Most of the time there's a line, but it moves quickly. There's no real seating. The staff are fluent in English. There are multiple varieties of churros: ranging from the traditional to the chocolate covered, the larger kind which are stuffed to a different sorts of creams like kinder, pistachio, and chocolate. I was fortunate to come here when the line was short at around 5pm. The variety is easy to see in the display case and the special of 6 for 4.95 euro plus chocolate is a deal! I added the Nutella filled since many helpers have raved about it. Paying cash made the lady very happy and I asked if I could sit in one of the four seats inside and she liked that too! Offered me a spoon and napkins as well. Ah, too much for one person to eat; at least for someone watching their cholesterol and weight! The cup of chocolate is so generous that it would be good to take home across the pond! My Nutella filled was good and even better dipped in the chocolate. Sinful right? I wish I had a cup of coffee because it's a perfect compliment to cut the churros and chocolate richness. The churros are crispy and not oily. I really enjoyed my churros from here. I came in the fall in November and there were super long lines going up the block, but my wait was around 20 minutes. This Xurreria (churreria) is the best! I dream of going back. Tons of vegan options that are delicious too. I tried a stuffed churro with chocolate that was dreamy. I also tried Pastiset ( traditional Catalan pastry stuffed with sweet fillings, the one here was with some kind of pumpkin jam) and a Pestinyos D'anis which was a pastry with anise seeds. One of my favorite dessert experiences ever. Total serendipity as somehow in two trips to Barcelona nobody and no guide book told me about this very popular place with locals. Don't be intimidated by the line, instead make sure you're ready to order. Don't deny yourself anything that looks good, because it's ALL good. I've never had such delicious churros. They come with a hot cup of thick creamy hot chocolate to dip and dunk and the churros are immediately fresh and hot. The workers are very efficient, quick, and yet friendly. Notice how many YELP reviews use the word, best, in their descriptions of Xurreria Trebol. I ordered more than I could eat on a chilly evening, we sat at the nearby park and then we had the leftovers on the flight back home. This place is so good I actually considered asking them to turn the plane back around so I could go get some more. Best Churros I have had in a really long time! Literally ran for a bus so we could get here before they closed, and glad we made it! They have so many options for churros and it was very hard to pick what to go for. Family loved the Kinder Bueno one. It was like a giant Churro filled with a Kinder Bueno filling. Very different from some of the classic Carmel or chocolate filters and it was actually very nice. My favorite though was the plain churros! So warm and crispy and fresh and perfect with that sugar coating. We got some of the hot chocolate to go with as well and that chocolate itself was so rich and delicious! This is the Cafe du Monde of Barcelona! Open 24 hours, and everyone seems to stop here. Tiny churro window with a few tables on the sidewalk. We came at 10 pm and still stood in a small line but easily got a table. The churros are delicious and plentiful. The price can't be beat. For $10, we got 6 traditional ones, a huge specialty churro, and two hot chocolates! Speaking of their hot chocolate, this is not what we are used to in the US. This popular churrería is open 24 hours Thursday-Saturday. Thus, this was a perfect stop walking back from the club at 3am, and there was even a small line. This bakery is a takeout type of spot. You can't buy an individual regular churro as they are only sold in bulk and must meet a minimum weight. I tried a chocolate-filled churro instead for 2.50€. I'm a pretty big fan of the churros and the chocolate here, but I wouldn't branch out beyond that. Stick to what they do well! They have plain churros, chocolate covered churros, and ones filled with Nutella, cream, and dulce de leche (caramel). My recommendation is the two euro Nutella-filled churro or the smaller plain churros with hot, thick dipping chocolate. Both are excellent. We also tried a small pastry filled with "white pumpkin" that was straight up not good (and had nothing to do with pumpkin). They have some savory fried foods too, but nothing that would constitute a meal. There are a few seats inside, but it's not really a place to sit down and hang out. They make it easy to take food to go. The staff is hit or miss on friendliness and English ability, but the churros are always on point. Bring cash only for payment. read more
