As an actor or actress, you pay so much money for a headshot that will heavily influence your success in the field. These pictures are usually expensive, and yet I believe we've all experienced or know of someone with a "headshot horror story"--pictures that are over-exposed, poorly edited, or really just don't capture you the way you would like to be seen. Most of my experiences with headshots have been subpar, to say the least, and I was so scared when I booked again for new ones. However, booking with Yana was the farthest thing from a nightmare--it was beyond a blessing, and I truly couldn't be happier with what I've received. My headshots are AMAZING. Let me tell you why!! Yana took the time to get to know what I was looking for, and not only that, but she also took the time to get to know me. We met prior to the shoot to discuss the look and feel of the photos, and exactly how I was hoping to be represented. She even studied my older headshots to understand exactly what I was unhappy with in them. She made me feel so comfortable prior to the shoot, but she didn't stop there! On our shooting day, she made the location work for me, talked me through all she was doing, checked in with me frequently as we shot to make sure she was on the right track for what I was looking for, and overall just made me so comfortable!! Yana created a space where I could express myself fully, and then captured it perfectly in her images. After, we met to discuss the photos, and go through them as a team. Most photographers I've worked with only pick what they believe to be their favorites--what a blessing it was to get to put in my own two cents!! She really prioritized my opinion. Yana got the images to me within a week!! The editing was flawless, and I couldn't stop calling everyone I knew just to show them the headshots. They were beyond what I could've hoped for, truly. I am head over heels for how she captured me!! The price was amazing for her incredible service, too. Honestly, she just blew me away in general! If you're looking for quality pictures, you could find a few photographers, I'm sure. BUT if you're looking for INCREDIBLE images that actually capture YOU, and a fun, comfortable atmosphere to take them in, you will not find a more talented person than Yana. I can't recommend her enough. She is my go-to photographer now and I just truly couldn't be happier. This is absolutely money and time well spent!! She goes above and beyond every time. Great experience at Yana's with my 2.5 year old! His first set of headshots! She did an amazing job making us comfortable, and making my toddler feel engaged, welcome and confident. There was no rush, just calm pursuit of great shots. I gave her a list of what we needed and she made sure to get it all even as I was distracted at how cute it all was. One session at Yana's Photos has completely changed my outlook on having portraits taken. I'm comfortable with candid pictures and selfies, but having professional pictures taken used to really freak me out. But Yana made me feel so relaxed from the start that it didn't feel like any other session I had ever had in the past when I needed pictures for linked in, my personal website, and other social media. She asked for my input on what sort of tone we were going for, including looking at all of my inspiration pictures on Pinterest and then incorporating that into the shoot. Yana combined some of the zillion color backdrops with just a few of their many lighting choices to get some really amazing shots. Yana is a natural director, so she was able to guide my clueless self into some cool poses and expressions that I would not have thought of. I hired Yana for a portrait session for my grandmother as a gift for her 75th birthday. Yana told me her price range and then we agreed on a budget after I explained exactly what I was looking for. Yana expertly asked about my grandmother and her hobbies to get a sense of her style. Just days later, Yana promptly emailed me two options for studios. I loved both and the fact that she immediately was able to translate the random musings about my grandma into a physical space was remarkable. After picking a spot, date and time, I met Yana a week later with my grandmother. She did an outstanding job making my grandma feel comfortable and not self-conscious by making sure we had a playlist going of my grandma's favorite songs playing the entire time. I also should mention that my grandma doesn't speak English and I was on hand to work as a translator, but about 20 minutes into our 2-hour shoot, Yana picked up key Spanish phrases which helped my grandma feel special and is a testament to how much Yana cares and goes the extra mile to cater to her clients. I used Yana's Photos on three occasions. I was very impressed with her professional and warm demeanor as well as the quality and beauty of the photos. She photographed my engagement party and she was such a hit. She was able to get all of the small and big family photos that we wanted throughout the night, as well as candid shots of all the guests. She came about a week after I had our second son, and I was still recovering and feeling really tired and like I was going to look exhausted and HORRIBLE in all the photos.... BUT then she showed us some of the pictures and I was almost crying they were so beautiful. Truly... it is hard a week postpartum to be like "yea, lets have a photoshoot" but I am so glad I did it. She got the sweetest moments of our newborn making eye contact with my husband and me and sweet little faces that they only make right in the beginning. They newborn phase goes so fast! She also got really cute pictures of our older son kissing him on the head which is priceless! She did more of a lifestyle shoot with our family which is fun to go back and look at. Us all sitting together on the couch, my husband wrestling with our older son, and me changing the newborn's clothes...
