I think our choice of food wasn't the best, it was like a slightly different Indian. However, the desserts were incredible and I never have a dessert when I go for Chinese or Indian. We definitely recommend the cold chocolate one and the carrot tart! read more

Good but maybe a tiny bit overrated. I loved the food here, but the service wasn't too helpful. We asked a few questions that they didn't really answer, and they left out a side that just went forgotten. Portions seemed a little bit small but if you share with the table and order enough you should be fine. Ambiance was rustic but a bit dark since it's located in a basement-type area. Situated onn the way into or out of Bath, this restaurant is definately easy to miss. But if you do find it, you'll discover a great gem. You descend down the stairs into a restaurant that is well-decorated with pottery and houseware from Nepal. I've never had Nepalese food, but was very much looking forward to trying it. We ordered the spinach and watercress, black dal, bhat (white basmati rice), lamb curry, and fried cauliflower. To start off the meal, we both had tea. It was the best chai my husband and I have ever had. The waiter seemed a bit perplexed when we ordered it and I think it's because that coffee and tea were listed as desserts on the menu. I noticed this after the fact. Our food came. It seemed as though the portions were on the small side, but truly they were not. If I had to describe Nepalese food to someone who has never tried it, it would be described as similar to Indian food except not as strong or robust, but milder. This doesn't mean that it tastes bland, as a matter of fact, the food was very flavorful. The food was DELICIOUS. I was really satisfied afterwards. The service was also great, gracious and nice. I would definately come here again, if I were ever in Bath....I wonder when ever that will be? But I'm grateful for trying this place because it was very worth it. read more

Yak Yeti Yak. Yak Yeti Awesome!!!! I just had a meal here and can't say enough good things about it. We walked in to a friendly greeting from the staff, who were lovely, fast and attentive all night. Starters consisted of shared plates of vegetable and pork Momo's. Taste sensation! My partner said it was the best she had tasted outside of Nepal, and she has eaten a fair few in her time. Mains came and they were an epic mix of subtle spices and flavours. I ordered the special (the name of which escapes me) which consisted of chicken pieces, nigella seeds, spices, onions and tomatoes. My partner choose Yak Yeti Chicken which was a similar mix of simple flavours and spices, but with a masala type gravy. We also ordered the Nepalese special rice. And very special it was. I would go as far as to say it was my favourite part of the meal. All the food was served in authentic Nepalese plates and vessels, and the surroundings were a little slice if Nepal itself, with prayer blankets and Nepalese ornaments adorning the walls and ceiling. I walked out of here very satisfied and will definitely be going back the next time I'm in Bath. A well deserved five stars. read more

This place was great. They had a helpful notice at the top of the menu which suggested how to go about ordering. I wish Indian restaurants had a similar paragraph! The appetizers were good but the food was phenomenal. Very reasonably priced, as was the suggested wine which was very good. I had never had Nepalese cuisine before but I will again if we can find something similar in San Diego. read more

I returned to the Yak Yeti Yak after one year. Four of us... Late Thursday night....Restaurant was empty (that worried us a little bit to start with...) but how great meal and great evening! We had the chance to try different dishes (both veggie and meaty and dessert) and ALL of them were superb!Good balance of spices...sweetness ...interesting and unusual (for me at least!) combinations of flavours! I don't know if it is authentic as I never been in Nepal but I really loved it. The service was great too! I went back as I liked the food there before ...but, after last week, I certainly will go back more often! read more

Urged on by plaudits of other Yelpers we tried this and were delighted. Starters - cauliflower fritters and spiced salmon with dipping sauce - were exquisite, main courses thoroughly enjoyable, puds of carrot tart (yes really) and saffron yoghurt were simply delicious. Friendly, helpful staff, rustic Nepalese artifacts and incence all added to the atmosphere. One tiny gripe: the wine was on the expensive side. All in all, a very different experience and a place we would gladly return to. read more

Bath looks amazing but can be let down by good and/or reasonable food. Lunch too often ends up being a sandwich or a jacket potato. So when I stayed in the Halcyon nearby I noted this place, which looks unassuming from the outside. I've had Nepalese quite a few times so know my way around the menu. The quality yardstick is momo dumplings, which here were great, with a lovely fresh green chutney. The daily lunchspecial of veggie curry, orange Dahl and basmati rice is great value at 8.50 and tastes very fresh and healthy. The Dahl was fragrant with toasted garlic and completely additive. It was a sunny day so we sat in the courtyard,which has bamboo growing around it and a tinkly water feature. Great place. Go. read more

I love this place! I've been a few times and always had excellent food, friendly (but not overbearing) service and a lovely, different dining experience. You have to remember to order half of what you think you'll need as the food fills you up quickly and I'd advise steering clear of the Nepalese beer...I particularly love the tables on the floor and often take friends here when they're in town. The ambience wasn't too bad - though we were seated by the back door and therefore it was a little cold and draughty. The food was wholesome and freshly prepared but a little lacking in flavour and not that good value for money. One of us chose soup that was listed as a main dish: it was larger than you would need for a starter but not very filling, too salty and certainly not worth its £12.50 price tag. read more

We stumbled upon this place, and boy are we glad we did. Vivid flavors akin to Indian food, but a brighter and fresher tone. We loved every dish we tried (appetizer: pickled veggies and their variety of chutney along with the recommended fried crisps to dip in it, pork dumplings with an exciting spice dip, the battered cauliflower-divine, then for main dishes we shared the most popular chicken dish he suggested with green chiles and onions along with the broccoli and asparagus side. We had it served with Naplese rice. SO SO GOOD!) There was a little bit of food leftover to bring home after 2 of us ate this. I liked sharing several dishes in order to sample it all. Portions aren't big, but they're not too small, either. Order some starters if you're really hungry. We also loved the lime and soda water and ginger beer. I'm a fan of ginger beer and this was the most fresh, crisp and lightly sweetened I've ever tried.
