Yaba Mediterranean Grill absolutely blew me away. I ordered the Mediterranean salad with chicken, made classic, and it was amazingly delicious. The balance of ingredients was spot-on. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly blended. You can really taste the care and quality in the food. What truly set this place apart, though, was the personalized service. The staff was warm, engaging, and clearly built real relationships with their regulars. They greeted every customer that entered as they walked in. They even took a moment to congratulate a customer who had just graduated from college and engaged their family celebrating with them. That kind of genuine connection is rare and incredibly refreshing. When I finished eating, I realized I wasn't in any rush to leave. I just sat there, soaking it all in with a goofy smile on my face, enjoying the atmosphere and the experience as a whole. The next time I'm in Greenville, I will definitely be back. I was looking for a quick lunch while driving around Greenville. I pulled up to this shop near ECU. When I walked in the guy behind the counter was plenty friendly. Whether it was the local students, residents, or police officers. He seemed to know everyone that walked in during my visit. The service was fast, I walked up to the counter and he built my meal right in front of me while offering me all sorts of customizations from the bar. I got a Gyro wrap, which he built and then cut into smaller pieces- like finger sandwiches. The portions were great, ingredients tasty and fresh, and the overall value is solid. While I was eating in my booth the guy behind the counter went out of his way to compliment my car. Bottom line: a great fast casual joint with good food and friendly service. read more

This space must be magical. I used to frequent BUZZ that occupied the building before and kept hearing new things about the new occupants. I came here on election night for healthy takeout for my friends and me. We ordered two chicken shawarma bowls, one falafel bowl with pita, and a mint lemonade. My friends said that the chicken was good flavor-wise. One remarked that it was a bit dry though the toppings and rest of the bowl were great. I got the falafel bowl with hummus and ghazwi and was wildly impressed. The hummus was smooth and fresh, served traditionally with tons of good olive oil and paprika. I ate it with the pita as a pre-dinner snack. I mixed the ghazwi in with my bowl and loved the freshness, and the spicy kick it added to the dish. The saffron rice and fresh toppings were terrific... ...But the star of the show was the falafel. I am a falafel addict (see previous reviews lol), and this falafel was PERFECT. Crunchy, perfectly-textured, flavorful, and hand-packed and fried on the spot. I didn't eat it immediately, and it still gave me everything I wanted. (I cannot imagine it right out of the fryer ) I also heard that the mint lemonade was terrific. I ordered it just to try it out. Admittedly, I wasn't expecting much. But before I got home, it was gone. Absolutely delicious. Tons of fresh mint blended with ice, sugar, and lemonade. The flavor is unmatched. My friend that recommended it said it was the perfect drink for summer and I couldn't agree more. But this drink is refreshing year-round. If you're a summer lover like me, this will give you summer vibes all year long. I can't wait to make this my go-to spot for falafel. read more

This is one of those places that if I lived within 15mins of I'm sure I'd be there a few days a week. The people working had a very chill vibe and it was a welcoming atmosphere. I was able to split a plate of chicken and lamb with rice grape leaves, tzatziki, hummus, and other add-ons with my daughter, and we had leftovers. Reasonably priced too! I was recently in Raleigh and stopped at cava, which is a chain Mediterranean restaurant with similar set up, and the contrast was significant. WOW. So happy there is finally an authentic Palestinian restaurant in Raleigh. I placed an order over the phone, made the 30 minute drive there and waited only a few moments for my food. The drive and the little wait time was SO worth it. The restaurant is clean, open, and homey. The workers are all super friendly and extremely nice and welcoming. All the food being prepared in the front was extremely fresh and crisp. I ordered the beef shawarma platter and falafel pieces. So happy to see another Mediterranean place pop up in Greenville, especially one that is closer to me! Their menu is simple - a few key appetizers, shawarma bowls or sandwiches, and salad. Our favorites are the shawarma bowls and you cannot go wrong with either beef or chicken. They are both super flavorful, especially with the tahini sauce they put on it. All the appetizers have been great too and I would also recommend the mint lemonade which is made in -house and came in the form of a slushie style. I heard about this place from a friend right when they opened. He said they were super friendly and had an amazing salad but no meat on a spit. I'm a meat man myself so I didn't think too much of going. Fast forward to this week and I'm shopping at Sprouts. I get a hankering and can smell Med wafting through the air. "What the heck", I think to myself, "support local business"... And I head in there. Holy Levant on a stick. This place had not one, but two of the biggest shawarma spits I've seen in my life. And yes, I lived in Glendale CA aka Armenia Jr., so I know my shawarma. I don't know how many animals gave their life to pack that thing, including the layers of fat on top (done RIGHT people) but I refused to let their sacrifice go to waste. Guy at the counter was friendly and asked me what I wanted. I could tell he was worried I might be a Northraleighus Karenus (the local species) and demand like quinoa butter and free range feta. But I told him don't insult me and make it how you make it. Fresh shaved chicken, long peppers, spiced onions, garlic sauce, and hot sauce followed in a hot pita. It was amazing. I was transported back to S Central Ave in Glendale saying "shat lav" as I crushed a counter stall shawarma. Go to this place now.
