the challenge was extremely linear. Doing the graveyard shift skit, there were about 6 boxes, 4 of which were in a line. And guess what? You solved them in a line. The aesthetics of the place were reminiscent of my local dollarama during Halloween time. Everything was tacky, useless, and added nothing to the puzzle. The room itself was small, cramped and sweaty. Overall, the production quality was awful. To indicate the timer, they played a windows movie file off a computer, with sound effects coming from a cheap monitors' speakers. There was absolutely no feeling of immersion, and the puzzles being mediocre. Would definitely not recommend, especially given the price point without a coupon deal. We were so excited to go and experience our first escape room. We got a coupon off groupon and when we arrived at our scheduled time, there was no one there. It was absolutely deserted, no furniture and the superintendent informed us that it's been closed for a while. We called the number and there was a lady who was giving us excuses that the electricity wasn't on yet and how they'd be there soon. This was was second time visiting an escape room so I am no where near being a pro. I wont say that this was a bad experience but I am strictly comparing to my first experience. The room we chose was very difficult and our group of 6 came close to finishing but unfortunately couldn't complete it. The story line was great but the room was very small and extremely hot. Please DO NOT waste your time or money! Overarching Thought: One of the poorer escape games/escape the rooms out there. The quality of room challenge alone (The Antidote) was very poor. In total, this place seems like an attempt at a quick buck as they choose to charge well above the average fee for an escape game that offers a very sub-par experience. I used a groupon for my first experience, and to be honest, that still wasn't worth it. In fact, because of the difficulties, inconsistencies and treatment by the manager (see below), we were reimbursed by both groupon and wagjag. Cost: $30 - Compared to other escape facilities, this is much pricier (up to twice as much) than other facilities available out of Toronto that offer much more challenging, engaging experiences. Facility: This seemed like a mickey mouse place where the owners/managers are trying to put as little money into it as possible while charging ridiculous amounts (see above). The building was quite run down, and the room was not easy to find at all (its on the second floor of a run-down looking business building). Upon arrival, people departing the escape games actually got stuck in the elevator while we waited for it and we had to pry the doors open to get them out (I'm sure that escape was more thrilling than the one they had in the game). Games: This places offers three games, each of which having a thrilling description on their website. The game we ended up choosing was the Antidote (their most challenging room, apparently), which was nothing more than a bunch of keys and boxes and could have been easily done on one's own. We ended up breaking the record in the room (a room they stated a time limit of 45 minutes and a success rate of below 30% at the time - I don't recall the exact stat). Staff: When we went to do The Antidote, they were cordial and easy to talk to. However, this changed later. Prior to attending the first time to complete The Antidote, my gf and I also gifted a groupon and received a wagjag from her sister (ironically). When we (me, my gf, her sister and bf) tried to book both the remaining games (Graveyard shift and Airport explosion)they refused and stated a minimum of 5 players for the Graveyard. This is information they failed to detail on their website, that has since been updated (I print screened the webpage before they added the player numbers). This was erroneously refuted by the manager (a lady) who was much less than accommodating and, in fact, became rude and condescending on the phone. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! This place feels like the biggest money grab. I've been to another escape game in Toronto that was cheaper than this place and infinitely better. The room we went through was just opening lock boxes. No team work involved and the "intensity" of escaping the room was non-existent. Something I also found annoying: the manager knocked on the door and came into the room in the middle of our game to ask if we needed a clue! It was so disruptive and took away from us enjoying it. Even if you find a Groupon/Wagjag, it is still not worth the money. Escape games can be super fun but this one is a flop. read more

We recently visited Xtreme Escape Adventures and booked all 3 rooms for my husband's birthday. All of us had a blast. I was in the Airport Explosion and got very close to the end. I liked how much thought was put into utilizing every part of the room. I have been to a few other escape rooms and we were just thrown in the room and locked away. The hosts here were very patient and really took the time to initiate us, as a couple of us were doing this for the first time. I would definitely recommend this to any one that is looking for a fun way to spend 45 minutes. read more
